This study was conducted to investigate chemical properties, quality stability and utilization of approved sardine surimi(ASS) which is developed our laboratory. The product yield of the ASS was about 3 times higher than that of usual sardine surimi(SS). The proper addition concentration of sodium bicarbonate was 0.1% for the neutralization of the ASS. The content of salt soluble protein nitrogen in the ASS was about the half of that in the SS, while the content of water soluble protein nitrogen was 2.4 times higher in ASS. The total amount of free amino acids in the ASS was about 11 times higher than that of the SS. Predominant free amino acids in the ASS were histidine, taurine, glutamic acid and alanine, and those four amino acids occupied 94% of total amount of free amino acids. During cold storage at 21oC for 6 months, the quality of ASS was more stable than that of SS in judging from changes of water soluble and salt soluble protein nitrogen, AV and POV. Quality of fish burger, fish sausage and fried fish paste processed in accordance with commercial processing preparation using the ASS or SS exclusively and mixtures which other white meat fish surimi(alaska pollack, hair tail and sole) were proportionallly added to each of two types of sardine meat were evaluated. In case of fish burger, the product processed from the ASS only were superior.
Two trials were conducted to study the effects of two Chinese herbal polysaccharides, Astragalus polysaccharides (APS) and Achyranthes bidentata polysaccharides (ABPS), and one Chinese herbal saponin, Acantbepanax senticosus saponin (ASS), on the immunity and growth performance of weaned pigs. Experiment 1 was a 14-day growth assay, in which 32 weaned pigs were randomly allocated to one of four dietary treatments: i) 0.05% talcum powder control; ii) 0.05% APS; iii) 0.05% mixture of APS and ASS in a 1:1 ratio by weight; and iv) 0.05% mixture of APS, ASS, and ABPS in a ratio of 1:1:1 by weight. Blood samples were collected on day 14 to determine plasma parameters. Feed intake, body weight gain, and feed efficiency were also determined. Experiment 2 was a 21-day immunity assay, in which 16 weaned pigs were randomly allotted to one of two dietary treatments: i) 0.05% talcum powder control; and ii) 0.05% mixture of APS and ASS in a 1:1 ratio by weight. On day 21, pigs were challenged with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and 3 h later blood samples were collected and analyzed for lymphocyte proliferation as well as interleukin 6 (IL-6), insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), growth hormone (GH), and cortisol levels. In Experiment 1, feeding Chinese herbal polysaccharides and saponin increased growth performance of the pigs. The effects of the mixture of APS and ASS were especially notable, as there was a significant improvement in growth performance compared with the control (p<0.05). The plasma concentration of immunoglobulin G (IgG), nitric oxide (NO), and nitric oxide synthase (NOS) were increased in all treatments groups, with the mixture of APS and ASS increasing the level of IgG and NOS significantly (p<0.05), compared with the control. There was no difference in the NO level between the control and treatment groups (p>0.05). In Experiment 2, Chinese herbal polysaccharides and saponin showed immunostimulating effects. The level of cortisol, GH, and IGF-I were significantly increased (p>0.05), and the level of IL-6 showed a significant decrease (p<0.05) in the APS and ASS treatment after the LPS challenge. The mixture of APS and ASS could stimulate the blood lymphocyte proliferation significantly whether the LPS was injected or not (p<0.05). These results show that Chinese herbal extracts can improve growth performance and stimulate immunity of weaned pigs. A mixture of APS and ASS, compared with APS alone, could be a new kind of immunostimulant for weaned pigs, which could result in greater positive effects on their growth performance and immunity.
Let R be a commutative Noetherian (not necessarily local) ring, I an ideal of R and M a finitely generated R-module. In this paper, by computing the local cohomology modules and Ext-modules via the injective resolution of M, we proved that, if for an integer t > 0, dim$_RH_I^i(M){\leq}k$ for ${\forall}i$ < t, then $$\displaystyle\bigcup_{i=0}^{j}(Ass_RH_I^i(M))_{{\geq}k}=\displaystyle\bigcup_{i=0}^{j}(Ass_RExt_R^i(R/I^n,M))_{{\geq}k}$$ for ${\forall}j{\leq}t$ and ${\forall}n$ >0. This shows that${\bigcup}_{n>0}(Ass_RExt_R^i(R/I^n,M))_{{\geq}k}$ is a finite set for ${\forall}i{\leq}t$. Also, we prove that $\displaystyle\bigcup_{i=1}^{r}(Ass_RM/(x_1^{n_1},x_2^{n_2},{\ldots},x_i^{n_i})M)_{{\geq}k}=\displaystyle\bigcup_{i=1}^{r}(Ass_RM/(x_1,x_2,{\ldots},x_i)M)_{{\geq}k}$ if $x_1,x_2,{\ldots},x_r$ is M-sequences in dimension > k and $n_1,n_2,{\ldots},n_r$ are some positive integers. Here, for a subset T of Spec(R), set $T_{{\geq}i}=\{{p{\in}T{\mid}dimR/p{\geq}i}\}$.
The current network environment is composed of heterogeneous H/W and S/W resources. Integrating CSCW applications in such heterogeneous environments is highly complex. This paper describes the design and implementation of ASS (application sharing server) which supprot sharing of a single application between different operating systems. The ASS supports cooperative work among user group using its own window system (X-windwo or MS-windwos). We adopted improved managing heavy-weight data. ASS also provides development environment for vaious groupware application.
The forest stands of Seonusan area, South-western Korea, were classified into three alliances and nine communities by the Z-M school scheme. Of these one alliance and four association were recognized in this study, that is, an alliance, Carpinion laxiflorae and four associations, Casrpinetum tschonoskii, Quercetum variabilis, Carpinetum laxiflorae and Rhododendro mucronulati-Pinetum densiflorae. Hierachy of Seonunsan area forest vegetation by Z-M scheme was as fallows: Pinion densiflorae Suz.-Tok. 1966. 1. Rhododendro mucronlati-Pinetum densiflorae ass.l nov., 2. Pinus thunbergii community. This study was carried out to characterize pinus densiflora forests in middle province (Mt. Seolag, Mt. Taebaik) south province (Mt. Sokli, Mt. Jiri) and south-coast province (Mt. Daedun) of Korea. The appearance species in the P. densiflora alliance included 325 taxa and varied according to the direction of slopes. The steeper the slope was, the fewer number of taxa were observed. The floristic composition of south-coast province was gradually changing to the south hemispheric factors. Dominant species groups of P. densiflora alliance were classified into P. densiflora, Quercus serrata ( layer), Rhus trichocarpa ( layer), Lespedeza maximowiczii var. tomentella (S layer), Artemisia keiskeana, Carex humilis var. nana, Spodiopogon sibiricus (K layer). Quercus variabilis, Fraxinus sieboldiana and Styrax japonica association were formed under the P. densiflora alliance. Quercus, Rhus, Lespedeza and Rhododendron groups maintained high ecological relationships one another. The soil factors (pH, organic matters, and water field capacity)and relative light intensity tended to show negative correlation, which were significantly different among provinces. The P. densiflora forests of Korea were classified into one alliance and four associations, that is, pinion densiflorae Suz.-Tok. 1966, Quercetum variabilae ass. nov., Quercetum mongolicae ass. nov. Fraxinetum sieboldianae ass. nov. and Styraxetum japonicae ass. nov.

Based on 440 skulls recently collected from two areas of the wild ass population in Mongolia, the time course of tooth eruption and replacement was investigated. The dentition pattern allows identification of age up to five years. We also conclude that annual lines in the tooth cementum can be used to determine the age in years for wild asses older than five years after longitudinal tooth sections were made with a low-speed precision saw. The first upper incisor proved to be most suitable for age determination, although the starting time of cement deposition is different between the labial and lingual sides of the tooth. The accurate age of the wild ass can be determined from the number of annual lines and the time before the first formation of the cementum at the respective side of the tooth.
This study was designed to investigate the effects of Acanthopanax sessiliflorus 5.,M (ASS) on the regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) and mean arterial blood pressure (BP) in normal rats and ischemic rats. Experimental groups of rCBF and BP in normal and ischemic rats as follows ; ALE was injected ASS leaves 45% ethyl alcohol extract, ASE was injected ASS stems 45% ethyl alcohol extract, ARE was injected ASS roots 45% ethyl alcohol extract. The results were as follows ; In normal rats, ALE and ARE significantly increased rCBF in a dose-dependent manner, but ASE significantly decreased rCBF and MABP in a dose-dependent manner, ALE increased MABP In ischemic rats, rCBF was significantly and staDly improved by ARE (10 mg/kg, i.p.) during the period of cerebral reperfusion, which was contrasted with the findings of rapid and marked increase in control group. From the above results, it was thought that all part of Acanthopanax sessiliflorus $S_{EEM}$ was effective for hemodynamics and especially ARE was more effective than other parts.
