Evaluation of Analytic Hierarchy Process Method and Development of a Weight Modified Model (AHP 분석의 문제점과 수정가중치모형의 개발)

  • This study examines problems with using the conventional analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method and proposes a method of weight adjustment as a modification of AHP. AHP is a method for transforming complex decision problems into a hierarchal structure, which is composed of elements in the upper and lower levels and then using pairwise comparisons to evaluate these elements and subsequently to obtain their relative weights. The elements' relative importance is reliable if the elements in the lower hierarchical levels (sub factors) that comprise each element in the upper hierarchical level (primary factor) are equal in number. In other words, if the number of sub factors is different for each primary factor, a serious error is expected as a result. Therefore, this study proposes a modification of AHP that can avoid such an error when AHP is used. Specifically, an error that arises from different number of sub factors (matrix size) can be overcome by making the number of sub factors identical for each primary factor. The resulting model has been validated through the applications in different AHP hierarchical structures.

  • 기존의 일관성 개념은 임의적인 평가를 가정하고 있으며, 실제 AHP procedure에 반영되는 개념의 기준이 아닌 RI를 통해서 정의 내리고 있다. 수식적인 관점에서도, 경험적인 상대 비율을 통해 CR이 계산되어지고 있으며, 타당한 평가행렬이 Discard될 수도 있다. 이상적인 평가기준을 제시하는 것이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 기존 AHP 절차에 있어서 일관성 기준의 개념 및 적용과 9점 척도의 한계성에 의한 문제점을 제시하고 이 문제점을 개선할 수 있는 새로운 쌍대 행렬 평가기준을 제시하고자 한다.

  • This paper analyzes the problems of existing CCTV and discusses cyber security problems of IP-CCTV in cloud computing environment. In order to reduce the risk of simply removing the risk associated with the provision of cloud services, the risk analysis and counter-measures need to be carried out effectively. Therefore, the STRIDE model as the Threat Risk Modeling is used to analyze the risk factors, and Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) is used to measure risk priorities based on the analyzed threats.

  • A range of problems rave risen as the results of the obligated charter service. Constant lack of operation improvement compared to regular routes and lower quality service are results of business practice by the service providers. lherefore, this study executed an actual research using AHP to present a method for improvement by investigating remote island clnrter service providers. Result shows tint the desirable method is to implement operation evaluation system to induce service providers to consistently put efforts on the operating system development.

  • The current available recommendation systems for mobile games have a couple of problems. First, there is no knowing whether they make a pattern recommendation for games that actual users prefer or for games that they are simply interested in. It is also impossible to know the subjective preference of users in a direct manner. An AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process)-based recommendation system for mobile games was thus developed to reflect the subjective preference of users directly, but it had its own problem since the degree of preference could vary among users in spite of the same scale for their preferable items. In an effort to solve those problems, this study implemented a recommendation system for mobile games by applying triangular fuzzy numbers of the Fuzzy-AHP technique and the independence of evaluation items in the Bayesian Network. The findings show that the proposed recommendation system recorded the highest accuracy of recommendation results and the highest level of user satisfaction.

  • This study is conducted for the purpose of analyzing and contemplating the problems with the competition in current landscape design, with the goal of improving the landscape design competition system by using the AHP technique. The result of this study, first describe the Landscape design competition system that formed the problems and show the most important problem followed by other problems shown in order of importance, which are 'design changes after winning', 'Guidelines for design competition' and 'Landscape design competition manner'. Secondly, in the low rank article make up the level one -From a total 12 elements from the low rank article corresponding in 'process of winner selection' the 'Unprofessional landscape participate the screening' collected comments for the biggest problem, 'lack of expertise in judgement', 'problems with the examination scoring system' and other articles, the corresponding in 'process of winner selection' appears at the highest ranks. It also happens that after making the choice in the landscape design competition, the importance of 'client's design change symptoms' appears high. As a result the overlooked details of the landscape design competition's problems were analyzed. This study has prioritized the problems by problems which landscape design competition institutions most frequently have. Based on this ranking, there is significance purpose to create proactive system improvements in the future. By analyzing these problems, we will be better able to develop improvements to the future system.

  • The building construction projects include a variety of risk factors due to uncertainties. To succeed in the projects, it is important how risks are managed. Risk management is composed of identification, analysis and response. Especially, the risk analysis is important to objectively calculate significance of risk factors. This paper evaluates a method to find priorities of risks using the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). The method has some defects; (1) the consistency becomes weak as the number of pair-wise compared risks is large, and (2) the input and output procedures are complex when risks are added to or removed from a risk database. Thus the paper adopts the PROMETHEE(Preference Ranking Organization METHod Enrichment Evaluations) analysis process which is able to overcome the limitation of the AHP restricted to 9 risk factors. The PROMETHEE makes the procedure of risk analysis simple, when the risk factors pull out and put in the risk database. The purpose of this study is to provide process of risk analysis to use the PROMETHEE.

  • The Korean government has put mamy efforts into the protection of ecological values of coastal and marine ecosystems since the mid 1990s, recognizing ecological values and economic contributions of coastal and marine ecosystems. Rapid increase of coastal and marine protected areas in terms of number and size implies the innovative change of national policy regarding ecosystem protection. As of the end of 2006, the total number and size of the protected areas account for 425 and $10,666.8km^2$ respectively. Despite of this achievement, the current policy regime on the protected areas has not been quite successful dealing with in managerial issues. The ambiguity and the lacking objectivity of designation criteria have, been causes of pending issues such as conflict outbreaks, 'paper parks', duplicated designation, etc. This paper aims at improving current designation criteria based on AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). The suggestion of the study covers both the new designation criteria and the weighing factor on each criterion considering different ecological and socio-economic characteristics of 'wetland protected area' and 'marine protected area'.
