  • A one dimensiional cumulus cloud model has been developed for the investigation of temporal and altitudinal variation of trace gases and the wet deposition rates of sulfate for different simulation conditions. The results show that the dynamic field, liquid mixing ratios and the solubility of trace gases affect the distribution of trace gases and the droplet pH. Temporal variation of the predicted surface precipitation and sulfate deposition rates agree well with the field data.

  • The radiation characteristics of corrugated conical horn antenna is calculated. The electromagnetic field equations which are satisfied with boundary conditions in courrugated horn are derived. Using the eqvivalent principle, the formularsof radiation pattern are obtaind. The experiments on 8.0 ~ 13.8 GHz frequency range agree well with the theoretical results.

  • In this paper, a new type of step motor with two degree of mechanical freedom, which is named rotary-Linear Step Motor(RLSM), is presented. Its rotor axis can perform linear and rotary motions either separately or simultaneously. This paper discribes the design of RLSM using finite element method in which the magnetic saturation effect of the iron core is taken into account. The design parameters such as torques, forces and inductances are obtained from the computed magnetic vector potentials. A new type of Rotary-Linear Step Motor was constructed. The calculated parameters agree well with measurements.

  • We compare the reflectivity spectrum and phase change of Bragg reflectors obtained by the matrix method and the coupled wave method. We show that the results obtained by the two methods agree well generally and the discrepancy between the results obtained by the two methods increases as the fractional refractive index difference between adjacent layers increases and/or the absorption loss increases, due to the approximations inherent in the coupled wave method for the analysis of multiple dielectric layers.

  • A modification of the Hodgkin-Huxley equations was done with the changes of the binding sitea for the sodium and potassium channels. The computer simulation results agree well with the currant experiments. Thus, the contradictory problems that Suh had indicated previously can be solved. And also, the results show that the sodium and potassium channels play an important role in the firing and the leakage channel does not.

  • The comparison of the repeated measurements is often needed to see whether they agree sufficiently, when a measurement is repeated under identical conditions by different raters. Such investigations are often analyzed inappropriately, by using correlation coefficient. The purpose of this study is to introduce statistical methods for accessing the agreement of the repeated measurements, which include Bland-Altman plot, intra class correlation, Passing-Bablok regression and Cohen's kappa coefficient, and to show how to execute them using examples.

  • Fiber bundles output from a draft operation have linear density irregularity. This study is dealing with modeling the dynamics of fiber bundle during roll drafting based on continuity, momentum balance, and a constitutive assumption. The simulation results from this model are compared with experimental results and analyzed by applying the concept of the Describing Function(DF). It can be confirmed that the simulation results agree well with experiments in a steady state, if the model parameters are good adjusted.

  • The present study is numerically investigated for the high-pressure effects on the vaporization process in the convection-dominating flow field. Numerical results agree well with the available experimental data. The fuel droplet vaporization characterization is parametrically studied for the wide range of the operating conditions encountered with the high-pressure combustion process of turbocharged diesel engines.

  • The prediction of emission concentrations in a 4cycle spark ignition engine was made by considering nonuniform model with thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium and kinetic mechanism of nitric oxide. Calculation of this model shows that a temperature difference of the order of 500K can be established across he cylinder. Results of the kinetic calculation of nitric oxide show that the temperature gradient across the cylinder has a profound effect on the nitric oxide formation. The predicted values for nitric oxide, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide agree with measured ones for a variety of equivalence ratio.

  • An analytical and experimental modal analysis is carried out upon a crankshaft of a four cylinder internal combustion engine for studying dynamic characteristics of the shaft. Influence coefficient method is adopted in modelling the object and the calculated dynamic properties are directly compared with the experimentally obtained torsional and bending natural frequencies and mode shapes. It is found that the test results are well agree with the outputs from analytical model especially in low harmonics.
