전기자전거 응용을 위한 배터리 충전 기능 내장형 부스트 컨버터 (Boost Converter Embedded Battery Charging Function for Application of E-bike)

  • In the conventional E-bike, a 42 V/10 A Li-ion battery drives a 24 V/10 A BLDC motor via a 6-switch PWM DC/AC inverter. The major problems of the conventional battery-fed motor drive systems are listed as follows. To charge the battery, an external battery charger (adapter) is required, which degrades the portability of E-bike users. In addition, given the high-frequency operation of the motor drive inverter, the switching losses are significant, which degrades the whole power efficiency. High-voltage batteries (42 V) require a complex battery management system (BMS), which degrades the reliability of the battery pack. In this paper, an embedded boost-converter battery charger for E-bikes is proposed. The variable output boost converter, which converts 16.8 V battery voltage to the required variable voltage of the inverter input, can use a low-voltage battery and thus improve the reliability of batteries. By varying the inverter input voltage via boost converter, a DC link voltage control method can be applied to reduce the switching frequency of the inverter, which improves the whole power efficiency. Given that the function of a flyback charger is integrated in the proposed boost converter, the portability of the E-bike user can be maximized by excluding an external adapter. The validity of the proposed circuit will be confirmed by operation mode analysis and simulation. Moreover, experimental results of integrative charger using Li-ion battery and 200 W motor test will be showed with a prototype sample as well.

  • Interconnected power system operation has given rise to the problem of increased fault levels and leads to over stressing of all the components. Use have been made of recently developed high Tc superconductor in devising a superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) that promises optimum performance in terms of capital cost, size, auto sensing, operational losses, response time and reliability. Recently, research about the application of the SFCL is actively progressing in Korea. To be applied for SFCL practically, the electrical insulation design of SFCL must be developed. Therefore, this paper presents the result of an investigation of the dielectric characteristics of turn-to-turn insulation for SFCL in liquid nitrogen. The dielectric characteristics of turn-to-turn insulation models of SFCL were investigated. We obtained following results. The breakdown voltages increased as the spacer thickness and length increased. And the breakdown voltages of turn-to-turn model without spacer were higher than the breakdown voltages of turn-to-turn model with spacer under impulse as well as AC voltages. The information gathered in this test series should be helpful in the design of liquid nitrogen filled SFCL.

  • Effects of Taeumjowetang on Lipid Peroxidation by Free Radicals and Oxidative Damage of Hepatocytes by tert-Butyl Hydroperoxide. 1. Purpose The present study was carried out to evaluate the antioxidant effects of Taeumjowetang in vitro. 2. Methods In this study, antioxidant effects of TJT on lipid peroxidation were determined according to the method of TBA. (Abbreviation) TJT : Taeumjowetang, TBA : 2-thiobarbituric acid. 3. Results : 1) TJT inhibited markedly peroxidation of linoleic acid during the autoxidation. 2) TJT inhibited lipid peroxidation induced by hydroxyl radical derived from H2O2-Fe2+ in rat liver homogenate. 3) TJT showed 66% scavenging effect on DPPH radical. 4) TJT exhibited a 25% inhibitory effect on superoxide generation from xanthine-xan thine oxidase system. 5) To investigate the antioxidative effects of TJT on the hepatocytes, cultured normal rat liver cells(Ac2F) were prepared and incubated with or without TJT. After 16~18hr, cells placed in DMEM medium without serum, and then incubated with 1mM t-BHP for 2hr. Viable cells were detected by MTT assay. In this test, TJT protected the cell death induced by t-BHP and significantly increased cell viability in the normal rat liver cell. An AFM-based Edge Profile Measuring Instrument for Diamond Cutting Tools

  • This paper describes an atomic force microscope (AFM)-based instrument for measuring the nanoscale cutting edge profiles of diamond cutting tools. The instrument consists of a combined AFM unit and an optical sensor to align the AFM tip with the top of the diamond cutting tool edge over a submicron range. In the optical sensor, a aser beam is emitted from a laser diode along the Y-axis and focused to a small beam spot with a diameter of approximately $10{\mu}m$ at the beam waist, which is then received by a photodiode. The top of the tool edge is first brought into the center of the beam waist by adjusting it in the X-Z-plane while monitoring the variation in the photodiode output. The cutting tool is then withdrawn and its top edge position at the beam center is recorded. The AFM tip can also be positioned at the beam center in a similar manner to align it with the top of the cutting edge. To reduce electronic noise interference on the photodiode output and thereby enhance the alignment accuracy, a technique is applied that can modulate the photodiode output to an AC signal by driving the laser diode with a sinusoidal current. Alignment experiments and edge profile measurements of a diamond cutting tool were carried out to verify the performance of the proposed system.

타부 탐색을 이용한 센서리스 벡터 제어 (Sensorless Vector Control Using Tabu Search Algorithm)

  • 최근 효율적인 유도전동기 운전은 벡터제어에 의해 고성능 산업응용 분야에 쓰이고 있으며, 전동기 회전속도를 검출하기 위해 속도센서를 모터에 부착한다. 그러나 속도센서가 있으므로 나타나는 단점인 전기적 노이즈 발생을 최소화하도록 케이블 배치를 하여야 하며, 견고성이 떨어지고, 가격이 상승하는 등 단점이 많아 속도 센서가 없는 속도센서리스 벡터제어 이론에 대한 연구가 진행되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 타부 탐색을 이용한 유도전동기의 센서리스 벡터제어기를 연구하였다. 제안된 유도전동기 센서리스 벡터제어기는 두 부분으로 구성되어 있다. 첫 번째 부분은 타부 탐색법을 이용하여 첫 번째는 속도 추정기 초기 PI 게인 파라미터를 최적화 하는 부분이며, 두 번째 부분은 속도 제어기 PI 게인 파라미터를 최적화 시키는 부분이다. 제안된 타부 탐색법은 이웃해 영역을 찾는 방법을 삼각형 랜덤 분포를 이용하여 탐색 성능을 향상 시켰다. 제안된 방법을 유도 전동기 센서리스 벡터제어기에 적용하였고 성능을 시뮬레이션과 실험으로 검증하였다. 그 결과 부하의 변동에도 안정적으로 동작하였으며 유용성을 입증하였다.

외부 환경조건에 따른 ZnO 피뢰기의 전기적 특성의 변화 (Changes in Electrical Properties of ZnO Surge Arresters According to Surrounding Conditions)

  • 이 논문은 ZnO 피뢰기의 외부환경 변화에 따른 전기적 특성을 기술하였다. 뇌임펄스전류에 의한 ZnO 피뢰기의 열화특성을 분석하기 위해 8/20[${\mu}s$], 2.5[kA]의 임펄스전류를 시료에 인가하였다. ZnO 피뢰기의 누설전류를 다양한 외부 온도와 주수 상태에서 상용 주파수 교류 전압을 인가하여 측정하였다. 그 결과 임펄스전류의 인가횟수와 외부 온도가 증가함에 따라 누설전류가 증가하였고, 누설전류의 비대칭성도 뚜렷하였다. 또한 주수 시험에서 ZnO 피뢰기의 외피를 통하여 흐르는 전류는 피뢰기 소자의 누설전류보다 크게 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 피뢰기의 감시시스템 성능과 신뢰성 향상의 요소로 적용할 수 있다.

New Strategy for Eliminating Zero-sequence Circulating Current between Parallel Operating Three-level NPC Voltage Source Inverters

  • A novel strategy based on a zero common mode voltage pulse-width modulation (ZCMV-PWM) technique and zero-sequence circulating current (ZSCC) feedback control is proposed in this study to eliminate ZSCCs between three-level neutral point clamped (NPC) voltage source inverters, with common AC and DC buses, that are operating in parallel. First, an equivalent model of ZSCC in a three-phase three-level NPC inverter paralleled system is developed. Second, on the basis of the analysis of the excitation source of ZSCCs, i.e., the difference in common mode voltages (CMVs) between paralleled inverters, the ZCMV-PWM method is presented to reduce CMVs, and a simple electric circuit is adopted to control ZSCCs and neutral point potential. Finally, simulation and experiment are conducted to illustrate effectiveness of the proposed strategy. Results show that ZSCCs between paralleled inverters can be eliminated effectively under steady and dynamic states. Moreover, the proposed strategy exhibits the advantage of not requiring carrier synchronization. It can be utilized in inverters with different types of filter.

  • Recently, the performance of portable electric equipment can often improved by a Li-ion battery assisted by a supercapacitor. A supercapacitor can provide high power density as well as a low resistance in the hybrid system. In this study, we have prepared, as the pluse power souce, a commercially supplied Li-ion battery with a capacity of 700mAh and AC resistivity of $60m\Omega$ at 1kHz and nonaqeous asymmetric hybrid capacitor composed of an activated carbon cathode and MCMB anode, and have examined the electrochemical characteristics of hybrid capacitor and the pulse performances of parallel connected battery/hybrid capacitor source. The nonaqueous asymmetric hybrid capacitor, the stacks of 10 pairs of the cathode, the porous separator and the anode electrode were housed in Al-laminated film cell. The hybrid capacitor, which was charged and discharged at a constant current at $0.25mA/cm^2$ between 3 and 4.3V, has exhibited the capacitance of 100F. And the equivalent series resistance was $32m\Omega$ at 1kHz. By combining a Li-ion battery and a hybrid capacitor, the pulse performance of battery can be improved 23% in run time under a pulse discharge of 7C-rate.

Wireless Power Transfer for Electric Vehicles Charging Based on Hybrid Topology Switching With a Single Inverter

  • In wireless power transfer (WPT) system, the conventional compensation topologies only can provide a constant current (CC) or constant voltage (CV) output under their resonant conditions. It is difficult to meet the CC and CV hybrid charging requirements without any other schemes. In this study, a switching hybrid topology (SHT) is proposed for CC and CV electric vehicle (EV) battery charging. By utilizing an additional capacitor and two AC switches (ACSs), a double-side LCC (DS-LCC) and an inductor and double capacitors-series (LCC-S) topologies are combined. According to the specified CC and CV charging profile, the CC and CV charging modes can be flexibly converted by the two additional ACSs. In addition, zero phase angle (ZPA) also can be achieved in both charging modes. In this method, because the operating frequency is fixed, without using PWM control, and only a small number of devices are added, it has the benefits of low-cost, easy-controllability and high efficiency. A 3.3-kW experimental prototype is configured to verify the proposed switching hybrid charger. The maximum DC efficiencies (at 3.3-kW) of the proposed SHT is 92.58%.

퍼지 LP 기반 전력망 Peak Shaving 알고리즘 (Fuzzy LP Based Power Network Peak Shaving Algorithm)

  • 본 논문은 MW 스케일의 배터리 에너지 저장 시스템 (BESS)을 위한 PMS (power management systems)의 장기간 스케쥴링 알고리즘의 하나로서 peak shaving 알고리즘에 대하여 설명한다. PMS의 목적은 기본적으로 배터리 모듈의 AC 입출력을 제어하는 데 있다. 1일전 부하 곡선이 제공된다는 가정 하에서, 오프라인 peak shaving 알고리즘이 적용될 수 있으나, 이 오프라인 알고리즘의 결과를 적용할 경우 부하 곡선에 존재하는 불확실성에 의하여 그 적용 결과가 실시간 운전에서는 다르게 나타날 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 PMS의 peak shaving 문제에서 부하 곡선의 불확실성을 고려하기 위하여 퍼지 LP 문제 형태로 정식화하고 그 해법과 실시간 운전 시 적용 방안에 대하여 논한다.
