  • Plasma polymerized thin films were manufactured inter-electrode coupled plasma polymerization apparatus. The deposition rate reached its maximum between 40[W] and 100[W]. In the ESCA analysis, peaks revealing -CH2, -CH, -C- were present at 285.4 and 285.5[eV] respectively. The C=O peak at 532.8[eV] and the C-O peak at 533.8[eV], which were grouped with an unignorable amount of oxygen were conformed. In ESR analysis, the curve revealing strong amplification was in saturation, which was affected by weak power. This is considered as a -CH-Ch=Ch- structure containing the Allyl group. The relative permittivity of the plasma polymerized thin films was about 3.5 at a frequency of 100[Hz]∼200[kHz]. The dissipation factor showed allow value of 0.008.

  • In this study, tensile tests were carried out on materials (A516-60, A283-C, A285-C, and SB410) for structural and pressure vessels at temperatures of $20^{\circ}C$, $-20^{\circ}C$, and $-40^{\circ}C$, and the changes in the mechanical properties were analyzed. Compared to the results at $20^{\circ}C$, the average yield stress increased by 6.4% and 7.5% at $-20^{\circ}C$ and $-40^{\circ}C$ for A516-60, while the average tensile stress increased by 1.3% and 4.1%, respectively. The average elongation decreased by 4.7% and 20.4% at these temperatures. In the case of A283-C, the average yield stress increased 8.8% and 9.8%, the average tensile stress increased by 4.1% and 5.9%, and the average elongation rate decreased by 7.4% and 9.9% at $-20^{\circ}C$ and $-40^{\circ}C$, respectively. For A285-C, the average yield stress increased by 1.8% and 8.6%, and the average tensile stress increased by 2.6% and 5.3%, respectively, but there was little change in the average elongation. Finally, for SB410, the average yield stress increased by 7.1% and 11.8%, the average tensile stress increased by 4.3% and 5.5%, but the average elongation rate decreased by 8.7% and 13.5%, respectively.

  • ChiroSil RCA(+) and SCA(-) HPLC chiral stationary phases (CSPs) developed by covalently bonding (+)- and (-)-(18-crown-6)-2,3,11,12-tetracarboxylic acid (18-C-6-T A) to silica gel were employed for enantioresolution of racemic amino compounds, respectively. Also, these 18-C-6-TA covalently bonded CSPs were compared to a commercially available Crownpak CR CSP prepared by coating chiral crown ether as a chiral selector on ODS column. (omitted)

  • Friction material in a piezoelectric system is a important part to affect to moving performance. In this paper, alumina ceramics $(AlO_2)$, silicon carbide (SiC), high speed steel and super-hard alloy (WC, Tungsten Carbide) having a hardness knoop of 1000 to 2000 $kg/mm^2$ were tested as a friction material of AF module. Even though $AlO_2$, SiC and high speed steel were a high-hardness material, $AlO_2$ and SiC were worn by a rough surface, and SiC is rusted in humidity condition. AF module using super-hard alloy has showed a stable moving performance in life time test.

  • B. C. Berndt computed the Fourier series of a class of generalized Eisenstein series, which gives an analytic continuation to the generalized Eisenstein series. In this paper, continuing his work, we consider generalized non-holomorphic Eisenstein series and give an analytic continuation to the $s$-plane.

  • C. sinensis total RMh was containing large amount of 185 rRNA but little 285 rRNA. The size of the double-stranded cDNA synthesized from poly $(A)^{+}$ mRNA was 0.4-4.2 kb long with tapering unto 9.5 kb. Degenerated oligonucleotides (as 2 sense and 3 antisense Primers) were designed on the conserved regions of the known tropomyosin amino acid sequences. From one out of the PCR amplifications using total CDNA and matrix of primers, a specific gene product, 580 bp in size, was produced. Upon Southern hybridization of the PCR products with Schistosomn mnnsoni tropomyosin (SMTM) CDNA, only one signal appeared at the band of 580 bp product. This 580 bp product was considered to encode C. sinensis tropomyosin (CSTM) and cloned in pGEM-3Zf(-) for DNA sequencing. CSTM cDNA was 575 bp containing one open reading frame of 191 predicted amino acids, which revealed 86.3% homology with SMTM and 51.1% with rrichostronsylur coeubnlormis tropomyosin. CSTM cDNA obtained will serve as a probe in the studies of molecular cloning of CSTM.

  • Let $\mathcal{A}$ be a unital $C^*$-algebra. It is shown that additive map ${\delta}:{\mathcal{A}}{\rightarrow}{\mathcal{A}}$ which satisfies $${\delta}({\mid}x{\mid}x)={\delta}({\mid}x{\mid})x+{\mid}x{\mid}{\delta}(x),\;{\forall}x{{\in}}{\mathcal{A}}_N$$ is a Jordan derivation on $\mathcal{A}$. Here, $\mathcal{A}_N$ is the set of all normal elements in $\mathcal{A}$. Furthermore, if $\mathcal{A}$ is a semiprime $C^*$-algebra then ${\delta}$ is a derivation.

  • Caenorhabditis elegans undergoes a developmental molting process that involves a coordinated interplay among diverse intracellular pathways. Here, we investigated the functions of two fatty acid biosynthesis genes; pod-2, encoding acetyl-CoA carboxylase, and fasn-1, encoding fatty acid synthase, in the C. elegans molting process. Although both the pod-2 and fasn-1 genes were expressed at constant levels throughout C. elegans development, knockdown of the proteins encoded by these genes using RNA interference produced severe defects in triglyceride production, molting, and reproduction that were coupled to suppression of NAS-37, a metalloprotease. An assessment of the structure and integrity of the cuticle using a COL-19::GFP marker and Hoechst 33258 staining showed that downregulation of either pod-2 or fasn-1 impaired cuticle formation and disrupted the integrity of the cuticle and the hypodermal membrane.
