  • The use of permanent magnet motors have increased as controlled motors throughout the world. According to the development of magnetic materials and control technology, the motors are required to small size and compact design. Therefore it is introduced for servo motor to be contented with the characteristics of CNC machine tools in this paper. It is represented for the result of design, analysis, manufacture and test of the motor.

  • This Paper is about the study that design performance and reliability measurement circuits of the IPM which is an intelligent switching switch module included at an inverter circuits for driving of A.C. Servo motors in home appliance. IPM is a core device of motor driver and it's switching characteristics should be retained uniformly during the driving of a servo system. All of it's specification, the collector emitter switch on voltage Vce(on) spec. is very important. As the IPM are core part of inverters and producing from several brands and versions, for optimal performances of application systems a method and measurement & evaluation system to measure Vce(on) value, collector emitter switch on voltage, of the IPM IGBT switches with various brands are required. Especially, the proposed method can measure and evaluate Vce(on) values of IPM with load at mounting state on the motor driving circuits and proposed measurement & evaluation system can be important instrument systems for IPM user companies.

  • In this study, we design a position controller for two axis servo system. The position controller performs numerical control(NC)to DC or AC servo motor or step motor, and also has a digital input/output sequence capability. The control program composed of position and sequence command, which is called channel, is programmed easily and user-interactively. And it is interpreted and the straight line and arc position command is interpolated. We develop the Z80 microprocessor based system and the software with assembly and C language, and also PC based graphic simulator for the debugging and educational purposes.

  • Recently, SRMs are used in automobiles for power assistant steering, accessory motion control and traction drives. Especially in the motion control and traction drives, safety and efficiency are of paramount importance. The paper describes the essential elements faced in designing and constructing driving circuits for a switched reluctance motor for automobiles. An important factor in the selection of a motor and a drive for industrial application is the cost. The switched reluctance motor(SRM) is a simple, low-cost, and robust motor suitable for variable-speed as well as servo-type applications. With relatively simple converter and control requirements, the SRM is gaining an increasing attention in the drive industry. This paper presents a modified C-dump converter for Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) machine application in the cooling system of automobiles. The experiments are performed to verify the capability of applicate control method on 6/4 salient type SRM.

  • This study is to improve position accuracy by selecting proper a servo motor and applying FOC(Field Oriented Control) on developing a 3D terrestrial laser scanner. A 3D terrestrial laser scanner under developing has range of scanning of azimuth 360$^\circ$and elevation 270$^\circ$. It is implemented by precise controlling of a azimuth motor and a elevation motor. In the consequence of study, we have known that position accuracy of the motor can be able to be improved with constant torque of the motor by using FOC(Field Oriented Control). The control technic of the motor is possible to apply a 3D terrestrial laser scanner as well as a robotic total station.

  • A cutting machine for freeform hull surfaces of ship models is developed and a servo system is employed for tool path control. The servo system consists of BLDC(Blushless DC) motor, control driver and host controller. Also PI controller is applied for precision processing. GUI(Graphic User Interface) was realized by visual c++ for the convenience of users. Free form surfaces are formed by the cutting machine developed in the Ocean Engineering Wide Tank of the University of Ulsan.

  • Recently with the development of power switching device and DSP which has perip -heral devices to control AC servo system, the servo technology has met a new development opportunity. In this study, a DSP based AC servo system with a 3-phase PMSM is proposed. The newly produced DSP TMX320F2812 version C which has the performance of fast speed, 150MIPS, and rich peripheral interface is used. Also space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) and the digital PI control are implemented to the servo control system.

  • This paper presents a PM type BLDC(Brushless DC) Motor servo drive system using high performance DSP TMS320F2812. The DSP controller with 150MIPS enables an enhanced real time implementation and increased efficiency and high performance for motor drive. The suggested drive system consists of PI action for the constant speed control and PID action for the current control with only 3 Halls, no encoders. The developed servo drive control system shows a good response speed characteristics at high speed up to 10000 [rpm].

  • The idea of expert control is to incoporate a rule based expert system in a feedback control system. In this paper, we present some heuristic rules about input requlation and supervision and turning for D.C servo motor speed control in variable. The expert auto-turning PID controller which heuristic rules are used as an element of the feedback control system is implemented with the numerical algorithms and heuristic logics. The accurate control function is confirmed by computer simulation.
