  • The study was conducted to analyze the spatio-temporal changes in water quality of the major 36 sampling stations of Nakdong River, depending on each station, season using the 17 water quality variables from 2000 to 2010. The result was verified to interpret the characteristics of water quality variables in a more accurate manners. According to the Principal component analysis (PCA) and Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) results; the results of these analyses were identified 4 factors, Factor 1 (nutrients) included the concentrations of T-N, T-P, $NO_{3}-N$, $PO_{4}-P$, DTN, DTP for sampling station and season, Factor 2 (organic pollutants) included the concentrations of BOD, COD, Chl-a, Factor 3 (microbes) included the concentrations of F.Coli, T.Coli, and Factor 4 (others) included the concentrations of pH, DO. The results of a Cluster analysis indicated that Geumhogang 6 was the most contaminated site, while tributaries and most of the down stream sites of Nakdong River were mainly affected by each nutrients (Factor 1) and organic pollutants (Factor 2). The verification consequence of Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) from Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) result can be summarized as follows: we could find additional relations between variables besides the structure from EFA, which we obtained through the second-order final modeling adopted in CFA. Nutrients had the biggest impact on water pollution for each sampling station and season. In particular, It was analyzed that P-series pollutant should be controlled during spring and winter and N-series pollutant should be controlled during summer and fall.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel power factor compensation system using slidac. The proposed power factor compensation system compensates the power factor by adjusting the output voltage of the slidac. In the conventional power factor compensation system using capacitor bank method, the power factor compensation error occurs depending on the load condition due to the limitation of the compensation capacitor capacity. However, the proposed system can finely change slidac output voltage applied to the capacitor, therefore power factor can be compensated up to 100% without error. We compare the proposed system with the conventional system, and confirm that the proposed system has excellent power factor compensation performance through simulations and experiments. If the proposed power factor compensation system is applied to an industrial field, a power factor compensation performance can be maximized. As a result, it is possible to reduce of electricity prices, reduce of line loss, increase of load capacity, ensure the transmission margin capacity, and reduce the amount of power generation.

Jamil A.A.Anache et al의 연구결과에 명시된 C factor 산정식을 적용하여 식생피복 변화에 따른 C factor를 산정하였다.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop an instrument to measure the parenting behavior of primary caregivers of children in early childhood. Methods: An instrument was developed according to Devellis's instrument development process. The participants in this study who completed the main survey were 370 mothers and grandmothers. The survey was conducted from June 1 to July 30, 2014, and collected data were analyzed using item analysis, half-split reliability and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficient, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, convergent validity. Results: The factor structure of the instrument showed the cumulative variance as 55.7% in the factor analysis. As a result of a confirmatory factor analysis, a four-factor structure was found to be appropriate, and the construct validity and convergent validity of the instrument were thereby confirmed. The finalized parenting behavior instrument consisted of 26 items and four independent factors: affectionate, laissez-faire, educational and impulsive. A five-point Likert scale was employed, and a higher score in a particular factor showed that most of the behaviors belonged to the factor. Conclusion: The instrument developed in this study was found to be reliable and valid, and can be used to develop parent-child relationship building.

  • Recently, the needs and concerns for the power loss are increasing according to the energy conservation at the level of the national policies and power utilities's business strategies. Especially, the issue of the power loss is the main factor for the determining the electric pricing rates in the circumstances of the deregulation of electrical industry. However, because of the lacking of management for power loss load factors (LLF), it is difficult to make a calculation for the power loss and to make a decision for the electric rates. And loss factor(k-factor), which is a most important factor for calculation of the distribution power loss, has been used as a fixed value of 0.32 since the fiscal year 1973. Therefore, This study presents the statistical calculation methods of the loss factors classified by load types and seasons by using the practical data of 65 primary feeders which are selected by proper procedures. Based on the above the algorithms and methods, the optimal method of the distribution loss management classified by facilities such as primary feeders, distribution transformers and secondary feeders is presented. The simulation results show the effectiveness and usefulness of the proposed methods.

  • Let a and b be nonnegative integers with 2 $\leq$ a < b, and let G be a Hamiltonian graph of order n with n > $\frac{(a+b-5)(a+b-3)}{b-2}$. An [a, b]-factor F of G is called a Hamiltonian [a, b]-factor if F contains a Hamiltonian cycle. In this paper, it is proved that G has a Hamiltonian [a, b]-factor if $\delta(G)\;\geq\;\frac{(a-1)n+a+b-3)}{a+b-3}$ and $\delta(G)$ > $\frac{(a-2)n+2{\alpha}(G)-1)}{a+b-4}$.

  • Manning's roughness factor to flow in sand-bed channels may be divided into the grain roughness factor nd the form roughness factor. The grain roughness factor may be dedermined by using Keulegan's formula. By using available experimental data, it was found there is a unique relationship between the form roughness and the hydraulic radius to sediment particle size ratio for a given value of the Froude number. The form roughness and the bed form may be determined by using this unique relationship. The technique for engineering applications of the results appears to be quite simple.

  • For Near-field Scanning Optical Microscopy measurements, the fiber tip is glued on the side of one of the tuning fork prongs vertically to its extended direction. Higher Q-factor is attainable in this geometry than in the arrangement with the fiber tip parallel to the prong. A simple mechanical design is applied to hold the fiber tip above the gluing point. The overall tuning fork-fiber tip assembly gives another advantage of the flexible Q-factor enhancement. With this treatment, Q-factor higher than 3000 is easily achievable. As an operating instance, a grating is scanned for its one dimensional topographical image.
