완전 디지털 다중경로발생기 (A Full Digital Multipath Generator)

  • 다중경로발생기는 일반적으로 시간지연발생부, 위상발생부, 감쇠발생부로 구성되며 주로 애널로그 방식으로 구현되어왔다. 따라서 경년변화가 발생할 수 있으며 여러 번의 A/D 변환, D/A변환과정으로 인한 신호의 충실도 저하, 미세지연을 위해 높은 주파수를 필요로 하는 단점이 있다. 본 논문은 다중경로 현상을 수학적으로 모델링하여 완전히 디지털 방식으로 구현하는 방법을 제안한다. 특히 시간지연부는 두 개의 블록으로 나누어 한 블록에서는 샘플단위의 시간지연을 만들고 나머지 한 블록에서는 섭샘플(subsample) 시간지연을 만들 수 있도록 하여 정밀한 시간지연값을 효율적으로 얻을 수 있도록 했다. 또한 시스템의 마스터 주파수도 특정한 값으로 고정할 필요도 없도록 하였다. 제안한 방법을 완전히 디지털 하드웨어로 구현해 본 논문에서 제안한 다중경로 발생 알고리듬의 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • An electro hydraulic poppet valve (EHPV) and a variable orifice poppet are assembled in a single block, which is referred to as a RHINO but is also generally called a pilot-operated flow control valve. In this study, we analyzed the structure and the operating principle for a RHINO applied in a 21-ton electric excavator system. The RHINO was experimentally tested to measure the dynamic responses and the pressure energy loss. In this test, we investigated the variation in the conductance coefficient according to the increase in the supply pressure under a constant current and a variation in the flow rate according to the increase in the current. Then, the geometrical shapes and the spring stiffness of the RHINO were considered to develop an analysis model. The characteristics (current-force and hysteresis) for the solenoid based on the experimental data were reflected in the analysis model that was developed, and the reliability of the analysis model was also verified by comparing the experimental and analytical results. The developed model is thus considered to be reliable for use in a wide range of applications, including optimum design, sensitivity analysis, parameter tuning, etc.

비디오 서버를 위한 예약기반 하이브리드 디스크 대역폭 절감 정책의 설계 및 평가 (Design and Evaluation of a Reservation-Based Hybrid Disk Bandwidth Reduction Policy for Video Servers)

  • 주문형 비디오 시스템의 성능에서 핵심적인 문제는 클라이언트 요청들을 만족시키기 위해 요구되는 비디오 서버의 입.출력 대역폭이다. 이는 지연시간을 증가시키는 원인이 되는 중요한 자원이다. 따라서, 공유를 통하여 비디오 서버 입.출력 요청을 감소시키는 일괄처리 및 피기백킹 등의 다양한 방법들이 사용되고 있다. 일괄처리 정책은 같은 객체에 대한 요청들을 묶어서 기억장치 서버에 대한 하나의 입.출력 요청을 만드는 것이고, 피기백킹 정책은 대응하는 입.출력 스트림들을 그룹으로 서비스할 수 있는 하나의 스트림으로 병합하기 위하여 진행중인 요청들의 디스플레이 율을 변경하는 정책이다. 본 논문에서는 인기 있는 비디오에 대한 요청들의 가능한 한 스케쥴링 되도록 비디오 서버의 입.출력 스트림 용량을 비디오 요청 도착율에 따라 동적으로 예약해 둔다. 그리고 일괄처리의 단점인 스트림 요청 지연시간과 피기백킹의 문제점은 디스크 대역폭 낭비 등을 해결하는 예약기반 하이브리드 디스크 대역폭 절감 정책을 제안한다. 제안한 정책의 성능은 시뮬레이션을 통해 기존의 일괄처리와 피기백킹 정책들과 비교 평가한다. 시뮬레이션 결과에 따르면, 예약기반 하이브리드 디스크 대역폭 절감 정책이 기존의 일괄처리나 피기백킹 정책들에 비해 낮은 서비스 이탈확률과 높은 프레임 절약 백분율 그리고 일정한 서비스 평균대기시간을 제공함을 알 수 있다.

0.18 um CMOS 공정을 이용한 UWB 단일 입력-차동 출력 이득 제어 저잡음 증폭기 설계 (A Design of Ultra Wide Band Single-to-Differential Gain Controlled Low Noise Amplifier Using 0.18 um CMOS)

  • 본 논문에서는 CMOS 0.18 um 공정을 이용하여 UWB(Ultra Wide Band) 시스템의 낮은 대역 $3.1{\sim}4.8GHz$에서 사용할 수 있는 단일 입력-차동 출력 이득 제어 저잡음 증폭기를 설계하였다. 측정 결과는 높은 이득 모드에서 차동 출력 전력 이득은 각각 $14.1{\sim}15.8dB,\;13.3{\sim}15dB$로, 입력 반사 계수는 -10dB 이하로, lIIP3는 -19.3dBm, 잡음 지수는 $4.85{\sim}5.09dB$로 측정되었으며, 이때 전원 전압 1.8V에서 사용 전력은 19.8 mW를 사용하였다. 낮은 이득 모드에서 차동 출력 전력 이득은 각각 $-6.1{\sim}-4.2dB,\;-7.6{\sim}-5.6dB$로, 입력 반사 계수는 -10dB 이하로, IIP3는 -1.45 dBm, 잡음 지수는 $8.8{\sim}10.3dB$로 측정되었으며, 이때 전원 전압 1.8V에서 사용 전력은 5.4mW를 사용하였다.

Efficient and Precise Construction of Markerless Manipulations in the Bacillus subtilis Genome

  • We have developed an efficient and precise method for genome manipulations in Bacillus subtilis that allows rapid alteration of a gene sequence or multiple gene sequences without altering the chromosome in any other way. In our approach, the Escherichia coli toxin gene mazF, which was used as a counter-selectable marker, was placed under the control of a xylose-inducible expression system and associated with an antibiotic resistance gene to create a "mazF-cassette". A polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-generated fragment, consisting of two homology regions joined to the mazF-cassette, was integrated into the chromosome at the target locus by homologous recombination, using positive selection for antibiotic resistance. Then, the excision of the mazF-cassette from the chromosome by a single-crossover event between two short directly repeated (DR) sequences, included in the design of the PCR products, was achieved by counter-selection of mazF. We used this method efficiently and precisely to deliver a point mutation, to inactivate a specific gene, to delete a large genomic region, and to generate the in-frame deletion with minimal polar effects in the same background.

  • Software product lines (SPLs) are complex software systems by nature due to their common reference architecture and interdependencies. Therefore, any form of evolution can lead to a more complex situation than a single system. On the other hand, software product lines are developed keeping long-term perspectives in mind, which are expected to have a considerable lifespan and a long-term investment. SPL development organizations need to consider software evolution in a systematic way due to their complexity and size. Addressing new user requirements over time is one of the most crucial factors in the successful implementation SPL. Thus, the addition of new requirements or the rapid context change is common in SPL products. To cope with rapid change several researchers have discussed the evolution of software product lines. However, for the evolution of an SPL, the literature did not present a systematic process that would define activities in such a way that would lead to the rapid evolution of software. Our study aims to provide a requirements-driven process that speeds up the requirements engineering process using social network sites in order to achieve rapid software evolution. We used classification, topic modeling, and sentiment extraction to elicit user requirements. Lastly, we conducted a case study on the smartwatch domain to validate our proposed approach. Our results show that users' opinions can contain useful information which can be used by software SPL organizations to evolve their products. Furthermore, our investigation results demonstrate that machine learning algorithms have the capacity to identify relevant information automatically.

여성전용 셰어하우스의 지역 분포특성과 의미에 관한 연구 - 서울의 운영사 관리형 현장 사례를 중심으로 - (Regional Distribution Characteristics and Meanings of Women-only Shared Housings - A Case Study of Agency-managed Shared Housings in Seoul -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the distribution characteristics of the agency-managed shared housings in Seoul and draw the possible implications from it. The needed data for the study was obtained from an on-line shared housing portal service which provides housing information from various shared housing management agencies. By mapping out the locations and other related data into a GIS(Geographic Information System) program, this study shows that shared housings in Seoul can be sorted into four large clusters. Each cluster has a different ratio of housing types and room capacities reflecting each regional circumstance and common causes. Women-only shared housing takes up 79% of the overall shared housing ratio and, while multi-family housing type has the most count, the apartment type has a noticeably high ratio in women-only housing compared to the apartment type ratio among the other gender-specific housings. Given the high crime rate against the single-person household of young adult women, the reason for the popularity of shared-apartment housing among young women can be deduced. However, the potential tenants' practical choices and their concern for safety are not the only causes that drive the current shared housing market. The young adults in their 20's and 30's choose to live in popular places where they can engage social activities. A new tier of shared housing market has also appeared in places where young adults could not have afforded if they lived alone. Choosing where we live is no longer about just meeting the requirements for a house based on what she/he needs but also about satisfying the preferences for a living based on what she/he desires. This paper indicates that although there is an undeniable premise that 'sharing a house' revolves around the realm of housing welfare and is not a typical topic for the upper-income households, the way we live and how we choose our place to live is shifting.

요양병원 외래 및 중앙진료부의 의료영역 간 연결관계에 관한 연구 (Study on the Network System between of the Outpatient and Central Treatment Department of Long Term Care Hospitals)

  • Purpose: As our population ages and becomes an elderly society the number of elderly care hospitals is rapidly increasing. Because physical functions and spatial perception in the elderly decrease with age, these hospitals require more systematic and intelligent space designs. The design of these spaces are even more complex because they must accommodate medical programs to treat various different diseases and ailments and also because there are many first time patients and irregular short term patients that seek out outpatient treatment services. Also by analyzing the spatial configuration systems and systematic relationships between each of the functional spaces of the outpatient treatment service departments for hospitals specialized in care for the elderly by focusing on the hallway and corridor systems of these hospitals, the according characteristics and trends were examined. Methods: Based on preceding research, the types of hallway and corridor systems of these hospitals were categorized into five types, including gallery corridors, middle corridors, hall-type, mixed type and cyclic type corridors, and into six types according to function including by medical diagnosis, patient registration, examination, administration and convenience and shared common space to derive any interconnecting relationships between the corridor systems. Also by comprehensively examining the types and combined utilization of the corridor types and the integration and the intelligibility of the space syntax, any trends within the corridor system were derived. The elderly care hospitals examined in this research study were twelve hospitals that opened after the year 2000 in Korea with more that 150 sick beds with areas larger than $1000m^2$ and with all outpatient medical service related rooms located entirely on a single floor of the hospital. Results: The following results could be confirmed based on this research study. 1) The spaces where medical diagnosis and examination occurred were adjacent, and the movement lines for first time patients and re-visiting patients were taken into consideration by separating the treatment space. 2) This research study confirmed that the larger the size of the hospital was, there were more detailed categorizations of treatment services and that there was a tendency for treatment areas to be separated and independent from examination areas. 3) There was a tendency for integration and intelligibility to decrease the more complex and diverse the combination of hall types designed into the corridor systems of these hospitals was. cyclic type corridors dramatically decreased the intelligibility of the corridor systems of these hospitals. 4) The priority rank of these spaces were confirmed to be highest in the order of registration, diagnosis, examination, treatment, administration and shared common spaces. However it was confirmed for the local integration that the diagnosis scope had the highest priority rank. Implications: There were exceptional cases confirmed where the number of unit spaces did not have an absolute effect on integration and intelligibility. These results can be interpreted to mean that this can be overcome through efficient architectural planning.

MB-OFDM 방식의 UWB 시스템을 위한 CMOS LNA 설계 (Design of a CMOS LNA for MB-OFDM UWB Systems)

  • 본 논문에서는 MB-OFDM 방식의 초광대역 시스템 응용을 위한 단일 단 cascode 구조의 CMOS 저잡음증폭기를 설계하였다. 광대역 ($3.1GHz\~4.9GHz$) 입력 매칭은 칩 면적과 잡음지수를 줄이기 위해 간단한 대역 통과 필터를 사용하여 수행하였다. $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS 공정변수를 사용하여 모의실험 한 결과, 설계된 증폭기는 9.7dB의 최대 이득, $2.1GHz\~7.1GHz$의 3dB 대역폭, 2dB의 최소잡음지수, -2dBm의 IIP3, -11.8dB 이하의 입력 반사 손실 특성을 보이며, 1.8V 공급 전원전압에 25.8mW의 전력을 소모한다. 칩면적은 패드를 포함해서 $0.74mm^2$이다.

스위칭 잡음 감소기법을 이용한 10비트 80MHz CMOS D/A 변환기 설계 (Design of The 10bit 80MHz CMOS D/A Converter with Switching Noise Reduction Method)

  • 본 논문에서는 무선 통신 응용 시스템에 적합 하도록 10비트 80MHz 전류구동 방식의 D/A 변환기를 제안하였다. 제안한 회로는 $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS n-well 1-poly 6-metal 공정을 이용하여 구현하였다. 10비트 중에서 LSB 4비트는 이진 디코더를 사용 하였으며, ULSB 3비트와 MSB 3비트는 온도계 디코더를 사용한 혼합구조를 채택하였다. 구현된 D/A 변환기의 측정결과, 샘플링 주파수가 80MHz, 입력 주파수 1MHz에서 SFDR은 60.42 dBc, 유효비트수는 8.75 비트를 보여주었다. INL/DNL은 ${\pm}$0.38LSB/${\pm}$0.32LSB로 측정되었으며, 글리치 에너지는 4.6 $pV{\cdot}s$로 나타났다. 전력 소모는 1.8V 전원전압에서 최대 속도인 80MHz일 때 48mW로 측정되었다.
