Study on the Design Method Development of Crash Cushion Using Single Degree of Freedom (단자유도계를 이용한 충격흡수시설의 설계법 개발)

  • The most important thing for driver's safety on the road is equipment of crash cushion as a vehicle protection safety facility. But development of crash cushion is defective because there's no rational and reality way of design. And also without an alternative plan, it rely on crash test hereby it suffers a great economic loss and wastes time. This study that uses data of cash test proves the suitability of single degree of freedom which considers the safety of passengers about three-dimensional complicated Crash Analysis. As the study analyzes the conduct of crash cushion, it want to develop the effective method of design on Single Degree of Freedom Crash Cushion. And it presents the way of crash cushion design through making a crash analysis model with single degree of freedom. To verify the validness of the crash cushion plan, with single degree of freedom plan, we make the level CC2 crash cushion and execute the crash test. A performance test brings satisfied result and a plan of single degree of freedom crash cushion is proven as an one of the way to be a good system which can design crash cushion.

  • Output voltage waves of a DC/AC inverter system are likely to be distorted if variable loads e.g. motors or rectifiers exist in the output terminal. This paper designs a disturbance observer-based PI controller for a single-phase inverter system that is robust against load changes. In this paper, we regard the output voltage changes due to various loads as disturbances of the control system, Then we design a disturbance observer for estimation of the disturbances caused by the load current and any other error sources (such as parameter uncertainties and model mismatches etc.). In order to test the performance of the proposed control law, simulation studies are carried out for a single-phase inverter system using SimPowerSystems of Matlab Simulink. Compared to a simple PI control, the disturbance observer-based controller shows enhanced performance in transient responses for step load changes.

Web-based Design System of Gear Drive (웹 기반 치차장치 설계 시스템 개발)

  • There have been continuous efforts for developing the automatic mechanical design system to increase the efficiency of the tedious design process. However, these efforts have been concentrated on single platform application. Hence, the developed systems have been available only in a designated place and time and have been difficult to modify. It is proposed in this study that a web-based design system is developed to offer more reliability and convenience without any restriction of tine and place. The developed system is programed based on Java, and architecture of the system has object-oriented features of Servlet and JSP and is independent on any operating systems. The developed system has been applied to the initial design of multi-stage gear dirves but however as the framework of the developed system is quite versatile, its application to automatic design of any mechanical system or evaluation can be easily expected.

  • A Low cost and variable speed brushless motor drive system with single switch per phase is presented. The motor drive is realized with a novel two-phase flux-reversal-free switched reluctance motor and a split AC two switch converter. The strategy of the controller and the converter for its realization are described. Comparisons between a split AC converter, asymmetric converter, split DC converter, single controllable switch converter, and N+1 converter are performed for its device rating, cost, switching losses and conduction losses, and converter efficiency. The split AC converter is analyzed and simulated to verify the characteristics of the converter circuitry and control feasibility and the simulation results are presented. The efficiency with various loads is numerically estimated and experimentally compared from viewpoint of subsystem and system in details. The focus of this paper is to compare the presented motor drive system to the asymmetric converter system throughout experiments and demonstrate single switch per phase converter having comparable efficiency as the asymmetric converter system.

  • We design a homing guidance law based on the proportional navigation for the fast-rolling, single-axis control missiles and analyse the misdistance of the designed guidance system. The guidance law includes a compensation scheme which compensates for the phase-shift between the commanded and achieved acceleration which is peculiar to the fast rolling airframe with single-axis control. In the error analysis of the guidance system, we calculate the misdistance with respect to the target maneuver on the 3-dimensional space via direct simulations. Also, we conduct adjoint simulation on the 2-dimensional plane in case that phase-shift is perfectly compensated. Finally we approximate the linear time-varying dynamics of the missile with autopilot to a linear time-invarient system, and as a result we can find the misdistance as a closed-form.

  • Control Moment Gyroscope(CMG) is one of the most efficient momentum exchange devices for satellite attitude control and essential device for agile maneuver system. This paper presents the details of a designed Single Gimbal CMG with a constant speed momentum wheel and single axis attitude control unstable to stable. In order to keep the naturally unstable equivalent point, it should be controlling the gimbal constantly. The experimental data are compared with theoretical result and requirements are used to verify their performance specifications.

  • As one of the most important vertical transportation equipment in super high-rise buildings, the construction elevator directly affects the project period, cost, and effectiveness. The paper proposes a new construction elevator with single-guide rail and multi-cages. It can solve the problems of single construction elevator capacity shortage and efficacy decrease with height reduction, the occupancy of plan and elevation position of multiple construction elevators, and extension of total construction period by cycling operation of multi-cages on a single-guide rail. The paper focuses on the design and research of the main components of the equipment, such as the rotating guide rail mechanism, vertical bearing mast tie system, segmented electrical power supply system, group control scheduling system, and safety anti-collision system.

  • In this paper a VLSI design for the automatic magnetizing and inspection system has been presented. This is a design of a peripheral controller, which magnetizes CRTs and computer monitors and controls the automatic inspection system. We implemented a programmable peripheral interface(PPI) circuit of the control and protocol module for the magnetizer controller by using a 0.8um CMOS SOG technology of ETRI. Most of the PPI functions have been confirmed. In the conventional method, the propagation/ramp delay model was used to predict the delay of cells, but used to model on only a single cell. Later, a modified "linear delay predict model" was suggested in the LODECAP(LOgic DEsign CAPture) by adding some factors to the prior model. But this has not a full model on the delay chain. In this paper a new " delay predict equation" for the design of the timing control block in PPI system has been suggested. We have described the detail method on a design of delay chain block according to the extracted equation and applied this method to the timing control block design. And we had descriptions on the other blocks of this system.

  • Input shaping is an efficient tool to eliminate transient and residual vibration caused by motion of mechanical systems. However, the rise time of the systems tends to increase due to the presence of input shapers. This paper is concerned with the rise time reduction when using input shaping. To this end, this paper proposes an input shaper design method for an undamped single mode vibration system using a virtual mode, which is not an actual mode but reflected in the design process. The essence of the proposed method is to design a three-impulse input shaper as if a single mode system has two modes: one actual mode and one virtual mode. The natural frequency of the virtual mode is a design parameter to change the rise time of the system. This paper discusses the performance of the proposed input shapers by simulation.
