  • Screen-based games often go to many places to install. In this case, there may be a change in the sensor or a difficulty in installation due to a difference in space configuration. Also, it is meaningful to experience the same thing as a real game, but there are cases where it is necessary to control the degree of difficulty to make it feel more fun. In this paper In the process of developing a screen archery game, which is a sensible game similar to screen golf, we will introduce a technique that facilitates installation according to changes in space. And we will explain how to control game difficulty automatically according to user's skill. And we will show you the results of the experiment.

  • In this paper, a method for simultaneously realizing the sum and difference patterns which are required in the monopulse radar sensor systems, is presented by using single taper array antenna with rectangular microstrip patches. The widths of patches are first determined by the voltage weights which are synthesized for the fundamental array factor patterns to be applied to the monopulse operation by using the sidelobe levels(SLLs) control technique. As the bi-directionally series-fed technique is applied and the lengths of connecting lines between patches are appropriately adjusted, the single array generates two phase-shifted beams which activates out-of-phase and in-phase ports of a $180^{\circ}$ hybrid coupler to synthesize the sum and difference patterns. The simulated results on the configuration designed at 9.5 GHz are compared with measured results showing the validity of the proposed method.

  • This work reports the pulse diagnosis system using FBG sensors which can display pulse signals detected while oriental medical doctors are conducting pulse diagnoses and simultaneously pressing the sensors by three fingers. Each optical fiber has five FBG sensing units fabricated in 2 mm width and 2 mm inter-sensor spacing. Three optical fibers with the FBG units in the parallel line configuration are then placed on each finger-pressing region and thus overall 9 fibers are used for the pulse measurements on the so-called "chon", "gwan", and "ch대k". A fixture holding the optical fiber arrays is able to adjust the height of the FBG sensing units while placing the fibers on the wrist. The pulse signals detected by the FBG sensors from chon, kwan, and chuk have been analyzed using 4 channel spectrum analyzer connected to the optical fibers. The measured pulse signals exhibit variations due to the nonuniform pressure distributions applied. resulting in the differences in the detected pulse signals between fiber lines. However. this work is the first step towards objective and quantitative analyses of the pulse diagnosis in oriental medicine which has traditionally been performed on subjective basis. Future works will be devoted to improving sensor stability, developing the way applying pressure and algorithms reporting the objective classification of the pulse status from systemic measurements using the sensors instead of relying on the clinicians' diagnoses subjectively performed. A successful pulse diagnosis system emerging in the future is expected to contribute to education as well as promoting pulse diagnosis in oriental medicine to the scientific research area.

  • In this paper, the analytical fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) is presented using model-based and signal-based methodology with wavelet analysis on signals obtained from sensors and sensor networks. In the model-based FDD, we present the modeling of contact interface found in soft materials, including the biomedical contacts. Fingerprint analysis and signal-based FDD are also presented with an experimental framework consisting of a mechanical pneumatic system typically found in manufacturing automation. This diagnosis system focuses on the signal-based approach which employs multi-resolution wavelet decomposition of various sensor signals such as pressure, flow rate, etc., to determine leak configuration. Pattern recognition technique and analytical vectorized maps are developed to diagnose an unknown leakage based on the established FDD information using the affine mapping. Experimental studies and analysis are presented to illustrate the FDD methodology. Both model-based and wavelet-based FDD applied in contact interface and manufacturing automation have implication towards better quality of life by applying theory and practice to understand how effective diagnosis can be made using intelligent FDD. As an illustration, a model-based contact surface technology an benefit the diabetes with the detection of abnormal contact patterns that may result in ulceration if not detected and treated in time, thus, improving the quality of life of the patients. Ultimately, effective diagnosis using FDD with wavelet analysis, whether it is employed in biomedical applications or manufacturing automation, can have impacts on improving our quality of life.

  • The versatility of a human hand is what the researchers eager to mimic. As one of the attempt, the redundant degree of freedom in the human hand is considered. However, in the force domain the redundant joint causes a control issue. To solve this problem, the force control method for a redundant robotic hand which is similar to the human is proposed. First, the redundancy of the human hand is analyzed. Then, to resolve the redundancy in force domain, the artificial minimum energy point is specified and the restoring force is used to control the configuration of the finger other than the force in a null space. Finally, the method is verified experimentally with a commercial robot hand, called Allegro Hand with a force/torque sensor.

  • A new frequency weighing sensor was applied to grow Bi12GeO20 crystals in the auto-di-ameter control system of Czochralski method. The rotation rate was varied in the range of 23 to 21 rpm to preserve flat interface in a given heat configuration. To prevent the constitutional super-cooling from the evaporation loss, 105% stoichiometric amount of Bi2O3 was employed, equivalent to 6.18 molar ratio of Bi2O3 to GeO2. Transparent and light brown Bi12GeO20 single crystal in uniform diameter was grown. The dislocation density was determined to be 103/cm2 corresponding to the optical quality in commercial applications. The grown crystal measured diameter 25 mm and length 70 mm and the preferred growth direction was confirmed to be <110>.

  • Mock-up model can be applied to measure accurate performance data but difficult to apply the variables in experiment. There can be a slight experiment errors in Scale model, but various parameters can be applied for a objective experiment. This paper aims to compare the daylighting performance in 1, 1/5, 1/10 scale model of offices and analyze the experiment errors to certificate the influence of model experiment. To analyse daylighting performance, a comparison of a Mock-up model, sized $12.0m(w){\times}7.2m(l){\times}3.7m(h)$, designed for experimentation of daylighting systems and its 1:5, 1:10 scale model. It has an identical configuration of reference room and the test room. For the test room, the lightshelf system was designed as Micro-4 reflective material. To assess work plane illuminance and light factor, photometric sensors of each room were installed at work-plane(6 points) and exterior horizontal illuminance (1 point). And luminance of window, rare of the room was measured under clear sky. It is to be monitored by Agilent data logger, photometric sensor Li-cor and the Radiant Imaging ProMetric 1400. Comparisons with a light factor, increase-decrease ratio and luminance are discussed.

  • In this paper, the attitude and orbit control subsystem technology of new GEO communication and observation satellite using Sun sensors are introduced and analyzed. COMS is new GEO communication and Earth observation satellite based on EUROSTAR 3000 space bus technology. The attitude and orbit control subsystem of COMS adopts a configuration using three BASS and three LIASS Sun sensors to acquire the attitude error information in the specific reference frames. These Sun sensors are used to acquire Sun direction and to control the spacecraft to keep the relative attitude with respect to a reference Sun direction in both transfer and operational orbits. In this paper, the mathematical models of BASS and LIASS are described as well as their operational implementation in the flight software.

  • Recently, IoT systems are cloud-based, so that continuous and large amounts of data collected from sensor nodes are processed in the data server through the cloud. However, in the centralized configuration of large-scale cloud computing, computational processing must be performed at a physical location where data collection and processing take place, and the need for edge computers to reduce the network load of the cloud system is gradually expanding. In this paper, a cluster system consisting of 6 inexpensive Raspberry Pi boards was constructed to perform fast data processing. And we propose "Kubernetes cluster system(KCS)" for processing large data collection and analysis by model distribution and data pipeline method. To compare the performance of this study, an ensemble model of deep learning was built, and the accuracy, processing performance, and processing time through the proposed KCS system and model distribution were compared and analyzed. As a result, the ensemble model was excellent in accuracy, but the KCS implemented as a data pipeline proved to be superior in processing speed..

  • Many vibration-based global damage detection methods attempt to extract modal parameters from vibration signals as the main structural features to detect damage. The local flexibility method is one promising method that requires only the first few fundamental modes to detect not only the location but also the extent of damage. Generally, the mode shapes in the lateral degree of freedom are extracted from lateral vibration signals and then used to detect damage for a beam structure. In this study, a new approach which employs the mode shapes in the rotary degree of freedom obtained from the macro-strain vibration signals to detect damage of a beam structure is proposed. In order to facilitate the application of mode shapes in the rotary degree of freedom for beam structures, the local flexibility method is modified and utilized. The proposed rotary approach is verified by numerical and experimental studies of simply supported beams. The results illustrate potential feasibility of the proposed new idea. Compared to the method that uses lateral measurements, the proposed rotary approach seems more robust to noise in the numerical cases considered. The sensor configuration could also be more flexible and customized for a beam structure. Primarily, the proposed approach seems more sensitive to damage when the damage is close to the supports of simply supported beams.
