A Study on the Application of 3-D Sandwich Composite Structures to the Double-deck Light Train Carbody (3-D 복합재료 샌드위치 구조물의 2층 경전철 철도차량 구조체 적용성에 관한 연구)

  • Composites are very useful material for light train carbody due to its high specific strength and lightweight characteristics. The composites, called 3-D board, are developed with a special stitching method. In this process, the glass fiber fabrics of skin material and foam core material are stitched together with glass fiber thread. The glass thread in Z-axis turns into FRP form. The conventional delamination problem can be solved with 3-D sandwich structure. In addition, with the lower density of foam, the weight of the panel and the operation expenses can be highly reduced. To evaluate the usefulness of the 3-D board, the double-deck light train carbody is studied. The stress analyses are carried out under various loads and boundary conditions with FEM Code, ANSYS. On comparing with the aluminum carbody, 3-D board carbody can be reduced by about 2 ton for the total weight of carbody.

Effects of sound absorbent gypsum board in the ceiling on low-frequency heavyweight floor impact sound (흡음 석고보드 천장재에 의한 저주파 중량 바닥충격음의 저감 효과)

  • This study investigated effects of absorbent gypsum board in the ceiling on low-frequency heavyweight floor impact sound through sound absorption coefficient and floor impact sound measurement. The sound absorption coefficients were measured with sound absorbent gypsum board, glass wool on gypsum board, and a double panel absorbent gypsum board (absorbent gypsum board + glass wool + absorbent gypsum board). Result showed that the absorbent gypsum board had sound absorption coefficient of 0.1 ~ 0.7 from 200 and 630 Hz octave band. The sound absorption coefficient was increased in all frequency range by adding glass wool. Additional absorbent gypsum board increased sound absorption coefficient up to 250 Hz octave band, but decreased over 250 Hz. Heavyweight floor impact sounds were measured in test building for three materials above, gypsum board, and bare slab. Result showed that glass wool on gypsum board and a double panel absorbent gypsum board reduced by 3 dB ~ 4 dB (single number quantity) heavyweight floor impact sound. Comparing with bare slab condition, floor impact sound reduction was mainly found from 125 Hz to 500 Hz octave band, and the maximum reduction was shown in the 250 Hz octave band.

  • It was designed a high-speed analog input card that is a important device of ultrasonic testing flaw detector in the middle of non-destructive testing in this Paper. The A/D Board is inquired high-speed sampling rate and fast data acquisition system. This pater shows a design that has a function of Peak- Detection for ultrasonic testing by ISA Bus type and a 50MHz of A/D converter in order to do sampling more than quadruple frequency of transducer frequency.

  • This paper presents a feasibility study of an advanced IO board design for the next generation of low-earth orbit satellites. Advanced IO board design includes sensor interface, NO, D/A, Digital Module, Serial Module etc, and allows to process increasing data rates between IO board and CPU board. The higher data rate involved in modem IO board additionally introduce issues such as noise, fault tolerance, command and data handling, limited pin count and power consumption problems. The experience in KOMPSAT-l and 2 program with this kind of problems resulted in using SMCS chip set, a high speed serial link technology based on IEEE-1355 (Space Wire Protocol) (ESA-ESTEC 2003, Parkes 1999), as a standard for next generation of satellite IO board design.

Improved Link System of Schedule and 3D Object for Visualizing Effective 4D Model on Plant Project (플랜트 4D의 효율적 공정연계체계를 위한 일정 및 도면의 개선된 연계방법론 구축)

  • Existing 4D systems are using the 1:1 link system that directly links a schedule and a 3D model object. But considering that plant facility includes various kinds of schedule and 3D model object, this study suggests an improved link methodology of multi-selected objects and two-way link system for minimizing link errors which generated in case of multi-selected objects. For the link system, this study introduces a new concept called as interface board. Interface board can be used as an information center for representing all information of link items in the current project. It may be expected that 4D model can build an effective and rapid link system of plant project by this new approach.

  • In this paper, we present a way that can implement the vector control Algorithm of induction motor and PWM signal generation on the condition Matlab/Simulink. The overall system model is designed by Simulink toolbox for vector control in induction motor. and then implement experiment with the DS1103 board of dSPACE. Although we are not coding the system, it is capable of doing simulation and experiment simultaneously. That is why Matlab and dSPACE board compiler can generate the "*.c" and "*.obj" files on the designed system automatically. After considering about hardware structure and driving system in DS1103 board. we verify the availability of proposed method through making a comparison/analysis between simulation and experiment.

  • This paper describes the design and fabrication of a home-panel board for electromagnetic compatibility which can protect home-electric appliances from transient voltages and power line noise. The proposed panel board include a transient voltage blocking device and a EMI filter which consisted of varistors, capacitors, and bus line inductance.A performance test of the prototype panel board, blocking characteristics to transient voltages and reduction characteristics to power line noise, are carried out by using a combination surge generator standardized in IEC and a network analyzer.The results showed that the proposed panel board is satisfied with the surge immunity level of IEC 61000-4-5, and has an over 20[dB] noise reduction performance in ranges from 150[kHz]∼30[MHz].

  • This paper proposes an expert system to generate automatically the test table of test system which can highly enhance the quality and productivity of product by inspecting quickly and accurately the defect device on the electronic circuit board tested. The expert system identifies accurately the tested components and the circuit patterns by tracing automatically the connectivity of circuit from electronic circuit database. And it generates automatically the test table to detect accurately the missing components, the misplaced components, and the wrong components for analog components such as resistance, coil, condenser, diode, and transistor, based on the experience knowledge of veteran expert. It is implemented in C computer language for the purpose of the implementation of the inference engine using the dynamic memory allocation technique, the interface with the electronic circuit database and the hardware direct control. And, the validity of the builded expert system is proved by simulating for a typical electronic board model.

Hybrid MIMO Antenna Using Interconnection Tie for Eight-Band Mobile Handsets

  • In this paper, a hybrid multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna for eight-band mobile handsets is designed and implemented. For the MIMO antenna, two hybrid antennas are laid symmetrically and connected by an interconnection tie, thereby enabling complementary operation. The tie affects both the impedance and radiation characteristics of each antenna. Further, printed circuit board (PCB) embedded type is applied to the antenna design. To verify the results of this study, we designed eight bands-LTE class 12, 13, and 14, CDMA, GSM900, DCS1800, PCS, and WCDMA-and implemented them on a bare board the same size as the real board of a handset. The voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) is within 3:1 over the entire design band. Antenna isolation is less than -15 dB at the lower band, and -12 dB at the WCDMA band. Envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) of 0.0002-0.05 is obtained for all bands. The average gain and efficiency are measured to range from -4.69 dBi to -2.88 dBi and 33.99% to 51.5% for antenna 1, and -4.74 dBi to -2.97 dBi and 33.45% to 50.49% for antenna 2, respectively.

A Fundamental Physical Properties of Wood with Charcoal and Loess (목탄과 황토함유 목질소재의 기초물성)

  • This research was carried out to examine the FIR (far-infrared rays) emissivity and emission power of five types of flooring board by the mixing ratio of charcoal and loess, and the physical property of five types of injected flooring board by the amount of mixture. Type D was appeared the most high value of FIR emissivity and emission power. But there was a little difference among the five types of flooring board values. In physical properties, control type flooring board and injected flooring board showed a similar tendency. Among the domestic trees, all of hard wood seems to be used to surface wood for strong hardness flooring board. But a coniferous tree was not.
