초등학생들의 학교안전생활 실천에 관한 실태조사 연구 (A Study of Primary School Students' Practicing Safety Procedure during Their School Life)

  • This paper surveys and researches primary school students' situation of their school life. The purpose of this paper is to propose the basic information of the accident prevention teaching and the safety management in order to avoid accidents to occur beforehand. We selected m primary students out of the six primary schools in Taebaek City at which the nursing students of Kangwon Tourism College practiced school health. We used SPSS Win for analyzing data. We carne up with the general characteristics and percentage using frequency analysis, mean and standard deviation of each item, the mean difference using T-Test, and the different factors using one-way analysis. The results are as follows: 1. The 6th grade students don't practice safety procedures than the 5th grade students during outside the school. The older the student is, the less it practices safety procedures. 2. Boys practice safety procedures better than the girls during inside and outside the school. 3. Hot -tempered students don't practice safety procedures properly. 4. Most of the students who often use the health room of the school have high scores in safety procedures test and as a result, these students practice safety procedures thoroughly. 5. The grade of safety living activity is the highest during gymnastic class. Next is when the students use the stairs when they are going up and clown. Then, the use of science room In the playground is the lowest grade of safety for living activity.

초등학교 5, 6학년생의 인터넷 중독과 부모-자녀 애착 (Internet Obsession and Parent-Child Attachment in 5th and 6th Grade Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the patterns of internet usage among 5th and 6th grade elementary students, and analyze the correlation between the internet obsessive disorder and parent-child attachment. Method: A total of 303 elementary students in Seoul, Suwon, Ulsan, and Kwangjoo area participated in this study, and responded to self-administrated questionnaires. Results: With regard to the internet addiction, 2.7% of participants were classified as being in a high risk group, and 5.3% were classified as a potential risk group with boys at greater risk than girls, and 6th graders showing higher internet addiction scores than 5th graders. There were significant negative correlations between internet addiction and father-child attachment (r=-.122, p=.040), and mother-child attachment (r=-.154, p=.009). Conclusion: To prevent internet addiction in elementary school students, promoting parent-child interaction needs to be emphasized. More studies for finding affecting variables on internet addiction would be necessary, and different preventive approaches according to gender and grade should be introduced.

지구 온난화 교육 프로그램이 초등학생의 환경적 태도와 환경적 지식 성취도에 미치는 효과 (Effect on the Environmental Attitude and Knowledge Accomplishment of Elementary Students by Educational Programs about Global Warming)

  • This research verifies the effect on environmental attitude and knowledge accomplishment by t-test as producing and running programs regarding global warming which is raised as a representative environmental issue subject to 6th grade-elementary students. For this, environmental education programs about global warming for elementary students are developed and applied 15 times by reconstituting classes based on the contents regarding global warming from the text books revised as of 7th course of study. The result is as below. First, some part of contents from social study and science of 6th grade elementary curriculum of 7th course of study was able to be reconstituted to 15 education programs. Secondly, the programs about global warming improved students' environmental attitude Application of the programs about global warming showed significant difference(p<.05) on building environmental attitude as it proved those are effective on both area of recognition level and practice level. The method used on the test had .866's Cronbach alpha modulus value therefore, it obtained reliability. Thirdly, the programs regarding global warming improved students' knowledge accomplishment. As a result of test for knowledge accomplishment which was executed with same method for attitude test, the application of the programs about global warming showed significant difference(p<.05) on improving students' knowledge accomplishment on the global warming therefore, it resulted that the application of the program is effective on knowledge acquirement.

초등학생들의 인터넷 음란물 접촉과 성의식 (Viewing internet obscenity and sexuality awareness of elementary school students)

  • Purpose: To investigate the sexuality awareness of elementary school students according to viewing internet obscenity. Methods: The subject of this study was total 594 students of 6th grade at 3 primary schools in Gyunggi-do. The data were collected through a self-reporting questionnaire from December, 11 to December, 18, 2006. Results: 1. 19.2°% of respondents viewed internet obscenity. As for the first time they viewed it, 41.2% of respondents was when they were 6th grade students. Fifty percents of respondents viewed intemet obscenity accid ntly while surfing through the internet. As for the places where they viewed internet obscenity, 59.6% of respondents was at their house. Fifty percents of respondents answered that they felt no feeling after they viewed internet obscenity. There was a significant difference in viewing intemet obscenity according to gender. 2. The mean score of sexuality awareness was 46.4. There were significant differences in sexuality awareness according to gender, school record, and understanding about prohibition of the teenagers' viewing internet obscenity. Conclusion: We should provide lower grade students health education on internet obscenity preventive program at the home and school.

초등학교 「사회」 교과서 탐구 과제에 포함된 사서교사의 교육정보서비스 요소 분석 - 4·5·6학년 1학기 사회 교과서를 중심으로 - (An Analysis of Elements for Teacher Librarians' Educational Information Services Embedded in Inquiry Tasks of Elementary Social Studies Textbooks - based on the 4th·5th·6th Grade in the First term -)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 "사회" 교과서에 포함된 탐구 과제를 탐구 절차에 해당하는 정보활용과정을 기준으로 분석하고, 사서교사가 제공할 수 있는 교육정보서비스 내용을 알아보는 것이다. 분석 결과 4 5 6학년 1학기 "사회" 교과서는 총 69개의 탐구 과제를 포함하고 있으며, 이 중 60개가 개별 과제이다. 정보활용과정 측면에서 4학년은 개별적으로 관련 자료를 찾거나 조사한 후에 정리하여 발표하는 형태로 탐구 과제를 수행하는 것으로 보인다. 5 6학년은 개별적으로 주로 교과서에 실린 시각 자료와 텍스트를 읽고 그 결과를 구술 형식으로 표현하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 사서교사는 정보활용과정 2단계의 적절한 정보원 판단하기, 3단계의 찾아낸 정보 정리하기 그리고 4단계의 과제 해결 결과와 과정 평가하기에 대한 정보서비스가 가능할 것으로 보인다.

초등학생들의 생활과 연계된 실과교과의 실천성 연구 (A Study on the "Praxis" which are Perceived by Elementary Students on Practical Arts Education)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the practical problems that 6th grade students are facing, how they perceive Practical Arts education and the praxis of Practical Arts education relating to the problems, and whether the content of Practical Arts curriculum is useful for solving practical problems of 6th grade students. The data used in this study are collected from questionnaires and include in-depth interviews in order to make up for the quantitative research. The major findings of this study were summarized as follows. 1. Elementary school students regarded Practical Arts education as the subject matter through which they learn skills of life. They thought it is useful to their present and future life and to nurture environment-friendly attitude. Furthermore, elementary school students perceive that the meaning of practice in Practical Arts education lies not in praxis as practical action, but in just practice as technical action. 2. According to the survey based on their perception and their practical problems, 66.9% of students answered the learning content of Practical Arts education is not useful in solving their problems. And only 33.4% of students answered the learning content of Practical Arts education is useful in solving their problems. Negative view was predominant among elementary school students. And the Practical Arts curriculum does not reflect much of the practical problems that 6th grade students face. Through these results, Practical Arts education turns out to be hardly related with students' life, though it is the subject matter of students' real life.

초등학교 고학년 학생의 사회성측정 지위 유형과 동적학교생활그림검사(KSD)의 관계 (Relationship between Types of Sociometric Status and KSD Reaction of High Grade Elementary School Students)

  • 본 연구는 초등학교 고학년(4, 5, 6) 학생들을 대상으로 성별에 따른 KSD 반응의 차이와 사회성측정에 의한 5가지 지위의 유형별로 KSD 반응이 다르게 나타날 것이라는 가설에 근거하여 진행된 연구였으며, 동시에 KSD 반응이 사회성측정의 지위 유형을 어느 정도 판별하는지를 확인하는 연구였다. A시에 소재한 4학년 5학급, 5학년 5학급, 6학년 10학급으로 총 20개의 학급에 대하여 안이환(2007)이 개발한 사회성측정과 Burns와 Kaufman(1970)의 KSD를 실시하였다. 피검자의 수는 총 366명이었으며 엄밀한 형태의 층화군집표본 추출법은 아니었다. 3개의 가설을 검증하기 위하여 차례대로 독립표본 t 검증, 일원변량분석, 판별분석법이 사용되었다. 그 결과, 성별에 따른 KSD 반응의 3요인 가운데 인물상의 행위, 인물상의 특징에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났지만 역동성 요인에서는 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 또한, 일원변량분석의 결과 여학생의 KSD 반응 가운데 인물상의 특징 및 역동성 요인에서는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타났지만 인물상의 행위 요인에서는 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 따라서 KSD 반응 가운데 인물상의 특징이 남녀에 대한 구분 및 사회성측정의 지위 유형과 깊이 관련되어 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과로 볼 때, 田中志帆(전중지범)(2009)이 제안한 KSD 채점체계 영역에 대한 검토의 필요성 이 제기되었다. 마지막으로, KSD 반응이 사회성측정을 잘 판별하지 못하는 것으로 나타났지만 사회성측정을 보완하는 도구로서의 투사적 그림검사에 대한 새로운 접근법이 필요하였다.

How do Elementary Students Classify the Branches of Science?

  • Science curriculums for elementary schools were, traditionally, developed to be balanced in content and contain equal proportions of the four branches of science: physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science. To develop a successful science curriculum, we asked some questions about how elementary students recognize these branches and about what they think of the domains of science in the science curriculum. Our study was designed to investigate how elementary students classify the domains of science in the curriculum. Previous research (Lee et al., 2001) seemed not to be successful, because verbal expressions in that research might be inappropriate for elementary students who were unaccustomed to the technical language of science. For this reason, instead of using only words, we developed image card instruments, made of picture duplicates of the introductory covers of each unit in the 3$^{rd}$, 4$^{th}$, and 5$^{th}$ grades' science textbooks. We asked students to classify these cards into their own categories and record the reasons for classifying them. The ratio and distribution of the units was then analyzed to identify their view of the science domains. 30% of the 4$^{th}$ grade students created the following categories: 'nature,' 'observation,' 'seasons,' 'living things,' 'sounds,' 'separating,' and 'the things necessary for everyday life'. In the case of the 5$^{th}$ grade, over 30% created the categories of 'living things,' 'weight,' and 'water.' Over 30% of the 6$^{th}$ grade created the categories of 'nature,' 'light,' 'water,' 'living things,' 'solution,' 'fire,' 'properties of an object,' and 'experiment.' Upon scrutinizing the above results, we discovered that the science domains selected by students into three types of domains: academic contents and concepts; activities related to a science class; and lessons and experiences in students ' lives. The last category was a new, complex kind of domain. We concluded that students did not utilize the four branches of science when constructing their own domains of science. Instead, they created many alternative domains, which reflected students' thoughts of and their experiences. The educational needs of elementary students suggest that when organizing science curriculum as 25 % allocation of the four science branches, newly-created domains should be considered.

건강 걷기 운동이 초등학교 5, 6학년 학생의 체격·BMI 및 체력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of fitness walking exercise on physique, BMI and physical fitness for 5th and 6th grade elementary children)

  • 건강 걷기 운동이 초등학교 5, 6학년 학생의 체격 BMI 및 체력에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해서 B광역시 S초등학교 5학년 남학생 57명, 여학생 39명, 6학년 남학생 59명, 여학생 45명, 총 200명을 대상으로 하였다. 걷기 집단은 걷기 누가기록표상 거리를 기준으로 1집단(500 km 이상 보행), 2집단(200 km 이상 ~ 500 km 미만 보행), 3집단(200 km 미만 보행)으로 나누었으며, 6개월간 운동을 실시한 후 결과를 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 체격항목인 신장, 체중, BMI에서 5, 6학년 남, 여학생 모든 1, 2, 3집단에서 운동 전 후에 긍정적 변화를 나타냈으며, 체력항목인 50 m 달리기, 윗몸일으키기, 제자리멀리뛰기, 앉아윗몸앞으로 굽히기, 1000 m 오래달리기 및 걷기에서는 1 > 2 > 3 집단 형태로 긍정적 변화가 나타났다. 운동 후 집단별 비교에서는 체격보다는 체력항목에서 1집단이 3집단보다 긍정적 변화를 나타내었다.

초등학교 5$\cdot$6학년 특별 보충반 학생들의 나눗셈 연산능력 신장에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Division Skill of 5th and 6th Grade Children Needing Extra Class after School)

  • According to the characteristics of elementary school students in favor of playing games, and to their high energy levels and physical growth states, it is fair to say that students can learn mathematics through 'game playing activities.' These activities are considered to intrigue their interest in class and make them feel less stress from the burden of studying mathematics. Mr. Skemp, who had conducted research on 'game activity' with experimental studies relating to elementary mathematics, recommends that math teachers try to give as many activity-oriented classes as possible to students. The method of 'game activity' by Skemp's operation deals with the whole range of mathematical themes. It is believed by other math teachers that this is not a way to substitute free time or just to have fun in class, but an intentionally well-organized way of learning an entire mathematical course during elementary school. In this research, 5th and 6th grade students needing extra classes after school had been exposed to 'ame activity' by Skemp's operation. As a result, we can figure out its influence on their understanding of arithmetic ability, and on the cognitive definition territory in their minds.
