  • We have developed a compact high frequency switch mode converter (HFSMC) power supply with DC 50 kV output voltage and 10 kW output power. Since the inverter circuit uses 25 kHz rescharging scheme, the current is flowing with t kHz. For the efficient output voltage transform performed a simple design process using the transformer principle and the commercial specification. For the DC 50 kV output, we employed 7 pa windings of secondary coils for the series stac connection of the output with full-bridge rectifi In this paper the design detail and the test re the high frequency transformer together with HFSMC power supply are presented.

  • Mahaenggamsuk-tang (MHGS) has been widely used in Korea and China for the treatment of various diseases. MHGS was constituted the Ephedrea Herba, Armenicae Semen, Glycyrrhizae Radix and Gypsum Fibrosum. In this study, we have made three different solvents extract as MHGS water extract (MHGS-W), MHGS 50% EtOH extract (MHGS-50E), and MHGS 100% EtOH extract (MHGS-100E). The MHGS-W, MHGS-50E and MHGS-100E showed the discernible difference patterns on HPLC analysis. Furthermore, MHGS-50E and MHGS-100E significantly increased the DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging effects than MHGS-W. In addition, the MHGS-50E and MHGS-100E also inhibited significantly nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) production, and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) protein expression in RAW264.7. On the other hand, MHGS-50E and MHGS-W showed remarkable protection on the HT22 cell via heme oxygenase (HO)-1, but MHGS-100E did not show. The results of this study proved that MHGS-50E has greater potential therapeutic uses by exerting antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective effects compared to MHGS-100E, MHGS-W. Our study suggests that the different solvent might be affected the biological activities when make the traditional herbal medicines including MHGS.

  • Mechanical properties and hand evaluation of wool/acrylic(W/A) blend knits were conducted before and after repeated washing to get the optimum W/A blending ratio, which could help achieve the optimum mechanical and hand properties of the knits. The five test fabrics using the yarns with different W/A blending ratios($\%$), 100/0, 70/30, 50/50, 30/70, 0/100, were knitted. The fabrics were washed by a rotating drum type washing machine. Then, objective mechanical and hand properties were evaluated by KES-FB, Kawabata evalution system for fabric. The results are as follows: there was no change in the hand value of the knitted fabric with the W/A-blended yarn caused by the change in the blending ratio before washing. After washing, however, the increase of acrylic's blending rate caused the bending property to decrease proportionally, while the friction coefficient of the surface property increased. Furthermore, the study showed that W/A 50/50 possesses the most superior tensile property and shearing property, which could attain the optimum blending ratio. Similar results in hand value were derived in all the samples. After washing, however, the increase in acrylic's blending rate caused a proportional decrease in KOSHI and an increase in FUKURAMI. In addition, W/A 50/50 gained the biggest NUMERI value, again corresponding to the optimum blending ratio. Similar results in total hand value were derived in all the samples before washing. After washing, though, all the total hand values decreased, and, as the wool fabric's blending rate increased, the total hand values proportionally decreased further.

  • The lithium isotopes separation experiments were carried out in hydrochloric acid with cation exchanger systerns. In these experiments were employed porous sulfonated styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer and Dowex 50w-x8 as cation exchanger. The contents of lithium of the fraction were determined with atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The relative mass of lithium isotopes of the fractions was analyzed on a mass spectrometer. The isotope separation factors of lithium were calculated from the isotope compositions of these eluted fractions. Separation factor for the system in hydrochloric acid and porous sulfonated styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer was found to be 1.0020, and for the case of system in hydrochloric acid and Dowex 50w-x8 was 1.0011${\om}$0.0002. From these results, we found that the separation factor for porous sulfonated styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer ionexchanger is larger than value of Dowex 50w-x8 ionexchanger.

  • Generally, photovoltaic system is composed with several solar cell modules. For increasing power of photovoltaic systems, serial and parallel connection needed. A Desirable characteristic of a parallel supply system is that individual converters share the load current equally and stably. The current sharing(CS) can be implemented using two approaches. The first one, known as a droop method, relies on the high output impedance of each converter. and The second approach, known as active current-sharing techniques. In this paper, using droop method at parallel connection with it's convenience and simplicity.

  • Mongolia has three(3) geothermal zones and eight(8) hydrogeothermal systems/regions that are, fold-fault platform/uplift zone, concave-largest subsidence zone, and mixed intermediate-transitional zone. Average temperature, heat flow, and geothermal gradient of hot springs in Arhangai located to fold-fault platform/uplift zone are $55.8^{\circ}C$, 60~110 mW/m2 and $35{\sim}50^{\circ}C/km$ respectively and those of Khentii situated in same zone are $80.5^{\circ}C$, 40~50 mW/m2, and $35{\sim}50^{\circ}C/km$ separately. Temperature of hydrothermal water at depth of 3,000 m is expected to be about $173{\sim}213^{\circ}C$ based on average geothermal gradient of $35{\sim}50^{\circ}C/km$. Among eight systems, Arhangai and Khentii located in A type hydrothermal system, Khovsgol in B type, Mongol Altai plateau in C type, and Over Arhangai in D type are the most feasible areas to develop geothermal power generation by Enhanced Geothermal System (EGS). Potential electric power generation by EGS is estimated about 2,760 kW at Tsenher, 1,752 kW at Tsagaan Sum, 2,928 kW at Khujir, 2,190 kW at Baga Shargaljuut, and 7,125 kW at Shargaljuut.

  • We proposed 50W-LED modules of using Heat-pipe and Stack-fin and produced LED modules was evaluated heat dissipation characteristics with comparison of the conventional die-casting type. It verified the application of products by applying it to 150W-LED road luminaires through simulation. The LED module was measures aimed design temperature of the Stack-fin and showed 26% upward heat dissipation effect than a conventional die-casting type. The luminous efficacy of 150W-LED road luminaires using this LED module reached over 112lm/W, and the simulation results showed average of horizontal luminance, overall luminance uniformity($U_O$) and lane luminance uniformity($U_I$) that is suitable for five-lane road with the KS standards.

  • In this paper, a 50-kW high-efficiency modular fast charger for both electric vehicle (EV) and neighborhood electric vehicle (NEV) is proposed. The proposed fast charger consists of five 10-kW modules to achieve fault tolerance, ease of thermal management, and reduce component stress. Three-level topologies for both AC-DC and DC-DC converters are employed to use 600V MOSFET, resulting in ease of component selection and increase in switching frequency. The proposed three-level DC-DC converter with coupled inductor and its hybrid switching method can reduce the circulating current under wide output voltage range. A 50-kW prototype of the proposed fast charger was developed and tested to verify the validity of the proposed concept. Experimental results show that the proposed fast charger achieves a rated efficiency of 95.2% and a THD of less than 3%.
