Effects of $K_2SO_4$ and $Na_2SO_4$ on $3CaO.SiO_2$ Formation and its Microstructure ($3CaO.SiO_2$ 생성 반응과 미세조직에 미치는 $K_2SO_4$$Na_2SO_4$의 영향)

  • Effects of K2SO4 and Na2SO4 on C3S formation and its microstructure were investigated. C3S formation was not influenced by addition up to 6.0wt% of K2SO4 as SO3 base, however it was prevented by only 1.0wt% of Na2SO4 addition. C3S prevention by added Na2SO4 was the reason why C2S stabilized by Na+ and SO42- could not react to C3S. Added K2SO4 appeared as K2SO4, however added Na2SO4 appeared as the form of Na2xCa3-xAl2O6, (Na0.8Ca0.1)SO4 and Na2SO4 in interstitial phase.

  • All d-homogeneous $C^*$-algebras $T^d$ over $\prod^{s_4}S^4{\times}\prod^{s_2}S^2{\times}\prod^{s_3}S^3{\times}\prod^{s_1}S^1$ are constructed. It is shown that $T^d$ are strongly Morita equivalent to $C(\prod^{s_4}S^4{\times}\prod^{s_2}S^2{\times}\prod^{s_3}S^3{\times}\prod^{s_1}S^1)$.

Facile Synthesis of MoS2-C60 Nanocomposites and Their Application to Catalytic Reduction and Photocatalytic Degradation

  • $MoS_2$ precursors were synthesized by reacting thioacetamide ($C_2H_5NS$) with sodium molybdate dihydrate ($Na_2MoO_4{\cdot}2H_2O$) in aqueous HCl solution. $MoS_2$ nanoparticles were prepared from dried $MoS_2$ precursors by calcination in an electric furnace at $700^{\circ}C$ for 2 h under an inert argon atmosphere. $MoS_2-C_{60}$ nanocomposites were obtained by heating $MoS_2$ nanoparticles and fullerene ($C_{60}$) together in an electric furnace at $700^{\circ}C$ for 2 h. Their morphological and the structural properties were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The $MoS_2$ nanoparticles and $MoS_2-C_{60}$ nanocomposites were used as catalysts in the reductions of 2-, 3-, and 4-nitrophenol in the presence of sodium borohydride. The photocatalytic activities of the $MoS_2$ nanoparticles and $MoS_2-C_{60}$ nanocomposites were evaluated in the degradation of organic dyes (brilliant green, methylene blue, methyl orange, and rhodamine B) under ultraviolet light (254 nm).

  • The strain of S-47 degrading 4-chlorobenzoic acid (4CBA) was isolated from Ulsan chemical industrial complex by enrichment cultivation with 1 mM 4CBA. The strain was Gram-negative rod and grew optimally at 30.deg.C and pH 7 under aerobic condition, so that the organism was identified as a species of Pseudomonas. Pseudomonas sp. S-47 degraded 4-chlorobenzoic acid to produce a yellow-colored meta-cleavage product, which was confirmed to be 5-chloro-2-hydroxymuconic semialdehyde (5C-2HMS) by UV-visible spectrophotometry. 5C-3HMS was proved trometry. This means that Pseudomonas sp. S-47 degraded 4CBA via 4-chlorocatechol to 5C-2HMS by meta-cleavage reaction and then to 5C-2HMA by 5C-2HMS dehydrogenase.

Formation of $SnO_2$Coating Layer on the Surface of ZnS Powders (ZrS 분말표면상에 $SnO_2$코팅막의 형성)

  • 본 실험은 목적은 CRT(Cathode Ray Tube)용 청색 형광체인 ZnS:Ag 분말 표면에 액상법으로 SnO$_2$를 균일하게 코팅하는 공정조건을 연구하는 것이다. 용매로서 물을 사용하고, Sn의 공급물질로서 SnCl$_4$.4$H_2O$, 침전 촉매로서 CO(NH$_2$)$_2$를 각각 사용하여, 균일 침전 방법으로 ZnS:Ag 분말표면에 SnO$_2$를 코팅할 수 있었다. 초기에 첨가되는 SnCl$_4$.4$H_2O$의 량이 Sn/Zn의 몰비기준으로 0.017인 경우에 ZnS:Ag 분말표면에 Sn(OH)$_4$가 균일하게 코팅되지만, 그 이상 첨가되면 과량의 Sn(OH)$_4$가 입자들 사이에 응집되었다. 코팅된 Sn(OH)$_4$는 비정질 구조로 규명되었으며, 이를 SnO$_2$결정상으로 전이시키기 위하여 300~$700^{\circ}C$ 범위 내에서 열처리를 행하였다. 비정질 Sn(OH)$_4$는 20$0^{\circ}C$이하에서 탈수되었고 45$0^{\circ}C$부터 SnO$_2$로 결정화되기 시작하였다. 순수한 ZnS의 경우, 50$0^{\circ}C$이하에서는 상변화가 없으나, $600^{\circ}C$에서 일부 산화되었으며 $700^{\circ}C$에서는 완전히 ZnO로 산화되므로, ZnS의 산화방지 및 SnO$_2$의 결정화를 동시에 만족하는 최고 열처리온도는 50$0^{\circ}C$로 규명되었다. 그러나 ZnS에 SnO$_2$가 코팅된 시편의 경우에는 $600^{\circ}C$가 되어도 ZnS 상이 거의 산화되지 않았고, $700^{\circ}C$에서도 ZnS와 ZnO 상이 공존한 것으로 보아 SnO$_2$코팅이 ZnS의 산화를 억제하는 것으로 나타났다.

Study on Environmental Hazards of Alternatives for PFOS (PFOS 대체물질의 환경유해성에 관한 연구)

  • While PFOS sodium salt ($C_8F_{17}SO_3Na$) was not degraded by microorganisms for 28 days, the 4 alternatives were biodegraded at the rates of 21.6% for $C_{25}F_{17}H_{32}S_3O_{13}Na_3$, 20.5% for $C_{15}F_9H_{21}S_2O_8Na_2$, 15.8% for $C_{23}F_{18}H_{28}S_2O_8Na_2$ and 6.4% for $C_{17}F_9H_{25}S_2O_8Na_2$, respectively. The acute toxicity test using Daphnia magna was conducted for 48 hours, the half effective concentration ($EC_{50}$) of PFOS sodium salt ($C_8F_{17}SO_3Na$) was evaluated in 54.5 mg/L. While the 4 alternatives did not show any effect at 500.0 mg/L. The surface tension of the PFOS salt ($C_8F_{17}SO_3Na$) is 46.2 mN/m at a concentration of 500.0 mg/L. While the surface tension of the 4 alternatives was found to be superior to PFOS sodium salt ($C_8F_{17}SO_3Na$). The surface tension of $C_{23}F_{18}H_{28}S_2O_8Na_2$ (20.9 mN/m) has the lowest, followed by $C_{15}F_9H_{21}S_2O_8Na_2$ (23.4 mN/m), $C_{17}F_9H_{25}S_2O_8Na_2$ (27.3 mN/m), $C_{25}F_{17}H_{32}S_3O_{13}Na_3$ (28.2 mN/m). The four kinds of alternatives ($C_{15}F_9H_{21}S_2O_8Na_2$, $C_{17}F_9H_{25}S_2O_8Na_2$, $C_{23}F_{18}H_{28}S_2O_8Na_2$, $C_{25}F_{17}H_{32}S_3O_{13}Na_3$) were found to be superior to PFOS sodium salt ($C_8F_{17}SO_3Na$) in terms of biodegradation, Daphnia sp. acute toxicity and surface tension, and thus they were considered applicable as PFOS alternatives. Especially biodegradation rate of $C_{15}F_9H_{21}S_2O_8Na_2$, $C_{23}F_{18}H_{28}S_2O_8Na_2$ and $C_{25}F_{17}H_{32}S_3O_{13}Na_3$ was relatively high as 15.8~21.6%, and Daphnia sp. acute toxicity and surface tension were considerably superior (surface tension 39~55%) to PFOS sodium salt. Therefore, these alternatives are considered to be available as an alternative of PFOS.

A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF PRESERVING ABILITY OF HUMAN PERIODONTAL LIGAMENT CELLS STORED IN DIFFERENT TEMPERATURED STORAGE MEDI (저장용액의 온도에 따른 치주인대세포의 생존율)

  • To compare the survival rate of periodontal ligament cells preserved in storage media with good availability at the time of an avulsion injury, periodontal ligament cells were incubated in ${\alpha}-MEM$ culture medium containing 10% FBS in condition of $37^{\circ}C$, 5% $CO_2$. These cells were then cultured in HBSS, ${\alpha}-MEM$, milk(S co., P. co.) and tap water at the temperature of 4, 25, $37^{\circ}C$ each in 60 min. The groups were measured by MTT assay. The results were as follows : 1. Among the storage media at $4^{\circ}C$, ${\alpha}-MEM$ and P-milk had the highest preserving ability of periodontal ligament cells, while that of HBSS S-milk and tap was low in order. 2. Among the storage media at $25^{\circ}C$, ${\alpha}-MEM$ had the highest preserving ability of periodontal ligament cells, while that of P-milk, HBSS, S-milk, tap water was low in order. 3. Among the storage media at $37^{\circ}C$, the preserving ability of periodontal ligament cells was very high in ${\alpha}-MEM$, P-milk, HBSS and S-milk, it's lowest in tap water. 4. The preserving ability of periodontal ligament cells in ${\alpha}-MEM$ was high at $4^{\circ}C$ and it's low in order of $25^{\circ}C$, $37^{\circ}C$, but in HBSS was high at $4^{\circ}C$ and it's low at $25^{\circ}C$, $37^{\circ}C$ 5. The preserving ability of periodontal ligament cells in S-milk and P-milk was high at $4^{\circ}C$, $25^{\circ}C$ and it s low at $37^{\circ}C$. In conclusion, HBSS is the storage medium of choice in an avulsion, but in this study it is preferable to choose milk at $4^{\circ}C$ for tooth since it is easy to get and affect cell viability.

  • The C4A3S clinker was prepared by the solid-state reaction. The mixture of raw materials; calcite, kaoline and gypsum, was fired at 135$0^{\circ}C$ for 1hr and cooled rapidly in air. C4A3S type expansive was made with C4A3S clinker, CaO and CaSO4. The cement replaced by 10 wt.% C4A3S type expansive was investigated by the measurement of the strength(compressive, tensile, flexural) and length change at various curing conditions. Hydration products were mainly ettringite, monosulfate and Ca(OH)2. The densification and the expansion due to the formation of ettringite during the hydration increased strength and reduced the drying shrinkage of hardened cement.

  • 본 연구에서는 Pt/f4-SiC Schottky barrier diodes(SBDs)의 소자 성능향상과 미세구조와의 상관관계를 규명하였다. 다른 열처리 온도구간에 따른 금속/SiC 계면의 미세구조 평가는 X-ray scattering법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 소자의 역 방향 특성은 열처리 온도가 증가함에 따라 저하되었다. As-deposited와 $850^{\circ}C$ 온도에서 열처리된 소자의 최대 항복전압은 각각 1300 V와 626 V 이었다. 그러나, 소자의 순방향 특성은 열처리 온도가 증가함에 따라 향상되었다. X-ray scattering법으로 >$650^{\circ}C$ 이상의 열처리 온도에서는 Pt/SiC 계면에서 Pt-silicides가 형성되었고, 이러한 Silicides의 형성이 Pt/SiC 계면의 평활도를 증가시킨 원인이 됨을 보였다. SBDs의 순방향 특성은 열처리 과정동안 Pt/SiC 계면에서 형성된 silicides의 결정성에 강하게 의존함을 알 수 있었다.
