4-Way 캐쉬의 선택된 Element를 이용한 향상된 동적 분기 예측기 구현 (An Improved Dynamic Branch Predictor by Selective Access of a Specific Element in 4-Way Cache)

  • 본 논문은 4-Way 캐쉬의 선택된 element만을 사용하여 어플리케이션 수행 사이클을 줄인 향상된 동적 분기 예측기를 제안한다. 제안된 동적 분기 예측기는 분기명령어가 페치되면 MRU 버퍼를 참조하여 4-Way 캐쉬의 선택된 element에서 타깃 주소를 얻으므로, 모든 element에 접근하는 기존의 동적 분기 예측기보다 제한된 전력하에서 BTAC entry 수를 증가시킬 수 있어 분기 예측 성공률과 어플리케이션의 수행속도가 상당히 향상된다. 제안된 동적 분기 예측기의 효율성을 SMDL 시스템에 의해 생성된 코어가 벤치마크 어플리케이션을 수행하여 검증한다. 실험결과 동적 분기 예측기가 없는 코어에 비해 생성된 코어의 어플리케이션 수행 사이클은 평균 10.1% 감소하고 어플리케이션의 전력소모는 7.4% 증가한다. 기존 동적 분기 예측기를 사용하는 코어에 비해 수행 사이클은 평균 4.1% 줄어든다.

  • 1. Mt. Soyo is situated in the central part of Korea, approximately 37$^{\circ}$56'W. Latitude, 127$^{\circ}$4'N. Longitude. This mountain is about 530 meters above sea level, and consists mainly of granites. Above 200 meters the area is covered with oak trees (Quercus mongolica, Q. aliena) with a kind of Rhododendron (Rhododendron mucronulatum, R. schlippenbachii) as undergrowth. About 500 packets of bryophytes were collected by the writer in 1959. 2. The mosses collected in this region were of 68 species belonging to 51 genera. Those species may roughly be divided, as follows; 1) 15 species (22.1%) are distributed also in Europe and North America (Holarctic element). 2) 2 species (2.9%) occur also in Kamchatka and the Aleutians (North Pacific element). 3) 14 species (20.6%) are widely distributed every where (Cosmopolitan element). 4) 19 species (27.9%) occur also in the temperature region of the Far East (East Asiatic element). 5) 3 species (4.4%) occur also in Indomalaya and India (Tropical element). 6) 15 species (22.1%) are endemic to Japan and Korea. 3. The Hepaticae collected in this region are of 11 species belonging to 7 genera. Those may roughly be divided, as follows; 1) 4 species (36.4%) are distributed also in Europe and North America (Holarctc element). 2) 5 species (45.5%) occur also in the temperature region of the Far East (Asiatic element). 3) 1 species (9.1%) occur also in Indomlaya. 4) 1 species (9.1%) are endemic in Japan and Korea. 4. The species which are new to the flora of Korea are as follows; 1) Leucobryum glaucum (L.) Schimp. 2) Psedoleskeopsis dicurvata (Mitt.) Broth. 3) Thuidium delicatulum (Hedw.) Mitt. 4) Dolichotheca perrobustum (Broth.) Broth. 5) Brachiolejeunia sandvicensis (Gott). Evans. 6) Porella vernicosa Lindb. ssp. gracillina (Mitt.) Ando.

면내회전자유도를 갖는 4절점 곡면 쉘요소 (A Four-node General Shell Element with Drilling DOFs)

  • 이 연구에서는 감절점쉘요소의 개념에 근거한 새로운 4절점 곡면 쉘요소를 제시하였다. 회전장이 독립변수로 도입된 범함수에 의하여 면내회전자유도를 도입함으로써 개발된 쉘요소에서는 절점당 6자유도를 갖도록 하였다. 아울러 쉘요소의 면내거동 개선을 위하여 4개의 비적합변위형에 의한 비적합변위를 면내방향의 변위성분에 추가하였으며, 면외거동 개선을 위하여 대체전단변형률장이 적용되었다. 이 연구에서의 비적합변위형의 수치적 구현에 있어서 일정한 변형률상태를 표현할 수 있도록 하기 위하여 비적합변위형의 직접 수정법이 적용되었다. 이렇게 정식화된 쉘요소 강성행렬의 수치적분에 있어서는 부피적분을 위하여 9점 적분법이 사용되었다. 개발된 쉘요소는 바람직하지 못한 영에너지모드를 갖지 않으며, 일정한 변형률 상태를 표현할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 개발된 4절점 곡면 쉘 요소에 대한 다양한 수치예제를 통한 검증 결과, 전반적으로 양호한 거동을 보여주고 있음을 확인하였다.

산림보호지역의 관리효과성 평가지표 개발 연구 (Management Effectiveness Evaluation (MEE) Indicators Development in Protected Forest Areas)

  • In order to develop the indicators which evaluate the management effectiveness for the protected forest areas in Korea, candidate indicators were listed based on literature and experts interviews, then questionnaire survey on the experts were conducted. 5 elements of context, planning, input, process, output and outcome and 32 indicators were selected. Context element includes 6 indicators of 1) documentation and assessment of values; 2) documentation and assessment of threats, 3) influence of government policy, 4) related regulations, 5) community cooperation and 6) the structure of management organization. 6 indicators of Planning element were 1) the management objective, 2) protected area design, 3) protected area size and number, 4) representation, 5) standards and categories and 6) management planning. Input element of 3 indicators were 1) management staff, 2) funding, 3) establishment and application of information. Process element were consisted of 1) governance, 2) management guidelines, 3) human resource management, 4) law enforcement, 5) eco-management, 6) disaster management, 7) education program and 8) research and monitoring. The element of outputs and outcomes were 1) accomplishment of plan, 2) accomplishment of program, 3) private land management, 4) threats change, 5) biodiversity change, 6) ecosystem health and vitality, 7) impact on community, 8) international management level and 9) visitors' satisfaction and variation in civil compliant. It is recommended to have further research on evaluation methods development by applying those above developed indicators for the protected forest areas to ensure the practicality of the indicators.

셀룰로오스와 PET 복합체로 만들어진 가정용 가습소자 (Residential Humidifying Element Made of Cellulose and PET Composite)

  • 실내의 습도제어를 위하여 가습기가 필요하다. 이 중 기화식 가습기는 구조가 간단하고 에너지 소모가 적은 장점이 있다. 하지만 가습기의 핵심 부품인 소자는 일본 제품이 사용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 일본 제품을 대체할 셀룰로오스와 PET 복합체로 만들어진 가습소자를 개발하고 일본 제품의 성능과 비교하였다. 시험은 소자를 항온항습실 내에 설치된 흡입식 풍동 입구에 설치하고 가습량과 압력손실을 측정하였다. 개발품의 가습 효율이 일본 제품에 비하여 2%~4% 우수하고 압력 손실도 일본 제품에 비하여 23%~32% 적게 나타났다. 또한 동일 압력손실에서 가습 성능을 의미하는 $j_m/f$의 값도 개발품에서 5%에서 28% 크게 나타났다. 한편 개발품의 물 흡수도는 일본 제품에 비하여 작게 나타났는데 향후 이 부분에 대한 보완이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

Control of $NaAlSiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ photoluminescence properties by charge-compensated aliovalent element substitutions

  • We have conducted two kinds of the so-called charge-compensated aliovalent element substitutions to control the photoluminescence properties of $NaAlSiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ with a special focus on the enhancement of the excitation intensity at 400 nm. The aliovalent element substitutions include cation-cation and cation-anion co-substitutions according to the general formulas $Na_{1-x}M_xAl_{1+x}Si_{1-x}O_4:Eu^{2+}$ and $Na_{1-x}M_xAlSiO_{4-x}N_x:Eu^{2+}$ (M = $Mg^{2+}$, $Ca^{2+}$, and $Sr^{2+}$), respectively. The increase in the relative excitation intensity at 400 nm has been achieved in both types of the co-substitutions. Thus, the present research has demonstrated the effectiveness of the charge-compensated element substitution.

Improving the eigenvalue using higher order elements without re-solving

  • High order finite element have a greater convergence rate than low order finite elements, and in general produce more accurate results. These elements have the disadvantage of being more computationally expensive and often require a longer time to solve the finite element analysis. High order elements have been used in this paper to obtain a new eigenvalue solution with out re-solving the new model. The optimisation of the eigenvalue via the differentiation of the Rayleigh quotient has shown that the additional nodes associated with the higher order elements can be condensed out and solved using the original finite element solution. The higher order elements can then be used to calculate an improved eigenvalue for the finite element analysis.

시뮬레이션 실습이 접목된 문제중심학습에 대한 간호학생의 PBL 학습요소별 인식과 학업성취도 (Learning Element Recognition and Academic Achievement of Nursing Student Receiving PBL with Simulation Education)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze how a nursing student recognizes PBL with simulation education and its relationship to academic achievement. Methods: The study objects were the students in C college who learn through PBL using simulator for 15 weeks(September 2007 to December 2007). Learning element recognition was developed by Cho(2002) and three key evaluations(performance, self-evaluation, and colleague evaluation) were designed by professors. Results: Learning element recognition ranged from 2.37 to 4.83 with the average at 3.94. For Learning element recognition, students who preferred discussion score 4.15. This was statistically more significant than those who do not. Students who preferred presentations show significantly higher score in colleague evaluation. For Learning element recognition and academic achievement, self-evaluation and colleague evaluation showed relationship to PBL learning element. Conclusion: There was definitely a relationship with PBL learning element and academic achievement after learning the PBL with simulation education.

Stiffened orthotropic corner supported hypar shells: Effect of stiffener location, rise/span ratio and fiber orientaton on vibration behavior

  • In this paper the influence of stiffener location, rise/span ratio and fibre orientation on vibration behavior of corner supported hypar shells is studied by using a four-node hybrid stress finite element. The formulation of the element is based on Hellinger-Reissner variational principle. The element is developed by combining a hybrid plane stress element and a hybrid plate element. Benchmark problems are solved to validate the approach and free vibration response of stiffened orthotropic hypar shells is studied both with respect to fundamental frequency and mode shapes by varying the location of stiffeners, rise/span ratio and fiber orientation.

Efficient geometric nonlinear analyses of circular plate bending problems

  • In this paper, a hybrid/mixed nonlinear shell element is developed in polar coordinate system based on Hellinger/Reissner variational principle and the large-deflection theory of plate. A numerical solution scheme is formulated using the hybrid/mixed finite element method (HMFEM), in which the nodal values of bending moments and the deflection are the unknown discrete parameters. Stability of the present element is studied. The large-deflection analyses are performed for simple supported and clamped circular plates under uniformly distributed and concentrated loads using HMFEM and the traditional displacement finite element method. A parametric study is also conducted in the research. The accuracy of the shell element is investigated using numerical computations. Comparisons of numerical solutions are made with theoretical results, finite element analysis and the available numerical results. Excellent agreements are shown.
