  • This paper aims to describe the basic structure of novel object-based 3D audio broadcasting system To overcome current uni-directional audio broadcasting services, the object-based 3D audio broadcasting system is designed for providing the ability to interact with important audio objects as well as realistic 3D effects based on the MPEG-4 standard. The system is composed of 6 sub-modules. The audio input module collects the background sound object, which is recored by 3D microphone, and audio objects, which are recorded by monaural microphone or extracted through source separation method. The sound scene authoring module edits the 3D information of audio objects such as acoustical characteristics, location, directivity and etc. It also defines the final sound scene with a 3D background sound, which is intended to be delievered to a receiving terminal by producer. The encoder module encodes scene descriptors and audio objects for effective transmission. The decoder module extracts scene descriptors and audio objects from decoding received bistreams. The sound scene composition module reconstructs the 3D sound scene with scene descriptors and audio objects. The 3D sound renderer module maximizes the 3D sound effects through adapting the final sound to the listner's acoustical environments. It also receives the user's controls on audio objects and sends them to the scene composition module for changing the sound scene.

  • Under hydrothermal conditions, a 2-dimensional copper(I) coordination polymer [$Cu_2Cl_2$(4,4'-dipyen)] (1) was prepared from [$Cu(OAc)_2]{\cdot}H_2O$, 4,4'-dipyen, and KCl. In polymer 1, copper atoms are linked by the 4,4'-dipyen ligands approximately along the b-axis and are also linked by the chloro ligands approximately along the a-axis to form a 2-D layer, a network of rectangles.

  • The two-dimensional (2D) analysis is widely used in geotechnical engineering for slope stability analysis assuming a plane-strain condition. It is implicitly assumed that the slip surface is infinitely wide, and thus three-dimensional (3D) end effects are negligible because of the infinite width of the slide mass. The majority of work on this subject suggests that the 2D factor of safety is conservative (i.e. lower than the 'true' 3D factor of safety). Recently, the 3D finite element method (FEM) became more attractive due to the progress of computational tools including the computer hardware and software. This paper presents the numerical analyses on rotational mode and translational mode slopes using the 2D and 3D FEM as well as 2D limit equilibrium methods (LEM). The results of the parametric study on the slope stability due to mesh size, dilatency angle, boundary conditions, stress history and model dimensions change are analysed. The analysis showed that the factor of safety in 3D analysis is always higher than that in the 2D analysis and the discrepancy of the slope width in W direction on the factor of safety is ignored if the roller type of W direction conditions is applied.

  • Borehole Data is geotechnical information provided so that workers can safely perform construction at the field. It creates 3D data and supports viewing as a 3D image. Currently, all Korean companies that develop programs using 3D visualization use the MVS program developed by C Tech Development Corporation. However, the MVS program is a commercial program, and it is difficult to use MVS in 3D related programs developed by Korean Companies. In this paper, we propose to develop a program that can replace MVS to generate a 3D stratum model from clustered borehole information using Python's Gempy open-source. The 3D stratum model program can creates point data for each stratum and can creates a surface for each stratum through interpolation. Then, the 3D stratum model program is completed by merging the surfaces of each stratum. It was confirmed that there was no difference when a 3D model was created and compared with the MVS program and the proposed program from the borehole data of a Goyang area.

  • We have reconstructed 3-dimensional images by using the digital holographic microscope and the Mask-cut phase unwrapping algorithm. Off-axis holograms recorded with a magnified image of the microscopic object lens and reference beam are numerically reconstructed in amplitude and phase image by the Fresnel diffraction approximation. We have simultaneously reconstructed 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional images of the sub-micrometer objects.

  • This study tries to develop the so-called LCSI (Library Customer Satisfaction Index) Lite for public library which can be used easily in the fields as a simplified model. Its conceptual model is developed from the former research about library service quality and customer satisfaction. Based on the analyses on the twenty Delphi-type AHP questionnaires both from the library researchers and from the public library practitioners, and on the analysis and testing of the structural equation model using the data from the more than 800 user questionnaires, it suggests a model which consists of total 15 items - namely 8 items for service quality (2 for personnel, 4 for library resources and services, 2 for facilities and environment), 3 items for customer satisfaction, and 2 items for loyalty. Library Satisfaction Index for public library will be calculated by the sum total of service quality (50%), customer satisfaction (40%), and loyalty (10%).
