A Spatial Data Construction System with Video GIS (비디오 GIS를 이용한 공간데이터 구축 시스템)

  • Video GIS is a spatial information system where video is used and integrated with map or other media such as 3D graphics, image, video, and satellite imagery. The information expressed by video, in nature, can provide realistic information. The connection of map and image of actual geographic object brings realistic visualization, which overcomes the limitation of conventional map-based GIS. In the suggested video GIS, location information is contained in video data and thereby enables two-sided searching, browsing, and analyses. In this paper, we suggest video GIS that integrates and manages video and map, and that constructs spatial information. We also develop a prototype system of video GIS in the field of roadside facility management, and show the results.

  • 지리정보시스템(GIS: Geographic Information System)에서는 1 차원이 아닌 2 차원 공간상의 공간 데이터 처리를 위한 많은 연구가 수행되어 왔으며 DBMS 에서 이러한 2 차원 공간 데이터의 처리를 위하여 많은 기술들이 연구 개발되어 왔다. 최근 GIS 응용에서는 2 차원이 아닌 3 차원 공간데이터 처리에 대한 요구사항이 급증하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기존 2 차원 공간 DBMS에서 3 차원 공간데이터 처리를 위하여 확장 개발해야 할 요소에 대하여 살펴보고자 한다.

  • Recently many of earlier GIS services are changing to the form of user-participated dynamic geoweb service like many new impressive web 2.0 services substitute for earlier old-fashioned web 1.0 services. Many relevant technologies are necessary to be developed so as to integrate a number of geospatial data and functions all around into the useful geoweb services. It is also necessary to make the integration easy and to cope with the rapid changes in geoweb environment. In this study, the trend of relevant geoweb technologies were reviewed before, and the development of open geospatial service platform were carried out. As a result, open 2D/3D map service engine, user-participated mashup engine, Open API search engine and so on were im plemented as the core components of that platform. The platform will be able to be used as the common platform among a number of applications in the fields such as public/private GIS integration, u-city projects and GIS/LBS services etc.

  • In this study, we wished to forecast the damage district by tsunami's occurrence. For this, we analyzed tsunami that can happen in our country's neighborhood coast using past data, and established tsunami's scenario by imagination with analysis result. we created a 3D topographical model about study area and analyzed an inundation area by achieving simulation by scenario. Also, we produced an imaginary inundation map by overlaying the simulation results on digital map. This study result might be utilized as infra-technology for operation of tsunami's forecast/alarm system and establishment of disaster prevention policy.

  • By the progress of Information Technology, spatial data have been recognizes as one of essential infrastructure. Now for the near future needs of urban simulation, management, u-City construction, etc. MOCT(Ministry Of Construction & Transportation) have been driving to construct the 3D Geo-spatial Data as one of National Spatial Data Information on a base of 2D GIS(Geographic Information System). In this study we tried to analysis the demands and the optimum implementation method of 3D Geo-spatial Data in local governments. As the result of study, the plan to utilize 3D Geo-spatial Data and to carry out its utilization, and the advanced vision of 3D GIS in for the public affairs of Local Governments and private business scope were proposed.

  • Recently, as the demands for radio spectrum are growing and the number of cell sites is increasing rapidly, the spectrum engineering plays an important role in estimating frequency sharing and reuse. The radio propagation analysis is essential in the basic technology of radio network design such as deciding the service area and selecting the position of the base station. But, domestic propagation environment in which mountainous region is occupying over 70% of our terrain does not allow us to apply foreign studies which are deduced in highly different environments. Therefore, we need to have our propagation analysis system derived from our own terrain condition. In this paper, we propose the propagation prediction model which issuitable toour propagation environment, and also usinghis model, we implement thesimulator based on GIS(Geographic Information System)which can be applied to both spectrum engineering and radio propagation analysis. We showed that this simulator can well be applied to frequency assignment, propagation network design as well as other radio services. Considering the results of our analysis, we could guarantee the standard deviation of error between the measured data and predicted results as 5 to 7 dB.

  • Autonomous driving-related technologies are developing step by step by applying the degree of driving. It is essential that operational management technology for roads where autonomous vehicles move should also develop in line with autonomous driving technology. However, in the case of road operation management, it is currently managed using only two-dimensional information, showing limitations in the systematic operation management of lane and facility information and maintenance. This study proposed a plan to construct an operation management system architecture capable of 3D spatial information-based operation management by designing a convergence database that can process real-time big data with high-definition road map data. Through this study, when using a high-definition road map based operation management system for lane and facility maintenance in the future, it is possible to visualize and manage facilities, edit and analyze data of multiple users, link various GIS S/W and efficiently process large scale of real-time data.

  • The geographic intelligence service from mobile environment in site to get the information which is necessary from site immediately and it dynamically in order to apply, with the box there is possibility to raise the expense and efficiency of the service object person.   • This research is to construct more useful Geo-spatial data by building spatial data to three dimensional and utilize the database effectively for development of application, maintenance and management program, and application technology, which is on going based on “Haeundae three dimensional database construction project”. Furthermore, the acquisition of geographic information data and the technological improvement of effective construction would be the important factors to judge the qualitative reputation of GIS. Above all, studies to create accurate data and overcome the error limitation are much more important than any other thing. Final form of Spatial Data to materialize efficient GIS(Geographic Information System) must be three dimensional spatial data which has attribute data, actual concept and numerical value of real world. In connection to that, development is on the move to improve building technique of useful spatial data and digitalize the entire country in cryberspace. $\ulcorner the cyber country lrcorner$is designed to mange the entire country systematically. This simulation would be able to cover administration of government institution, public service, corporate business and even the public life in the cyeberspace though the computer. Materialization of efficient GIS and establishment of condition as technically strong nation through the early realization of $\ulcorner the cyber country lrcorner$will provide a great opportunity to open up the global market with exportation of advanced technology.

A Study on 3 Dimensional Modeling of Keum-man Connection Canal using GIS and considering Hydraulic Analysis (GIS와 수리학적 해석을 고려한 금만연결수로의 3차원 모델링에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to simulate the 3 dimensional (3D) model of Keum-man connection canal using geographic information system (GIS) as well as considering design in viewpoint of engineering. The canal connects from Keumkang to Mangyungkang in order to supply fresh water into Saemankeum lake. This study used 3 dimensional spatial planning model (3DSPLAM) process to generate the 3D model, which has not only several planning layers in actual process, but also their corresponding layers in modeling process to simulate 3D space of rural villages. The discharge of the canal is $20m^3/s$ on slope of 1/28,400 in the canal length of 14.2km, which consists of pipe line and open channel. This study surveyed the route of the canal and its surrounding environment for facilities to make images in the 3D graphic model. Besides, the present study developed data set in GIS for geogrphical surface modeling as well as parameters in hydraulic analysis for water surface profile on the canal using HEC-RAS model. From the data set constructed, this study performed analysis of water surface profile with HEC-RAS, generation of digital elevation model (DEM) and 3D objects, design of the canal section and route on DEM in AutoCAD, and 3D canal model and its surrounding 3D space in 3DMAX with virtual reality. The study result showed that the process making 3D canal model tried in this study is very useful to generate computer graphic model with the designed canal on the surface of DEM. The generated 3D canal can be used to assist decision support for the canal policy.
