  • To grasp the size system of children's clothing online shopping malls, basic size charts for clothing products from 14 shopping malls were collected, compared, and analyzed. Looking at the age range of the basic size chart for each company, the minimum age is 1 year old, the maximum age is 14-15 years old, and all companies included ages up to 7 years. In addition, as for the number of size designations, children's clothing companies used seven to eight designations, and there were six types of size designation methods. Next, looking at the height range for each size, even with the same size designation method, the height range differed depending on the company. Also, the KS size standard does not consider body weight, but many companies use weight as a reference body size. Compared with the child body size data of the 6th Korean Body Size Data, the height and weight range for each size provided by the company showed differences between companies. The results of this study can be used in the future as basic data when revising and supplementing the clothing sizes in children's clothing companies.

  • Meckel diverticulum (MD) is one of the most common congenital gastrointestinal anomalies and occurs in 1.2-2% of the general population. MD usually presents with massive painless rectal bleeding, intestinal obstruction or inflammation in children and adults. Suppurative Meckel diverticulitis is uncommon in children. An experience is described of a 3-year-old girl with suppurative inflammation in a tip of MD. She complained of acute colicky abdominal pain, vomiting and periumbilical erythema. Laparoscopic surgery found a relatively long MD with necrotic and fluid-filled cystic end, which was attatched to abdominal wall caused by inflammation. Herein, we report an interesting and unusual case of a suppurative Meckel diverticulitis presenting as periumbilical cellulitis in a child. Because of its varied presentations, MD might always be considered as one of the differential diagonosis.

  • Children's sex, temperament, and empathy were studied as antecedents of preschoolers' prosocial development. Eighty eight 5-, and 6-year-old children, 41 boys and 47 girls, were sampled in two kindergartens. Children's naturally occurring prosocial behaviors were videotaped in their classrooms for 21 minutes in 3 days. Teachers rated the children's prosocial tendency using a questionnaire. Empathy was measured individually with a picture/story measure, and mothers provided information on children's temperament using a questionnaire. The two measures of preschoolers' prosocial behaviors, teacher ratings and free play observations, were moderately related. Girls were more prosocial in terms of helping/sharing/cooperation in both teacher-ratings and free-play observations. Preschoolers' adjustability was moderately related to the prosocial behaviors of children in both teacher-ratings and observations. Boys' verbal empathy was related to the observed prosocial behaviors.

Wedge resection including the mass was done. The tumor had brown smooth external surfaces on sectioning including the mass was done. The tumor had brown smooth external surfaces on sectioning show pale gray and soft cut surface was shown. In light electromicroscopy chronic granulomas with multinucleated giant cells and central caseous necrosis were observed which are the characteristics of tuberculoma. • The present study purposed to prevent oral diseases and to improve oral health in children. For this purpose, we selected 70 cases who are 5~7 years old preschoolers at the kindergarten affiliated to G College in Gyeongsangbukdo, and analyzed the general patterns of oral care and the relation of the patterns with dental plaque and deciduous dental caries in the children. Specifically, we conducted oral examination and applied pit and fissure sealant according to the eruption of deciduous molar and first molar. In addition, we executed the 1st and 2nd tooth brushing instruction (TBI), and surveyed S-OHI and PHP twice. Excluding 14 preschoolers who did not appear in the 2nd survey, we performed the study with 56 preschoolers and drew conclusions as follows. 1. The number of decayed or missed or filled teeth among deciduous teeth was 3 or more in 42.9% of female children, and 46.4% of male children, so male children showed a slightly higher rate. 2. The degree of dental plaque formation was $1.64{\pm}1.22$ among the surveyed children. 3. The oral health index was lower after TBI than before in all the children (P<.001). 4. Change in the oral health index was particularly larger in 7 year old female children (p<.005). 5. The patient hygiene performance index was lower after TBI than before in both the buccal surface and lingual surface of the children (p<.005). 6. The patient hygiene performance index was lower after TBI than before in all of male children's teeth except the right maxillary first deciduous molar (p<.001).

  • This study, dealing with obese bodily figures from the viewpoint of garment shape, was conducted with obese male children of late school ages(nine to eleven years old) to provide data for making ready-made clothing for obese children by directly measuring and analysing the bodily figure of the upper body of them. The results of the study are summarized as follows. 1. According to the basic statistics, for most of obese children the values of the measuring items by ages appeared to be large, and the results of comparison with the National Anthropometric Survey of Korea made in 1997 showed that the values were more large than those of standard physical conditions. 2. It was shown that in the correlation between items the upper breast circumference had a high correlation with all items, and the weight did with the following items such as circumference, height, width and thickness. 3. The results of the principal component analysis showed that six main components hand an explainable power of more than 75.60% for all materials. The first factor was thickness and obesity of the upper body, the second one the height, the third one the length of front and rear sides, the fourth one the width of neck, the fifth one the length of shoulder, and the sixth one the breast width and the wrist circumference.
