3-Line 버퍼를 사용한 실시간 Sobel 윤곽선 추출 블록 FPGA 구현 (FPGA Implementation for Real Time Sobel Edge Detector Block Using 3-Line Buffers)

  • 본 논문에서는 3-Line buffers를 사용하여 Sobel 윤곽선 추출 블록을 FPGA로 효율적으로 설계하여 구현하고자 한다. FPGA는 영상처리 알고리즘 중 하나인 Sobel 윤곽선 추출 알고리즘을 처리하기에 적절한 환경을 제공한다. 윤곽선 추출을 위한 방법으로는 파이프라인 방법을 사용하였다. Sobel 윤곽선 연산에서 윤곽선 강도 레벨을 결정하기 위하여 유한 상태 기계로 구현 된 마스크 연산을 이용한 모델을 제안한다. 효율적인 LUT 및 플리플롭의 사용으로 시스템의 성능이 향상됨을 입증하였다. 제안하는 3-line buffers을 이용한 Sobel 추출 연산은 Xilinx 14.2으로 합성하고 Virtex II xc2vp-30-7-FF896 FPGA device으로 구현하였다. Matlab을 이용하여 제안된 3-Line buffers 설계 시 PSNR 성능이 향상됨을 확인하였다.

Three-Phase Line-Interactive Dynamic Voltage Restorer with a New Sag Detection Algorithm

  • This paper describes the development of a three-phase line-interactive DVR with a new sag detection algorithm. The developed detection algorithm has a hybrid structure composed of an instantaneous detector and RMS-variation detectors. The source voltage passes through the sliding-window DFT and RMS calculator, and the instantaneous sag detector. If an instantaneous sag is detected, the RMS variation detector-1 is selected to calculate the RMS variation. The RMS variation detector-2 is selected when the instantaneous sag occurs under the operation of the RMS variation detector-1. The feasibility of the proposed algorithm is verified through computer simulations and experimental work with a prototype of a line-interactive DVR with a 3kVA rating. The line-interactive DVR with the proposed algorithm can compensate for an input voltage sag or an interruption within a 2ms delay. The developed DVR can effectively compensate for a voltage sag or interruption in sensitive loads, such as computers, communications equipment, and automation equipment.

  • This letter presents a power amplifier (PA) with an on-chip power detector for 2.4-GHz wireless local area network application. The power detector consists of a clamp circuit, a diode detector, and a coupled line directional coupler. A series inductor for an output matching network in the PA is combined with a through line of the coupler, which reduces the coupling level. Therefore, the coupler employs a metamaterial-based transformer configuration to increase coupling. The amount of coupling is increased by 2.5 dB in the 1:1 symmetric transformer structure and by 4.5 dB from two metamaterial units along the coupled line.

  • 본 논문에서는 펄스 모드 발진기와 지연선로를 이용하여 새로운 감지 형태를 갖는 버블형 동작감지기를 제안하고, 설계 및 제작하였다. 제안된 동작감지기는 송신 신호의 펄스폭으로 버블 형태의 감지 영역을 형성하며, 지연선로에 의해 시간 지연되는 거리에 해당하는 물체에서 반사된 신호만을 감지하여 IF 신호를 만들어낸다. 제작된 동작감지기는 중심주파수 8 GHz, 펄스 폭 2 nsec, 펄스 주기 30 nsec를 갖는 펄스 모드 발진기를 신호원으로 사용하였으며, 7 nsec와 12 nsec의 지연 시간을 갖는 선로 2개를 사용하여 1 m, 3 m, 5 m의 위치에 버블막 형태의 감지 영역을 성공적으로 형성하여 물체를 감지하였다.

  • The airpollutant may accelerate degradation of power line facilities, and may reduce the life of the electric facilities. In case of korea, there are a tendency that the density of air pollution may be increased by industrial development. while lack of research activity and establishment of a countermeasure on this issue. Recently the occurrence of electricity failure have been reduced on the power transmission and distribution lines. but the occurrence of electricity failure by insulator itself has been increased. It means that we should have develop more clear technique for detection of the wrong insulator. In this study to provide a method for detection of the insulator failure or effective management of the troubled insulator, we analyze the chemical composition of the insulator which used on power distribution line at the sea side locations. To define the relation between insulation and corona intensity, we design and develop an corona detector. We define the variation of insulation by pollution changes on the insulator and verify quantitative relation between corona and insulations using the corona detector.

비젼 기반의 포인팅 기기를 위한 퍼지 스크린 검출기 (Fuzzy Screen Detector for a Vision Based Pointing Device)

  • In this paper, we propose advanced screen detector as a tool for selecting the object for tracking and estimating its distance from a screen using fuzzy logic in vision based pointing device. Our system classifies the line component of the input image into horizontal and vertical lines and applies the fuzzy rule to obtain the best line pair which constitute peripheral framework of the screen. The proposed system improves the detection ratio for detecting the screen in relative to the detector used in the previous works for hand-held type vision based pointing device. Also it allows to detect the screen even though a small part of it may be hidden behind other object.

  • This paper deals with some characteristics of a nondestructive eddy current detector to measure OPGW(Composite overhead ground wire with optical fiber) corrosion. This detector is designed to automatically run on OPGW and to continuously inspect the corrosion of the line. The impedance of the eddy current coil changing by any corrosion phenomenon of OPGW is analyzed. Several performances of the detector are described and experimental procedures and test results are also given. As a result, it is shown that the implemented detector can be measured some quantitative data for crack, broken wires or severe deteriorations in OPGW. This nondestructive test method would be applied to improve the reliability and efficiency of transmission line in service.

  • An integrated in-line oil monitoring detector assigned for continuous in situ monitoring multiple parameters of oil performance for predicting economically optimal oil change intervals and equipment condition control is presented in this study. The detector estimates oil deterioration based on the information about chemical degradation, total contamination, water content of oil and oil temperature. The oil oxidation is estimated by "chromatic ratio", total contamination is measured by the changes in optical intensity of oil in three optical wavebands ("Red", "Green" and "Blue") and water content is evaluated as Relative Saturation of oil by water. The detector is able to monitor oils with low light absorption (hydraulic, transformer, turbine, compressor and etc. oils) as well as oils with rather high light absorption in visible waveband (diesel and etc. oils). In a case study that the detector is applied to a diesel engine oil, it is found that the detector provides good results on oil chemical degradation as well as soot concentration.

  • This article developes a cost-effective on-line measurement system of R - R intervals in ECG. The system is composed of a R peak detector, a timer and an Apple II computer (a 6502 microprocessor and memories). The system measures the R - R intervals in msec and stores them in a disk, for off-line analysis. A circuit diagram of the R peak detector and programs for controlling the microprocessor are presented.

CCTV 카메라용 광학계 설계 (Optical System Design for CCTV Camera)

  • 목적: 본 논문은 CCTV 카메라용 렌즈 설계를 triplet형으로 광학 설계를 하였다. 방법: 초점거리를 56 mm, 유효경을 20 mm 그리고 화각을 $5^{\circ}$로 한 망원 렌즈 형태이고, 설계하고자 하는 카메라의 CCD array detector의 크기를 2/3인치로 하였다. 결과: 광학계의 성능은 ray-fan과 spot diagram 그리고 회절 광학적인 MTF를 계산하여 평가하였고, 파장은 Fraunhofer C, d 및 F-line에 대해 achromat 되었으며 MTF 값도 tangential과 sagittal MTF 모두 50 line pairs/mm의 공간 주파수에 70% 정도가 나왔다. 결론: triplet형으로 비교적 저가 보급형 감시용 목적 CCTV 카메라를 설계하였고 충분히 실용적이라 생각된다.
