The proposed 3-D resonator is designed for reduction of cross polarization effect. The proposed 3-D resonator using LTCC consists of 2-D parallel resonators on X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis. The 2-D parallel resonator consists of two plate and one via. When the co-polarization electric filed is excited, the resonance frequency of 3-D resonator is 5.024GHz. The stop bandwidth is 19MHz. When the cross-polarization electric field is excited, the resonance frequency of 3-D resonator is 4.825GHz. The stop bandwidth is 19MHz. The proposed 3-D resonator achieve reduction of cross-polarization effect. The concrete consists of proposed 3-D resonator and absorbtion materials. The concrete will be applied for reduction or interference signal of ETCS(Electric Toll collection system).

A cavity resonator is coupled to oscillating circuit using aperture hole. Measured results show that the cylindrical cavity resonator oscillator (CRO) for Ku-band has less phase noise than the dielectric resonator oscillator (DRO) with the same oscillating circuit. It has output power of +3.92 dBm at the center frequency 13.4015250 GHz and phase noise of -109 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset.

  • In this paper, the phase noise of 900 MHz VCO is improved using modified strip line square ring resonator. In order to demonstrate the phase noise improvement of the proposed VCO, the same circuit was manufactured using shorted-circuit resonator. In condition of the same bias current, the phase noise of the proposed VCO with modified square ring resonator is suppressed by 7 dB as - 103 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset compared to the conventional VCO with short-circuit resonator. From the proposed VCO, we achieved output power of - 4.8 dBm, harmonics suppression of 16 dB, and tuning bandwidth of 100 MHz. The proposed VCO consumed 5 mA at 3 V, and its size is 1.2 cm ${\times}$ 1.0 cm.

  • In this paper, we propose a S-band oscillator with a reduced electrical size by applying a vertical split ring resonator(VSRR). The VSRR is a type of split ring resonator that operates as a resonator by the capacitance and inductance generated between the microstrip lines arranged on the top and bottom of the dielectric substrate and it has an advantage that the electrical size of the resonance circuit can be reduced as compared with the conventional ring resonator. In this paper, we design a VSRR operating over S-band and an oscillator using the VSRR as the resonant circuit. The proposed oscillator showed the output of 5.9dBm at 2.4HGz and showed the phase noise characteristics of -112.58dBc at 100KHz offset frequency and -117.85dBc at 1MHz offset.

  • A low phase-noise microwave oscillator is presented by a substrate integrated waveguide(SIW) loading a complementary split ring resonator(CSRR) in this paper. The unloaded $Q$-factor of the SIW cavity is increased by loading a complementary split ring resonator(CSRR) and its value exhibits 1960. It is theoretically and experimentally demonstrated that the proposed circuit generates 11.3 dBm of output power at 9.3 GHz and a phase-noise of -127.9 dBc/Hz at 1-MHz offset.

  • This paper describes a compact printed helical resonator and its application to a microwave oscillator circuit implemented in coplanar waveguide(CPW) technology. The high Q-factor and spurious-free characteristic of the resonator contribute to the phase noise reduction and the harmonic suppression of the resulting oscillator circuit, respectively. The designed resonator resonating at the frequency of 5.5 GHz showed a loaded Q of 180 in a chip area of only 40 % of the corresponding miniaturized hairpin resonator without any spurious resonances. The fully planar oscillator incorporated with this resonator showed additional phase noise reduction of 10.5 dB at 1 MHz offset and a second harmonic suppression enhancement of 6 dB when compared to those of a conventional CPW oscillator without the planar helical resonator(PHR) structure.

  • In this paper, the design method for a high-sensitivity compact resonator for chipless RFID tags is proposed. Proposed high-sensitivity compact resonator uses an interdigital-capacitor structure instead of a capacitor-shaped strip structure in a conventional ELC resonator. The length of the electrode plate of the IDC structure is longer than that of the conventional capacitor-shaped structure, resulting in a larger equivalent capacitance of the resonator. This can lower the resonant peak frequency of the RCS characteristic. Two resonators with the same length of the square loop and the width of the strip are fabricated on an RF-301 substrate with a thickness of 0.8 mm. The experiment results show that the resonant peak frequency and value of the bistatic RCS for the ELC resonator were 4.305 GHz and -30.39 dBsm, whereas those of the proposed IDC resonator were 3.295 GHz and -36.91 dBsm. Therefore, the size of the resonator is reduced by 23.5% based on the measured resonant peak frequency of the RCS characteristic.

  • In this paper, the bandpass filter for ITS system of 5.8 GHz is proposed by using the dual-mode resonator with the radial stub. As alternating the open stub with the radial stub, the size of the dual mode resonator can be reduced about 39.6% and the out-of-band characteristics of the bandpass filter using dual mode resonator can be enhanced from 19.4 dB to 29.1 dB by using the stub of $6.9{\Omega}$ i.e. realized by parallel two radial stubs with $60^{\circ}$ angle. The fabricated bnadpass filter using the dual mode resonator has the center frequency of 5.72 GHz with the fractional bandwidth of 4.1%. Also, the filter has the insertion loss and return loss of 1.79 dB and 19.4 dB, respectively.
