장방형 압전세라믹변압기의 전극형상이 전기적특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Electrodes on the Electrical Properties of Piezoelectric Ceramic Transformer)

  • The resonance characteristics on vibration mode of a transverse type ceramic resonator and the output voltage characteristics of a piezoelectric ceramic transformer are discussed in the effects of partial electrode arrangement (one sided, centered and both sided). A resonance characteristics of resonator depended strongly on both a vibration mode and a electrode structure because of a strain distribution. The maximum resonance current of a piezoelectric ceramic transformer [PCT] with partial centered electrode appeared in λ/2 mode, and that of a PCT with partial both sided electrode appeared in 3λ/2 mode. But the maximum output voltage of those samples appeared in λ/2 mode. In the PCT with partial both sided electrode, the ration of output voltage to input current was highest out of all samples and the poling voltage was a half times of 깬두 type transformer.

방전전극 재질과 최소점화에너지에 관한 실험 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Minimum Ignition Energy in Low Voltage Spark Discharge by Electrode Material)

  • In the hazardous areas where explosive gases, vapor or mists exist, electrical apparatus and installations must be the explosion-proof construction to prevent or limit the danger of the ignition of potentially explosive atmosphere. In Korea, nine types of protection have been specified in the government regulations at present: flameproof enclosure, pressurization, oil immersion, increased safety, intrinsic safety, non-incendive, powder filling, encapsulation, and special types. Among these types, the intrinsic safety has the construction which limit or by-pass igniting the electric energy using electronic devices. This type has lots of merits but at the same time requires a high-degree of technology. In this paper, we investigated several dominating factors which affect the minimum ignition energy; this energy plays a very important role in design and evaluation of the intrinsic safety type electrical apparatus. Electrode material, which is one of the most important factors, was intensively studied for the five sorts of material(Al, Cd, Mg, Sn, and Zn) with performing experiment in a low-voltage inductive circuit using IEC-type(International Electro-technical Commission) spark apparatus. The experimental results show that the minimum ignition energy of electrode material is varied: highest in Cd and lowest in Sn. We also confirmed the effect of electrode make-and-break speed.

  • In this paper we calculated and compared the arc driving force of two spiral-tyre vacuum interrupter electrode models which have 3petals and 4petals respectively by means of commercial finite element method software Maxwell 3D. As a result we can find that the more petals the electrode has, the stronger arc driving force was generated. This simulation method can contribute to optimization of spiral-type electrode designs in a view of arc driving force.

수침대 그물전극형 방전장치의 이온풍 발생특성 (Ionic Wind Generation Characteristics of a Water-Pen Point-to-Mesh Type Discharge System)

  • A point-to-mesh type discharge system, utilizing a water-pen point as a corona discharge electrode and a mesh as an ion induction electrode, has been proposed, and the effect of the water-pen point electrode of the discharge system to the ionic wind velocity and generation yield was investigated. It was observed that the proposed discharge system with the water-pen point electrode can generate a higher ionic wind velocity as compared with that of the metal point electrode. As a result, the peak ionic wind velocities of 2.61 and 4.05 m/s for the positive and negative corona discharges of the proposed discharge system can be obtained, which are 1.39 and 1.15 times higher than those of the metal point electrode with same design. The ionic wind generation yield of 4.72 m/s/W of the discharge system with the water-pen point electrode was obtained for the positive corona, which was 3.66 times higher than that of the metal point electrode. This enhancement may be due to the effect of the water-pen point electrode.

  • In this study, resonant characteristics of $Pb_{0.88}(La_{0.6}Nd_{0.4})_{0.08}(Mn_{1/3}Sb_{2/3})_{0.02}Ti_{0.98}O_3$ ceramics were investigated with the variations of electrode radius size for manufacturing the best 30MHz SMD type ceramic resonator with the size of $3.7{\times}3.1{\times}0.255mm^3$. Physical properties were proper for appling for 30MHz SMD type ceramic resonator. In third overtone thickness vibration mode, with increasing electrode radius size, resonant resistant($Z_r$) was decreased gradually. Mechanical quality factor($Q_{mt3}$) and dynamic range(D.R) showed the maximum value of 2,283, 47.1dB respectively, at 0.74mm electrode radius size.

  • Existing cooling technologies no longer provide adequate heat dissipation due to excessive heat generation caused by the growing component density on electronic devices. An ionic gas pump can be used for the thermal management of micro-electronic devices, since the size of pump can be reduced to a micrometer scale. In addition, the gas pump allows for gas flow control and generation without moving parts. This ideal property of gas pump gives rise to a variety of applications. However, all these applications require maximizing the wind velocity of gas pump. In this study a barrier discharge type gas pump, with a needle-shaped corona electrode instead of a plate-shaped corona electrode, has been investigated by focusing on the corona electrode shape on the wind velocity and wind generation yield. As a result, the enhanced wind velocity and wind generation yield of 1.76 and 3.37 times were obtained with the needle-shaped corona electrode as compared with the plate-shaped corona electrode of the proposed barrier discharge type gas pump.

페라이트 칩 노이즈 필터의 설계 및 특성에 관한 연구 (A study on the design and properties of ferrite chip noise filter)

  • Three models for the transformation of ferrite chip noise filter that has jagged type of electrode into cylinderical ferrite beadfilter were presented. The properties of filters were also calculated based on the proposed models. The measured properties of ferrite chip noise filter with jagged-type electrode fabricated with Ag electrode and Ni-Zn ferrite revealed that the model 3 was the best one to describe the behavior of filters. In particular, the calculated values of model 3 agreed well with measured ones as functions of electrode patterns and chip thickness. The present study showed that the properties of fiters could be designed by theoretical models and fabricated with required characteristics.

3전극형 반사형 컬러 디스플레이의 제작 및 구현 (Fabrication and Realization of Three-Electrode Type Color Reflective Display)

  • We propose a fabrication process of a 3-electrode type reflective display and ascertain the realized color panel. The first design is proceeded with basis on Ti electrode for fast panel fabrication, easy align process, and high reflection of a white image. To observe the particle movement at the lower electrodes and optimize the space between electrodes, we design the second patterns, from which we establish a fabrication process with the mixing of electronic ink, loading of this ink, electronic ink assembly, driving, and packaging. After aging process, we ascertain a normally driving panel with black, white, and blue color.

  • A parallel plate type electrolytic ozone generator for ozone asher has been fabricated and studied, and 4 kinds of ozone generation anode electrode having different slits have also been investigated. It is found that there were optimum conditions for the slits of electrode, which, however, controls the field in the interelectrode spacing, and allows sideflow waterpaths through the slits in the electrode. As a result, the generated ozone concentrations of A, B, C and D type electrode showed 2.2, 1.3, 1.5 and 3.0 ppm for 400 ml/min flowrate tap water test, and, ozone yields of 11, 13, 15 and 30 $mg/kWhcm^2$ respectively.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 대면적 수평형 GaN (Gallium Nitride) LED (Light-emitting diode) 전극패턴이 갖는 전류의 집중현상 및 소자 내 발열문제를 최소화하고 전기적 광학적 특성의 향상을 위하여 팔각 핑거 타입의 전극패턴을 제안하였고, 범용적으로 사용되는 기본 전극패턴 및 그를 대칭적으로 개량한 전극패턴과의 특성을 비교 분석하였다. 상용 3차원 시뮬레이터 SpecLED/RATRO를 통한 시뮬레이션 결과, 본 연구에서 제안한 팔각 핑거 타입의 전극패턴을 갖는 LED 소자가 동일한 350 mA의 전류주입 하에서의 동작전압이 약 0.34 V 정도 감소되는 전기적 특성의 향상을 확인하였고, 광출력 또한 타 구조에 비하여 약 7.72 mW 정도 향상되는 광학적 특성을 확인하였다.
