A Study on the RRA(Retrogression and Reaging) treatment of 7050 Al alloy (7050 Al 합금의 RRA 처리에 관한 연구)

  • The effects of RRA treatment on the microstructures and mechanical properties of 7050 Al alloy were investigated by differential scanning calolimetry, transmission electron microscopy, microhardness measurement and electrical conductivity. The hardness of 2nd-step aged specimen at $175^{\circ}C$ was decreased to mimimum value and increased to a peak hardness, and then re-decreased with retrogression treatment. It was found that the hardness of 2nd-step aged specimen was further increased by 3rd step aging treatment($120^{\circ}C$x24h). The initial decrease in hardness during 2nd-step aging was due to the partial dissolution of pre-existing GP zone, the major precipitation hardening phase at T6 condition. It was confirmed that the major precipitation hardening phase at 3rd-step aging was GP zone and η' phase. The electrical conductivity increased continually through 2nd-step and 3rd-step aging treatment. It was conclude that the optium 2nd-step aging condition was at $175^{\circ}C$ for 50min by considering the hardness and electrical conductivity.

Susceptibility of Tea Red Spider Mite, Tetranychus kanzawai (Acari: Tetranychidae) to Cyenopyrafen (차응애의 cyenopyrafen에 대한 감수성)

  • The acaricidal activity of cyenopyrafen on the tea red spider mite, Tetranychus kanzawai was evaluated in laboratory and field studies. In the laboratory, cyenopyrafen was highly effective against egg, larva, protonymph and adult female of T. kanzawai. In surviving adult females of T. kanzawai exposed to cyenopyrafen, we observed significant reduction in reproduction and no egg hatch. Effectiveness of cyenopyrafen against adult female of T. kanzawai on bean leaves was lasted for 15 days at treatments of 125 and 83.3 ppm. In a field study, cyenopyrafen exhibited excellent activity to mixed developmental stages of T. kanzawai. Based on the results, cyenopyrafen could be used for the control of T. kanzawai and treatment of this acaricide at 83.3 ppm was recommended as the field rate.

The Analysis of the Physiologic Activities of the Jeju Teas according to the Fermentational Degree (제주산 차의 발효 정도에 따른 생리활성 기능에 관한 연구)

  • In this present study, we investigated the anti-oxidant activity, the inhibition ability of lipid peroxidation, and the protective effect of cow pulmonary epithelium (CPAE) cells under oxidative stress using green tea and 3 types of fermented teas of Jeju Island. To compare the physiological activity of non-fermented and 3 types of fermented teas, the fermented time was controlled with 0 hr. (non fermented tea, G), 12 hrs. (20% fermented tea, F20), 17 hrs. (50% fermented tea, F50) and 24 hrs. (80% fermented tea, F80), respectively. Scavenging ability on DPPH radicals of 80 ${\mu}g/mL$ concentration of F20 was similar to that of 50 ${\mu}M$ epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) but it was stronger than those of G, F50 and F80. All extracts tested inhibited LDL oxidation but G and F20 inhibited LDL oxidation 25~30% more than F50 and F80 at 40 ${\mu}g/mL$ concentration which was similar to that of 50 ${\mu}M$ EGCG. We observed that the CPAE cells treated with the tea extracts had a significant increase in cell viability, especially the cells under oxidative stress with 1 mM $H_2O_2$ as compared with the control group (no treatment with tea extracts). These findings suggested that all tea extracts containing fermented tea had a protective effect on oxidative stressed CPAE cells through their free radical scavenging activity. It can be concluded that F20 extracted from 20% fermented tea has the most significant antioxidative effects that inhibit lipid peroxidation and protect the CPAE cells under oxidative stress.

  • In autumn season residual period of nicotine is observed in the larval duration, weight of molting larvae at the various stages, percentage of delayed molting larvae, and survival rate up to the 3rd stage from the 1st season to the 3rd season and up to the stage for four seasons, respectively. Mulberry tree is planted in pot from June 18, 1973 to August 4, 1973 and placed every other row between tobacco variety of Hicks cultivated in mulching system and control is prepared in the Sericultural Experiment Station, placing in the every ridge of mulberry field with the four seasons ; 5 day isolation (1st season), 15 day isolation (2nd season), 25 day isolation (3rd season), and 50 day isolation (4th season). 1) 1st and 3nd instar larvae fed with the tobacco stained mulberry leaf has longer larval duration for the four seasons, as compared with those of the control, increasing 12% in index with 28 hours, 17% in index with 37 hours, 23% in index with 50 hours, 17% in index with 43 hours from the 1st season to the fourth season and the 3rd to the 4th instar larvae, increasing 18% in index with 55 hours. 2) 2nd instar molting larvae, 3rd instar molting larvae from the 1st to the 4th season and 4th instar molting larvae at the 4th season decrease their larval weight respectively, as compared with the control. 3) Percentage of delayed molting larvae from the 3rd stage to the 4th stage goes up higher than that of the control in the End larval stage at the 3rd to the 4th season, in the 3rd larval stage at the 1st, the End, and the 4th season, and in the 4th larval stage at the 4th season, respectively. 4) Survival rates in the 2nd larval stage at the 2nd season to the 4th season, in the 3rd larval stage at the 1st to the 4th season, and in the 4th larval stage at the 4th season respectively are higher than that in the control.

Effect of the Foliar Application of Amino Acid Mixture on the Growth of Melon Seedlings (아미노산 엽면 시비가 멜론 묘의 생육에 미치는 영향)

  • The effect of the foliar application of amino acid mixture on the growth of melon (Cucumis melo L.) seedlings was investigated. The amino acid treatments were initiated at the first (Ll) or second (L2) fully expanded leaf stage. The concentrations of amino acid mixture used were 0,10, 20, and 30 mg . L$^{-1}$ . At Ll stage, the fresh and dry weights of shoot were high in the amino acid treatments. Plant height was the highest in 30 mg . L$^{-1}$ at the third sampling of Ll. At L2 stage, shoot fresh weight was the greatest when the concentration of amino acid mixture was 30 mg.L$^{-1}$ at the third sampling. Plant height was the highest in 30 mg L$^{-1}$ at the second and third samplings. At the third sampling of Ll stage the amino acid mixture affected leaf length and leaf width of the first true leaf. At the third sampling of L2 stage leaf length was not significantly dirtferent between treatments, while leaf width was greater in amino acid treatments. At the second and third samplings of Ll stage the amino acid mixture had effect on leaf length and leaf width of the second true leafs which were not significantly different between treatments at L2 stage. Leaf length and leaf width of the third true leaf were affected by amino acid treatments. In conclusion, when the first true leaf expanded\ulcorner three foliar applications of 20-30 mg . L$^{-1}$ amino acid mixture can stimulate the growth of melon seedlings. If the amino acid mixture is sprayed at the second true leaf stage, two foliar applications of 30 mg . L$^{-1}$ amino acid mixture can improve the growth of melon seedlings.

Physiological Characteristics and Leaf Growth of Hydrangea macrophylla var. acuminata Growing in Different Environmental Conditions (생육조건에 따른 산수국의 엽생장 및 생리적 특성)

  • To study for proper growing conditions of Hydrangea macrophylla var. acuminata, used as ornamental trees or sources of natural sweetenings and biological active compounds, two-year-old cuttings of the plant were subjected to different conditions, light intensity, watering, and fertilizing levels. Photosynthetic rates measured on October 2 differed significantly between two light intensity regimes, but the values measured on September 3 were not significantly different. Mean photosynthetic rates on the plot watered three times a week were higher than the cuttings on the plot watered once a week. Mean photosynthetic rates on the plot fertilized 200grams/cuttings were slightly higher than those of the cuttings on the control plot. Chlorophyll contents measured on August 2 and on September 3 were significantly different between the light intensity regimes. Chlorophyll contents measured on August 2 were significantly different between the moisture regimes, but not significantly different between the fertilizing levels. Means of leaf growth(length and width) measured the highest values on the plot watered three times a week, and on the plot in full-sun lighted.

  • Multimedia data service applications have to store and manipulate LOBs(unstructured large objects) composing multimedia data. As such, the tertiary storage devices such as an optical disk jukebox and a tape library that consist of a number of platters (the disks in case of an optical disk jukebox and the cartridge tapes in case of a tape library) have been considered essential for the storage system of a DBMS in order to efficiently support storage and management of vary large volume of data. Since the latency with tertiary storage is too long, the schemes for efficient retrieval of LOBs out of tertiary storage need to be investigated. In this paper, we investigated the tertiary I/O Considering the performance characteristics of the LOBs, we proposed various I/O scheduling heuristic algorithms that reduce latency in query processing with LOB retrieval from tertiary storage, and evaluated their performance through a detailed simulation.

Application of the Hybrid Constructed Wetland for a Reuse of the Effluent from Bio-industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant (바이오산업폐수처리수의 재이용을 위한 hybrid 인공습지 시스템의 적용가능성 연구)

  • The hybrid constructed wetland(HCW) as tertiary treatment process of a bio industrial wastewater treatment plant was employed to estimate applications for the reuse of final effluent. Raw wastewater was sequently treated through chemical and biological treatment processes and the biologically treated water was flowed into the HCW. The HCW system was composed of two constructed wetlands connected in series; The one is the aerobic constructed wetland with natural air draft system whose driving force for air supply was the difference between the temperature of the air inside the wetland and the ambient air, and the other is the anaerobic/anoxic constructed wetland. Average influent concentrations of BOD, SS, T-N and T-P in the HCW were 53mg/L, 48mg/L, 34mg/L and 3mg/L, respectively. After being treated at HCW, final effluent concentrations of BOD, SS, T-N and T-P were 2.3mg/L, 1.2mg/L, 7.95mg/L and 0.83mg/L, respectively. Referring to a reuse standard for a sewage wastewater, final effluent could sufficiently be reuse as landscaping, washing or agriculture water. HCW system with the aerobic/anaerobic combined constructed wetland could be achieved a high removal efficiency because each constructed wetland was functionalized to be removed efficiently organics, nitrogen and phosphorus. HCW system could be estimated to be successful application as tertiary treatment process of a various industrial and municipal wastewater.

Acaricidal Activity of Individual and Combined treatments of Plant Extracts against the Tea Red Spider Mite, Tetranychus kanzawai (Acari : Tetranychidae), a Pest of Tea Plant (차나무를 가해하는 차응애에 대한 식물추출물 단독 및 혼합처리의 살비 효과)

  • The acaricidal activity of extracts of Gleditsia japonica var. koraiensis, Camellia sinensis, Cinnamomum cassia, Lantana camara and their mixtures against the tea red spider mite, Tetranychus kanzawai was evaluated. Treatments with mixtures 3 and 1 were effective against the adult females of T. kanzawai and yielded 82.0% and 77.3% adulticidal activities at 7 days after treatment, respectively. Treatment with mixture 2 revealed 68.0% adulticidal activity. Generally, the acaricidal activity of the single treatment of each plant extract was lower than the mixtures. The adult females of T. kanzawai treated with mixtures 3 and 1 produced only 24.0~29.6% as many eggs as control females did. The residue of the plant extracts tested had low adulticidal activity (16.7~31.3% at 7 days after treatment). All the plant extracts tested exhibited no remarkable toxic effect to the eggs of T. kanzawai. Treatments of mixtures 3 and 1 were effective against nymphs of T. kanzawai and led to emergence rates of 16.7 and 22.0%, respectively. These results suggest that mixtures 3 and 1 might be used for the control of T. kanzawai in tea fields.

분만후 젖소의 비유능력 및 BCS에 따른 $PGF_2a + PGF_2a+CIDR$ plus program 투입 효과에 관한 연구

  • 고능력 젖소와 보통능력 젖소의 번식능력을 비교하기 위하여 progesterone을 분석하여 분만후 초발정일을 추정하였고, 번식자료를 통하여 분만 후 번식성적을 조사하였으며, 또한 비유능력 및 Body condition score(BCS) 에 따른 $PGF_2a + PGF_2a+CIDR$ program 투입 효과를 구명하기 위하여 분만 후 40일째에 $PGF_2a$를 1차 처리한 후 발정이 발현되지 않은 개체에 대하여 1 차 처리후 14일째에 다시 2차 $PGF_2a$를 처리하였고 2차 $PGF_2a$ 처리후에도 발정이 발현되지 않은 개체에 대하여 2차 $PGF_2a$ 처리후 5일째에 CIDR plus를 처리하여 발정유기율을 조사분석하였던 바, 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 가. 보통능력우와 고능력우의 분만후 progesterone peak를 나타내는 일수는 각각 $38.8 \pm 11.1$$39.6 \pm 9.7$일로 거의 비슷한 경향을 나타내었음 나. 보통능력우와 고능력우의 분만후 발정재귀일수는 각각 $99.4 \pm 71.6$$117 7 \pm 78.6$일로 고능력우에서 18.3일 늦어지는 경향이었음 다 보통능력우와 고능력우의 분만후 수태일수에 있어서 각각 $145.9 \pm 102.8$$165.9 \pm 100.8$일로 고능력우에서 20일 늦어지는 경향이었음 라. 보통능력우와 고능력우의 분만간격에 있어서 각각 421.5 \pm 107.2$$448.4 \pm 108.7$일로 고능력우에서 26.9일 늦어지는 경향을 나타내었음 마 보통능력우와 고능력우에 있어서 1차 $PGF_2a$ 처리시 각각 39.1% 및 60.0%, 2차 $PGF_2a$ 처리시 각각 42.9% 및 70.0%, CIDR plus 처리시 50.0% 및 66.7%의 발정 유기율을 나타내었음 바. BCS에 따라 $PGF_2a + PGF_2a+CIDR$ plus program을 투입한 결과 BCS 2.5 이하와 BCS 2.75-3.50에 있어서 1차 $PGF_2a$ 처리시 각각 47.4% 및 48.3%, 2차 $PGF_2a$ 처리시 각각 40.0% 및 66.7%, CIDR plus 처리시 각 각 50.0% 및 80.0%의 발정 유기율을 나타내었음
