Effects on tractive performance of design parameters of cage wheel as a traction aid to driving tires of tractor in wet paddy field were investigated experimentally. an experimental cage wheel was designed so that the design parameters such as wheel diameter, wheel width, lug pitch and lug angle could be varied during traction test, The traction test was conducted in two different types of wet paddy field ; shallow and deep harpan fields . Experimental results showed that tractive performance is affected by both soil conditions and the design parameters. A considerable improvement on the tractive performance was obtained by using a cage wheel with 45$^{\circ}$ lug angle in shallow hardpan and smaller lug pitch in deep hardpan. The diameter of cage wheel was mostly influential to the tractive performance both in shallow and deep hardpans.

The roller rig tester for safety performance evaluation of wheel derailment is a test facility which can give the test load condition to the test wheel, similar to the actual dynamic condition in actual running condition. This study describes the evaluation result on the durability of the resilient wheel equipped with the ring damper and the damping material, and installed in the half part of a full scaled bogie in combination with the primary spring when it rotates under the dynamic condition. The evaluation result on durability of resilient wheel after load test of 2 million cycles shows that the safety of wheel is not affected by the applied load in visual inspection and nondestructive test, however, in the bolt used for fastening the ring damper to the wheel the loosening was found. Accordingly the use of self-locking nut and washer is recommended.
While the wheel flat is an asymmetrical phenomenon in the railway, majority of researches have used two-dimensional models in the investigation of the effect of wheel flat on the wheel rail forces. This is due to the considerably low computational costs of two dimensional (2D) models although their reliability is questionable. This leaves us with the question of "what is the optimum modeling technique?". It is addressed in this research. For this purpose, two and three dimensional numerical models of railway vehicle/track interaction were developed. The three dimensional (3D) model was validated by comparisons of its results with those obtained from a comprehensive field tests carried out in this research and then, the results obtained from the 2D and 3D models were compared. The results obtained indicate that there are considerable differences between wheel/rail forces obtained from the 2D and 3D models in the conditions of medium to large wheel-flats. On the other hand, it was shown that the results of the 2D models are reliable for particular ranges of vehicle speed, railway track stiffness and wheel-fats lengths and depths. The results were used to draw a diagram, which presents the optimum modeling technique, compromising between the costs and accuracy of the obtained results.
The strength design for the lightweight bicycle wheel made of the Carbon/Epoxy composite laminates has been discussed in this paper. For bicycle wheel design, lightness of the wheel is important. Also, it has to satisfy the required strength under specific loading cases. Two testing methods for the bicycle wheel, i.e. vertical and complex loadings, are adopted in this study. Because the strengths of composite wheel is different in relation to the stacking sequence and the number of plies, it is important to decide an appropriate stacking sequence and number of layers for the composite wheel. From the finite element analysis results, the most stable sequence orientation and number of layers are determined. The stacking sequence $[0]_{8n}$, $[90]_{8n}$, $[0/90]_{2ns}$, $[{\pm}45]_{2ns}$, $[0/{\pm}45/90]_{ns}$ (n=1,2,3,4)are performed for finite element analysis. From results, $[0/{\pm}45/90]_{3s}$ lay-up is a good selection for the composite bicycle wheel. Also, the weakest point and layer are found in this study.
This paper presents the 2nd excitation control of the wound-rotor induction motor with Fly-wheel. In the wound-rotor induction motor, the primary power is controlled by AC excitation which used the secondary power conversion. Based on theory, this paper describes the dynamic response analysis of the wound-rotor induction motor with Fly-wheel and Simulation using MATLAB is performed to verify the proposed control method.

Line 2 is being operated in 10 cities and it composed the amount of rolling stock combination. Line 2 rails have more curved than straight rails. So, wheels and rails were damaged. Accidents or delays caused many social problems. so it is important that wheel and rail are efficiently managed. Here, find out the cause of wheel-slip characteristics and workarounds were studying. Chapter 1 Background and Purpose. Chapter 2 about wheel slip problem and seek way improving adhesiveness. Chapter 3 Conclusion.
In this paper, an analytical and experimental study was performed in order to determine the effects of interaction between vehicle and structure. Results presented in the paper show that analytical method including moving load effect can investigate the trend of structural response due to dynamic interaction between vehicle and structure. The wheel tracking machine fitted with 2-axle test vehicle can demonstrate more accurate dynamic interaction between vehicle and structure than the wheel tracking machine fitted without 2-axle test vehicle.
The present pesticide application technology widely used with a power sprayer in Korea is assessed as the problem awaiting solution in the point of view of its ineffectiveness, inefficiency, and environmental contamination. As one approach to get rid of these problems, the boom spraying with ultra-low volume and precision application technology has been recommended. The study was undertaken to investigate plants damages incurred by the self-propelled boom-sprayer vehicle, to develop the design criteria of vehicle wheel, and to compare plant damages caused by the front wheel steering vehicle, the 4-wheel drive vehicle and the articulated vehicle, by the computer simulation. The experiment showed that the amount of damaged plants incurred by the self-propelled boom sprayer were about 0.29% in average in the field size of 100m$\times$50m(0.5ha), about 60~80% of which recovering while growing. The recommandable wheel size was analyzed to be 70~100cm in diameter, 8~15cm in width from the vehicle-plant-soil relationship. The simulation on damaged plants anticipated to be incurred by various steering vehicles showed that the smaller the turning radius, the lesser the damaged plants within its range of 3~5m. Average plant damage rate by the front wheel steering vehicle, the 4-wheel drive vehicle and articulated vehicle was relatively assessed to be 2 : 1.8 : 1.

In this study, the acceleration performance improvement was analyzed for a 2-speed transmission applied EV. An EV simulator was developed to analyze the EV acceleration performance. The EV simulator includes a load transfer model between the front and rear. Thus, the EV simulator can analyze the acceleration performance difference between the front-and rear-wheel drive EVs. From the simulation results, it is deduced that the acceleration performance can be improved by 7.96% for the front-wheel drive EV and 16.10% for the rear-wheel drive EV. The 2-speed transmission can improve the acceleration performance without decreasing its maximum velocity. Moreover, the 2-speed transmission can improve the acceleration performance of the rear wheel drive more than that of the front-wheel drive EV.

In this study, the loader was completed that has 4-wheel gear driven drivetrain of study (Ⅰ), the 4-wheel steering with power wheel type, all-wheel traction system, and joy-stick type lever for hydraulic control valve. From driving test of the developed 4WD and 4WS type loader, we obtained that the minimum circling radius and the necessary width in circling motion reduced about 40% and 33% compared with 2WS type loader. Also, all-wheel traction system could keep the tires glued to the ground with greater stability, the power steering allowed a smoother operation, and the joy-stick type lever offered easily to control. Thus, the developed loader having these functions was very fit in a small cattle shed or rugged ground.
