Fatigue Strength Assessment of a Ship Structures using the Influence Coefficient Concept and Spectral Analysis Technique (영향계수법과 스펙트럼 해석법을 이용한 선체의 피로강도평가)

  • The up-to-date fatigue strength assessment system for ship structures was developed based on the spectral analysis method and numerical calculation for a membrane type LNG carrier was carried out to verify the effectiveness of the developed system. The wave induced loads acting on the ship's hull were calculated based on strip theory. And introducing the concept of influence factor and 3-D fine mesh structural analysis, direct calculation of long-term distribution of wave induced stress components was realized. Using the derived long term distribution of stress components and Miner-Parmgren's linear damage accumulation rule, fatigue strength of structural components were investigated.

  • 본 연구는 수정 오일러 법칙을 이용한 봉의 열전달문제를 엄밀해와 수치해를 수치해석적 해법을 이용해 비교한 것이다. 경계조건으로는 열전도 및 대류가 동시에 존재하는 경우의 모델을 가정하여 계산하였고, 봉의 길이가 원주방향에 비해 상당히 길다고 가정하여 1차원으로 지배방정식을 정리하여 2차 상미분방정식을 유도하여 계산을 수행하였다. 계산을 수행한 결과 적절한 초기 추측값인 ${\beta}$값을 정의하면 오일러의 방정식으로도 충분히 만족할만한 결과를 얻을 수 있다는 것을 알았고, 지수함수 형태의 유도 상관식이 엄밀해와 ${\pm}1%$ 범위 내에서 일치한다는 결과를 얻었다.

  • Albedo-type boundary condition is incorporated into the finite element formulation of the cubic Hermite polynomials for the two-dimensional solution of the two-group diffusion problem. Two modifications are introduced with respect to the conventional expression for the weak form of the group diffusion equation with the zero flux or zero current boundary condition and the cubic element functions over the boundary nodes. The finite element formulations obtained from those modifications are tested with the two-dimensional ZION problem. The numerical effectiveness of the modifications are examined.

  • 2차원 화합물 반도체인 GaS single tetralayer에 존재하는 vacancy defect의 원자구조 및 전자구조 특성을 제일원리계산을 이용하여 연구하였다. 고립된 Ga과 S vacancy를 모델링하기 위해, GaS $4{\times}4$ supercell을 이용하였고 각 vacancy에 대해 symmetry-preserving 구조와 broken symmetry 구조들의 에너지를 계산하여 가장 안정한 결함 원자 구조를 결정하였다. Ga-rich, S-rich condition에서의 formation energy 계산을 통해 vacancy 구조의 생성 가능성을 예측하였다. 안정한 vacancy 구조들에 대해 projected density of states (PDOS)를 clean GaS의 PDOS와 비교 분석함으로써 vacancy에 의한 defect states들을 찾고, 결과적으로 나타나는 전자구조 특성의 변화를 규명하였다.

  • 마이크로 흐름센서는 종래의 반도체 집적회로 공정기술을 이용하여 소형으로 제작이 가능하며, 빠른 응답특성을 가지는 장점이 있어 다양한 응용이 기대되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 넓은 흐름의 세기영역에서 정밀한 감도를 가지는 2차원 마이크로 흐름센서를 실리콘 기판위에 설계하여 왔다. 이러한 흐름센서의 정확한 온도특성을 분석하고 이 결과로부터 최적을 온도 감지막 위치를 결정할 필요가 있다. 설계방법으로서 표계산 소프트웨어 Excel을 이용하여 열운송방정식의 차분 방정식을 매크로 기능을 이용하여 적용하고 워크시트 내에서 셀 참조방식을 활용하여 자동 계산을 수행하도록 구현하였다. 본 연구에서는 Excel을 활용한 효율적인 설계방법을 제시하고 하나의 히터와 양측에 한 쌍의 온도 감지막을 가진 마이크로 흐름센서에 대해서 열전달 특성을 계산하고 이로부터 최적을 온도 감지막 위치를 결정할 수 있었다.

  • A Finite volume method for the computation of the two-dimensional, incompressible, steady, laminar Navier-Stokes equation is developed using a non-staggered grid system in a general curvilinear coordinate. The numerical pressure fluctuations, usually encountered when the non-staggered grid system is used, is suppressed by the momentum interpolation method. Flows around a NACA0012 foil section have been computed by the present method and the results show good agreements with other experimental and numerical ones.

  • Most of previous works for skyline queries have focused only on static attributes of target objects. With the advance in mobile applications, however, the need of continuous skyline queries for moving objects has been increasing. Even though several techniques to process continuous skyline queries have been proposed recently, they cannot process subspace queries, which use only the subset of attribute dimensions. Therefore it is not feasible to utilize those methods for mobile applications which must consider moving objects and subspaces simultaneously. In this paper, we propose a dominant object-based pruning method to compute subspace skyline of moving objects efficiently at query time and present the experimental results to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, electromagnetic scattering analysis of Fresnel Lens by using 2D FDTD method was performed. Fresnel lens which is consigured 7 diffracted conductors, and considered at 5GHz. As a result, axial gain characteristic corresponding to near design focusing distance at 0.71m is 26dB.

  • This paper proposes systolic array architectures for compuataion of the 1-D and 2-D discrete wavelet transform (DWT). The proposed systolic array for compuataion of the 1-D DWT consists of L processing element (PE) arrays, where the PE array denotes the systolic array for computation of the one level DWT. The proposed PE array computes only the product terms that are required for further computation and the outputs of low and high frequency filters are computed in alternate clock cycles. Therefore, the proposed architecuter can compute the low and high frequency outputs using a single architecture. The proposed systolic array for computation of the 2-D DWT consists of two systolic array architectures for comutation of the 1-D DWT and memory unit. The required time and hardware cost of the proposed systolic arrays are comparable to those of the conventional architectures. However, the conventional architectures need extra processing units whereas the proposed architectures fo not. The proposed architectures can be applied to subband decomposition by simply changing the filter coefficients.

  • A computer program, MSSLL, was developed for the analysis of the "Multiple Shell Subjected to Lateral Loads" by utilizing 2-dimensional finite elements in a 3-dimensional global assemblage with 6 DOF at each nodal point. In this program, substructuring procedure with frontal solver was introduced in the solution procedure to save both human and computer resource when the whole structure consists of repeated identical substructures. Some of the results obtained by MSSLL were compared with the existing solutions by other methods. The effect of rise to span-length ratio was investigated for the behavior of the multiple conical shell with 8 substructures subjected to seismic loads by performing a parametric study.
