미국 유기양돈의 생산과 유통 -현황과 농가의 결정에 영향을 미치는 요인들-

  • 미국의 콘벨트와 같이 곡물을 집약적으로 재배하는 지역에서 관행생산으로부터 유기적 생산으로 전환할 때 문제가 되는 것은 어떻게 하면 작물윤작을 더 많은 이익이 나올 수 있도록 선택하고 관리하는가 하는 점이다. 곡물생산을 중단하고 사료와 녹비작물을 재배하는데 드는 기회비용은 상당하다. 많은 유기농업 연구자, 학자들은 가축사육을 농장에 도입하여 다양화와 노동력 활용도를 높일 필요가 있음을 강조하고 있다. 가축 역시 곡물생산량이 줄어드는 것을 보완해줄 정도로 곡물 및 사료작물의 가치를 늘려 추며, 곡물생산에 쓰여진 양분을 퇴비를 통해 재활용할 수 있게 해 준다. 곡물 집약재배 지역에서 유기농가는 양돈이 경종체계에 자연스럽게 들어맞는 것으로 생각해 볼 필요가 있다. 돼지는 곡물과 사료작물 모두에 가치를 증대시켜 줄 수 있는 아주 효율적이고 적용이 쉬운 가축이다. 그다지 많지는 않지만 유기적, 지속가능한 양돈 생산에 관해서는 문헌이 좀 있다. 그러나 유기농가로 하여금 유기양돈 생산을 하도록, 그리고 유통의 방법을 어떻게 할 것인가 결정을 내리는데 도움을 줄 수 있는 그런 비교적 구체적인 정보는 그리 많지 않다. 이 글의 주요 초점은 미국 중부지방에서의 유기축산 생산(주로 돼지)에 관한 배경과, 시장의 추세, 인구적 특성, 미국의 기준들에 비추어 생산과 유통에 관한 결정 및 고려사항들에 대한 개관을 제시해 보는 일이다. 농장 수준에서 의사결정은 토지, 노동, 금융과 사회적 자본과 같은 자원을 각종 기회와 더불어 고려하여 이루어져야 한다. 이러한 결정은 모두 농장 차원을 넘어 각종 기준과 시장에서의 세력들의 맥락을 보고 이루어져야 한다. 각 개인의 수준에서는 농업인 역시 유기 흑은 환경친화적 농업에 관한 확신, 바꾸어 보겠다는 결심, 생활양식과 가족에 대한 영향, 그리고 농업인과 가족 경영에 대한 계획의 지평이라고 하는 범위 내에서의 유기적 방식으로의 전환에 관하여 결정을 내려야 한다.aotic motion)의 해석도 가능하다. 이 글에서는 비선형 진동해석을 위한 정규모드 동역학에 대한 연구동향 및 기본 이론을 살펴 보았고, 그 적용 예를 통하여 실험결과와 비교 고찰 함으로써 정규모드 동역학의 적용성을 서술하여 보았다. 선형이론으로 이해하기 어려운 현상들에 대하여는 비선형의 관점에서 새롭게 접근하 려는 노력이 필요하며 비선형 이론에 대한 연구가 지속적으로 진행되어야 한다. 진행되어야 한다.VA코드를 사용하여 흡기포트와 연소실 그리고 밸브의 움직임을 동시에 고려한 수치해석을 도입하였다. 하지만 이들이 밸브의 운동을 고려하기 위해 사용한 이동격자는 격자점은 시간에 따라 변화하지만 그 격자의 수가 일정하게 유지되어 있어서 밸브의 완전개폐를 해석할 수가 없다. 강희정[6]은 단일 실린더와 단일 배기밸브를 갖는 문제로 단순화하여 피스톤과 밸브의 움직임을 고려하므로써 배기행정 후 소음이 어떻게 전파해 나가는가를 연구하였다. 본 연구에서도 최소밸브간격과 최대밸브간격 사이에서만 계산이 가능하나 흡기의 경우는 밸브가 닫힐 때 생기는 압력파가 중요하므로 실린더와 밸브사이에 벽면조건을 주어 밸브의 개폐를 모사하였다.술을 보유하고자 한다. 이용한 해마의 부피측정은 해마경화증 환자의 진단에 있어 육안적인 MR 진단이 어려운 제한된 경우에만 실제적 도움을 줄 수 있는 보조적인 방법으로 생각된다.ofile whereas relaxivity at high field is not affected by τS.   • When the landfill gas generated at the landfill site is released into the atmosphere, methane gas with a high global warming potential is emitted, which adversely affects climate change. When methane contained in landfill gas is used as fuel for internal combustion engines and burned to generate electricity, it is emitted into the atmosphere in the form of carbon dioxide, which can contribute to lowering the global warming potential. Therefore, in order to use the landfill gas as fuel for power generation using an internal combustion engine, it is important to increase the thermal efficiency of the engine. Thus, it is necessary to use a fuel supply system in which gas is injected using an electronically controlled injector at an intake port for each cylinder rather than a fuel supply technology using the conventional mixer technology. In order to use the electronically controlled gas injection method, it is important to accurately measure the mass flow rate according to the conditions of using landfill gas. For this, a study was conducted to measure the injection amount and calculate them in order for the intake port gas injection of landfill gas.

  • The characteristics of pressure loss in an asymmetric bifurcating tube were investigated numerically for steady inspiratory conditions. The loss coefficient K calculated for various asymmetry and flow-distribution ratios found in human lung airways showed a power-law dependence on the Reynolds number (Re) and length-to-diameter ratio (L/d), with different exponents for Re $\geq$ 100 and Re < 100. The fundamental characteristics of the asymmetric bifurcation are similar to the case of symmetric bifurcation. In addition, the effect of skewed inlet velocity profiles on the pressure loss was weak, and decreased with an increasing number of bifurcations.

  • Natural gas fuel has known to be very promising in terms of abundancy and economic value. Therefore it is widely treated as research topics in a variety field of production, storage and utilization. Natural gas has become one of the major sources for the power generation by using internal combustion engines(ICE). Development of natural gas fuel injection device should be preceded to realize a reliable natural gas fuel supply system for a MW class power generation reciprocating ICE. In this research, an injection valve which consists of solenoid and body part with a moving plate was designed and its dynamic performance was experimented in the engine-like environment. Displacement length and diameter of an armature and diameter of a solenoid coil were tested at former study. In this research the effect of materials of solenoid core, size of main housing inlet and supply gas pressure are examined.

Parameters Affecting Indoor Air Exposure to Volatile Organic Compounds (휘발성 유기화합물에 대한 실내공기노출에 영향을 미치는 인자)

  • Volatile organic rompounds(VOCs) present in the VOCs-contaminated water are released to air while showering and their air concentrations depend on the shower parameters, resulting in the variation of the VOCs breath concentration. The present study evaluated the key shower parameters(water temperature and inhalation duration) that affect the inhalation exposure to air chloroform while showering, by determining chloroform breath concentration. The chloroform breath concentrations increased with water temperature and inhalation duration increase. The two inhalation exposure conditions which resulted in the greatest chloroform breath contentration difference were a 5 min-inhalation exposure with warm water and a 15 min-inhalation exposure with hot water. The chloroform breath concentration was almost three times higher after later exposure. The mathematical model analyzing the relationship between two key shower parameters and breath concentration normalized to water concentration fits quite Ivell with the experimental data at a probability of p : 0.0001.

  • Background: Heliox is known to decrease $PaCO_2$ in patients with increased airway resistance by increasing minute ventilation and reducing work of breathing(WOB). Besides these effect, heliox is expected to decrease functional anatomic dead space owing to improvement of peak expiratory flow rate(PEFR) and enhancement of gas distribution. We investigated whether heliox can decrease $PaCO_2$ even at the same minute ventilation (VE) and WOB with $N_2-O_2$ to speculate the effect of the heliox on the anatomic dead space. Material and Method: The subjects were 8 mechanically ventilated patients with asthma or upper airway obstruction(M : F=5 : 3, $68{\pm}10$years) who were under neuromuscular paralysis. The study was consisted of three 15-minutes phases: basal $N_2-O_2$ heliox and washout Heliox was administered via the low pressure inlet of servo 900C, and respiratory parameters were measured by pulmonary monitor(CP-100 pulmonary monitor, Bicore, Irvine, CA, USA). To obtain the same tidal volume(Vt) in heliox phase, the Vt on monitor was adjusted by the factor of relative flow rate of heliox to $N_2-O_2$. Dead space was calculated by Bohr equation. Results: 1) Vt, VE, peak inspiratory pressure(PIP) and peak inspiratory flow rate(PIFR) were not different between $N_2-O_2$ and heliox. 2) PEFR was higher on heliox($0.52{\pm}0.19$L/sec) than $N_2-O_2$($0.44{\pm}0.13$L/sec)(p=0.024). 3) $PaCO_2$(mmHg) were decreased with heliox($56.1{\pm}14.1$) compared to $N_2-O_2$($60.5{\pm}15.9$)(p=0.027). 4) Dead space ventilation(%) were decreased with heliox($73{\pm}9$ with $N_2-O_2$ and $71{\pm}10$ with heliox)(p=0.026). Conclusion: Heliox decreased $PaCO_2$ even at the same VE and WOB with $N_2-O_2$, and the effect was considered to be related with the reduction of anatomic dead space.

  • The Miller cycle is a diesel engine that has been developed in recent years that it can reduce NOx and improve fuel consumption by reducing the compression ratio through intake valve closing (IVC) time control. The Miller cycle can be divided into the early Miller method of closing the intake valve before the bottom dead center (BDC) and the late Miller method of closing the intake valve after the BDC. At low speeds, the late Miller method is advantageous as it can increase the volumetric efficiency; while at medium and high speeds, the early Miller method is advantageous because of the high internal temperature reduction effect due to the expansion of the intake air during the piston lowering from IVC to BDC. Therefore, in consideration of the ef ects of the early and late Miller methods, it is necessary to adopt the most suitable Miller method for the operating conditions. In this study, a two-stage turbo charge system was applied to four-stroke engines and the process of enhancing the Miller effect through a reduction of the intake and exhaust valve overlap as well as the valve change adjustment mechanism were considered. As a result, the ef ects of fuel consumption and Tmax reduction were confirmed by adopting the Miller cycle with a two-stage supercharge, a reduction of valve overlap, and an increase of suction valve lift.

Development of Low-Cost, Double-Speed, High-Precision Operation Control System for Range Extender Engine (레인지 익스텐더 전기자동차 엔진용 저가형 2단속도 고정밀 운전제어시스템 개발)

  • The range extender vehicle runs on a mechanism that allows the small power generation engine to start in the most efficient specific operating range to charge the battery and extend the mileage. In this study, we developed a step motor type intake air supply system that replaces existing throttle body system to develop a simple low cost control logic system. The system was applied to the existing base engine, and in order to improve the performance by increasing the amount of intake air, the effect of changing the length of the intake and exhaust manifold was experimentally examined. As a result, the Type B intake air control actuator operated by one step motor showed higher performance than the Type A in all the operation region, but the performance was lower than that of the base engine due to the increase of flow resistance. To improve this, it was confirmed that the engine performance was improved at both speeds of 2200rpm and 4300rpm when the 140mm adapter was installed in the intake manifold and when the newly designed 70mm exhaust manifold was applied. Through this process, high - precision operation control was realized by connecting the generator load to the optimized engine for the range extender electric vehicle. Experimental results showed that the speed change rate was within ${\pm}2.5%$ at 2200rpm in 1st stage and 4300rpm in 2nd stage and the speed follow-up result of 610 rpm/s was obtained when the speed was increased from 2200rpm to 4300rpm.

Development of natural gas fuel injection device should be preceded to realize a reliable natural gas fuel supply system for a MW class power generation reciprocating ICE. In this research, an injection valve which consists of solenoid and body part with a moving plate was designed and its dynamic performance was experimented in the engine-like environment. As a result of the experiments, linearity of flow rate was obtained and overall around 2ms of response time was observed at the pressure difference of 1bar. In addition, more than 100Liter/min(@2Hz) of gas flow rate was witnessed, which is expected to be adequate for the fuel supply system of a MW class natural gas engine.

A Numerical Study on Performance of a Heavy-Duty Diesel engine for Power Generation under Natural Gas-Diesel Dual Fuel Operation (발전용 대형 디젤 엔진의 천연가스-디젤혼소 운전 특성에 대한 수치해석 연구)

  • This study is an 1-D numerical study prior to modification of diesel engine for power plants to natural gas/diesel dual fuel engine using GT-Power with 1.5MW diesel engine for power generation. Natural gas injector was installed to intake manifold for dual fuel engine model. Effects on engine performance and characteristics were investigated when dual fuel is used in unmodified diesel engine. The analysis was done under 5 conditions from 0% to 40% of mixing rate on 720RPM engine speed. As a result of research, the engine performance was decreased as increasing ratio of natural gas. Engine brake power was decreased by 18.4% under 40% mixing rate condition. To clarify the reason, effects of injection timing and period were evaluated with DOE method. Considering this result, optimization was done for these parameters. Also, comparison between performances of dual fueled engine and diesel engine was made after optimizing the timing of injection by DOE method. As a result, engine brake power was decreased by 8.55% under mixing rate 40% condition showing 12.5% improvement.
