공기포일베어링에 지지된 마이크로가스터빈의 회전체동역학적 설계 (Rotordynamic Design of the Micro Gas Turbine Supported by Air Foil Bearings)

  • This paper presents a performance analysis of the 1st generation bump foil journal bearings for the micro gas turbine TG75. Static performances such as load capacity and attitude angle are estimated by using soft elasto-hydrodynamic analysis technique, and dynamic performances such as stiffness and damping coefficients are estimated by perturbation method. Rotordynamic analysis for TG75 is performed by using the bearing analysis results. TG75 rotor has 2 horizontal and vertical directional natural modes due to the bearing stiffness characteristics. TG75 rotor will be stably operated between the 1st bending mode at 33000cpm and the 2nd bending mode at 85500cpm. Unbalance response analysis results satisfy the API vibration criteria.

초전도 자기베어링-플리이휠 시스템의 회전체 해서 및 실험 (Rotordynamic Analysis and Experiment of Superconducting Magnetic Bearings-Flywheel System)

  • The flywheel energy storage system using superconducting magnetic bearings is a device to store electrical energy as rotatioal kinetic energy by motor and to convert it to electrical energy by generator when it is necessary. The rotordynamic analysis should be performed with an adequate analytical model and equations of motion to identify the stable driving condition and the dynamic behavior. The critical speed and the unbalance response of superconducting magnetic bearings-flywheel system are studied in this paper. The analytical results show that the system has one forward whirling mode and two backward whirling models below 500rpm. The maximum displacement 0.75mm is detected at the first forward mode (385rpm)through unbalance response analysis. The analytical results are compared with the experimental result by the spin-down test. The experimental result shows that the maximum displacement is 0.7mm at 370rpm.

  • This study conducts numerical modeling and eigen-analysis of a rod-fastened rotor, which is mainly used in aircraft gas turbine engines in which multiple disks are in contact through curvic coupling. Nayak's theory is adopted to calculate surface parameters measured from the tooth profile of the curvic coupling gear. Surface parameters are important design parameters for predicting the stiffness between contact surfaces. Based on the calculated surface parameters, elastoplastic contact analysis is performed according to the interference between two surfaces based on the Greenwood-Williamson model. The equivalent bending stiffness is predicted based on the shape and elastoplastic contact stiffness of the curvic coupling. An equation of motion of the rod-fastened rotor, including the bending stiffness of the curvic coupling, is developed. Methods for applying the bending stiffness of a curvic coupling to the equation of motion and for modeling the equation of motion of a rotor that includes both inner and outer rotors are introduced. Rotordynamic analysis is performed through one-dimensional finite element analysis, and each element is modeled based on Timoshenko beam theory. Changes in bending stiffness and the resultant critical speed change in accordance with the rod fastening force are predicted, and the corresponding mode shapes are analyzed.

  • 정격속도 80,000 rpm 초고속 원심분리기(ultra-centrifuge)의 회전체동역학 설계가 수행된다. 설계목표는 충분한 위험속도(critical speed)의 분리여유(separation margin)와 함께, 다수의 고차 위험속도 통과시 원심분리기 로터의 위치에서 양호한 불균형응답특성을 갖는 로터-베어링 시스템의 최적구성을 이루어 내는 것이다. 후자의 특성은 불균형에 의해 가진될 때 로터의 질량중심이 회전축에 가능한 한 근접하도록 함으로써 만족시킬 수 있으며, 이를 위해 초유연축(extra slender shaft)이 적용된다. 이와 더불어, 특히 1차 위험속도에서 공진에 기인한 로터의 큰 변위를 방지하기 위해 범퍼링(bumper ring) 또는 안내베어링(guide bearing)의 설치가 필요하다. 유한요소법(finite element method)에 의한 회전체동역학 모델링이 수행되며, 지지 구름베어링의 강성과 함께 소량의 감쇠(damping)가 고려된다.

  • This paper describes a transfer matrix approach to analyze the dynamics of a high sped flexible rotor system supported at 2 positions by five ceramic bearings. The rotor system is modelled as lumped parameters in which many factors are considered not only lumped inertia or mass, bending moment, shear force but also gyroscopic effect and unbalance. The equation of motion is derived in the transfer matrix form, from which the eigenvalues equation is also derived. The transfer natural frequencies and modes. The eigenvalues, eigenmodes, campbell diagram, whirling critical speed, whirling modes, and the response of unbalance are calculated and discussed.

자동선반 기어박스의 진동방지 (Vibration Reduction or the Gear Box of an NC Machine)

  • This article proposes the analytical and experimental approaches for the reduction of vibration generated in the gear box of an NC machine. The lateral critical speed of main spindle and torsional natural frequencies were analyzed and the impact testing of gear box was performed. These results were compared with the forced operating speeds, The vibration was much diminished by redesign of gear module and reinforcement of box structure.

  • This research proposes a finite element method to determine the natural vibration characteristics of the spinning disk-spindle system in a HDD including the flexibility of supporting structure. Finite element equations of each substructure are derived with the introduction of consistent variables to satisfy the geometric compatibility at the internal boundaries. The natural frequencies and modes from the global asymmetric matrix equations of motion are determined by using the implicit restarted Arnoldi iteration method. The validity of the proposed method is verified by the experimental modal testing. It also shows that the flexibility of base plate plays an important role to determine the natural frequencies of the spinning disk-spindle system in a HDD.

  • 정격속도 100,000RPM용 원심분리기(centrifuge) 로터베어링계에 대해 회전체동역학 해석이 수행된다. 시스템은 원심분리기 로터, 유연축, 모터 로터와 축, 그리고 모터축 지지용 두 개의 구름베어링으로 구성된다. 설계목표는 정격속도가 위험속도(critical speed)에 대해 충분한 분리여유를 갖고, 위험속도에서 로터의 양호한 불균형응답특성을 이루어 내는 것이다. 후자의 요구조건은, 시스템이 다수의 위험속도를 통과하며 정격속도 주위에서 충분한 분리 여유를 갖지 않을 수도 있기 때문에 특히 중요하다. 시스템에 초유연축(extra-flexible shaft)을 도입함으로써, 비록 1차 위험속도에서 만족스럽지 못한 큰 불균형응답을 가질지라도 고차 위험속도에서 만족스런 작은 불균형응답을 보인다. 1차 위험속도에서 로터의 큰 변위를 억제하기 위해서 범퍼링(bumper ring) 또는 안내베어링(guide bearing)을 유연축의 적절한 위치에 설치할 필요가 있다. 비록 유연축계라 할지라도 정격속도와 가까운 4차 이상의 고차 위험속도를 정확히 규명하기 위해서는 모터의 동역학을 전체시스템에 결합하여야 함을 볼 수 있다. 해석은 유한요소법(finite element method)에 의해 수행된다.

  • A rotordynamic analysis was performed with a dry vacuum pump, which is a major equipment in modern semiconductor and LCD manufacturing processes. The system is composed of screw rotors, lobes picking air, helical gears, driving motor, and support rolling element hearings of rotors and motor. The driving motor-screw rotor system has a rated speed of 6,300rpm, and was modeled utilizing a rotordynamic FE method for analysis, which was verified through the results of its 3-D finite element model. As loadings on the bearings due to the gear action were significant in the system considered, each resultant bearing load was calculated determinately and indeterminately by considering the generalized forces of the gear action as veil as the rotor itself. Each resultant hearing loading was used in calculating each stiffness of rolling element bearings. Design goals are to achieve wide separation margins of critical speeds and favorable unbalance responses of the rotor in the operating range. Then, a complex rotordynamic analysis of the system was carried out to evaluate its forward synchronous critical speeds, whirl natural frequencies and mode shapes, and unbalance responses under various unbalance locations. Results show that the entire system is well designed in the operating range. In addition, the procedure of rotordynamic analysis for dry vacuum pump rotor-bearing system was proposed and established.
