Development of a Modified Exoskeletal Linkage Type Instrument for 3-D Motion Measurement of the Human Knee Joint (무릎관절의 3차원 회전량 측정을 위한 개선된 외골격 링크장치 형태의 측정기구 개발)

  • A new type of electrogoniometer to measure the three dimensional motion of the human knee joint was developed. This instrument is composed of six potentiometers: four arranged for two universal joints, one for pin joint, and one for axial rotation measurement. The voltage change in six potentiometers were collected through A/D converter for acquisition, storage and analysis. With a developed instrument, gait analysis was performed. Compared to earlier developed triaxial type goniometer, new instrument shows its convenience in application and accuracy in measurement.

Kinematic Modeling of Distal Radioulnar Joint for Human Forearm Rotation (인간의 전완 회전을 위한 원위 요척골 관절의 기구학적 모델링)

  • This paper presents the kinematic modeling of the human forearm rotation constructed with a spatial four-bar linkage. Especially, a circumduction of the distal ulna is modeled for a minimal displacement of the position of the hand during the forearm rotation from the supination to the pronation. To establish its model, four joint types of the four-bar linkage are, firstly, assigned with the reasonable grounds, and then the spatial linkage having the URUU (Universal-Revolute-Universal-Universal) joint type is proposed. Kinematic analysis is conducted to show the behavior of the distal radio-ulna as well as to evaluate the angular displacements of all the joints. From the simulation result, it is, finally, revealed that the URUU spatial linkage can be substituted for the URUR (Universal-Revolute-Universal-Revolute) spatial linkage by a kinematic constraint.

  • 다운엔더 개념설계요건 설정을 위해서 PWR $16{\times}16$ SF집합체 제원을 분석하였다. 또한 수직에서 수평으로 전환될 때 충격량을 최소화하기 위해서 모의집합체 충격실험을 수행하였다. 그 결과 수직에서 수평으로 회전되는 각속도(30초/$90^{\circ}$)를 고려할 때 평균값은 약 0.1 g, 최대 약 0.3 g 정도가 되어 거의 충격을 받지 않음을 알 수 있다. 주요 설계요건으로 그리이드(grid)에 가해지는 수평클램프(clamp) 힘은 240kg, 하부노즐에 가해지는 수직클램프 힘은 900kg 이내로 하였다. 다운엔더의 개념설계를 위해서 기구학적 특성을 반영하였고, 전환시간을 30초/$90^{\circ}$로 하였다. 원격 유지 보수성을 향상하기 위하여 Solid Works 프로그램 툴(tool)을 이용하여 5개의 주요 모듈을 구성하였고, SF 집합체 다운엔더 개념을 3D로 설계하였다.

  • Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) is a technique that delivers a high dose to a target legion and a low dose to a critical organ through only one or a few irradiations. For this purpose, many mathematical methods for optimization have been proposed. There are some limitations to using these methods: the long calculation time and difficulty in finding a unique solution due to different tumor shapes. In this study, many clinical target shapes were examined to find a typical pattern of tumor shapes from which some possible ideal geometrical shapes, such as spheres, cylinders, cones or a combination, are assumed to approximate real tumor shapes. Using the arrangement of multiple isocenters, optimum variables, such as isocenter positions or collimator size, were determined. A database was formed from these results. The optimization procedure consisted of the following steps: Any shape of tumor was first assumed to an ideal model through a geometry comparison algorithm, then optimum variables for ideal geometry chosen from the predetermined database, followed by a final adjustment of the optimum parameters using the real tumor shape. Although the result of applying the database to other patients was not superior to the result of optimization in each case, it can be acceptable as a plan starling point.

  • 최근 승용차의 급격한 수요증가와 더불어 차량의 승차감 개선에 많은 관심이 집중되면서, 저진동 저소음 차량에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 연구의 일부로서, 수치해석법 및 진동실험에 의하여 복잡한 전체 구조물을 해석할 경우, 계산기의 기억용량, 계산시간, 비용이 많이 들게 되고, 한번 해석을 행한 구조물을 부분적으로 변경할지라도 전체의 계산을 다시 수행해야만 한다. 그래서, 복잡한 전체 구조물을 몇 개의 부분구조물로 나누어, 분계의 특성에 맞게 각기 수치해석법이나 모달실험을 적용한 후, 다시 합성하는 방법이 제시되었는데, 이것이 부분구조합성법이다. 이 방법을 사용하면, 유한요소 모델링이 쉬운 분계와 실험이 쉬운 분계를 서로 구분하여 각기 해석한 후 합성함으로써, 각 분계의 특성에 맞는 효율적인 해석을 수행할 수가 있다. 지금까지의 연구를 살펴보면, 유한요소해석에 의한 모드합성법에서는 Hurty가 구속모드법을 제안한 이래, 불구속모드법, 주종계법 등 많은 연구가 있었으나, 실험모달해석을 병행할 경우에는 결합부에서의 회전자유도의 처리문제, 특성 행렬의 동정문제, 많은 절점으로부터 데이타를 얻어야 하는 등의 어려움이 있었다. 이러한 문제를 개선시켜서 Hermanski등은 회전자유도가 보간된 모드합성법(interpolated mode synthesis, IMS)을 연구하여, 적은 실험데이타만을 사용하면서 단순지지 보에 적용함으로써 타당성을 입증하였다. 한편, 차체는 복잡한 부분구조물들로 이루어져 있으므로, 본 연구에서는 유한요소모델링의 용이함, 실험의 간편성, 계산의 효율성등을 추구하며, 실험과 유한요소해석을 병행한 부분구조합성법을 차량의 BIW(body in white)에 적용하는 방법을 연구하게 되었다. 그 기본연구로서 실험과 유한요소해석을 병행하여 회전자유도를 보간하는 방법을 먼저 단순한 판구조물에 적용을 하고, 나아가 실제 BIW를 축소하여 자체 제작한 모형차에 적용시켜 보았다.물은 분계 A(16개의 사각요소)와 분계 B(8개의 사각요소)로 이루어져 있으며 두개의 스프링으로 결합되어 있다. 설계변수는 강성에 국한하였으며 결합부의 결합형태는 탄성결합과 강결합으로 하였다. 감도해석과 축소임피던스 합성법에 의해 구해진 고유진동수와 FRF를 상용 유한 요소 해석 패키지인 MSC/NASTRAN을 통하여 검증하여 이 연구의 타당성을 검토하였다.인풋기어에서의 회전수 변동을 측정하고, 이 실험 데이타를 기초로 하여 엔진 토크 및 변속기에서의 드래그 토크를 계산하여 엔진-변속기 인풋기어의 반한정계 2자유도 진동모델과 비틀림 특성을 가진 클러치 디스크의 프리댐퍼 영역에 대해 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 클러치 비틀림 기구의 설계인자인 비틀림 강성, 히스테리시스 토크에 따른 비틀림 진동 저감 효과를 연구하고자 한다.성을 확인하였다. 여기서는 실험실 수준의 평 판모델을 제작하고 실제 현장에서 이루어질 수 있는 진동제어 구조물에 대 한 동적실험 및 FRS를 수행하는 과정과 동일하게 따름으로써 실제 발생할 수 있는 오차나 error를 실험실내의 차원에서 파악하여 진동원을 있는 구조 물에 대한 진동제어기술을 보유하고자 한다. 이용한 해마의 부피측정은 해마경화증 환자의 진단에 있어 육안적인 MR 진단이 어려운 제한된 경우에만 실제적 도움을 줄 수 있는 보조적인 방법으로 생각된다.ofile whereas relaxivity at high field is not affected by τS.   • Analysis of elasto-dynamic deformation of flexible linkage mechanism is conducted using the finite element method. The equations of motion of the system are derived from the static structural problem in which dynamic inertia, gravitational and driving forces are treated as external loads. Linear spring model is included in the formulation of equation of motions to represent the effects of deformation of elastic bearings of revolute joints on the system behavior. A computer program is constructed and applied to analyze a specific crank-lever 4-bar mechanism. The algorithm of the program is as follows. First, the natural frequencies and the mode shapes of the system are calculated by solving the eigenproblem of the mechanism system which can be considered as a static structure by assuming the input shaft (crank shaft) to be fixed at any given configuration of mechanism. And finally, the elasto-dynamic deformation of the whole system is obtained using mode superposition method for the case of constant input speed. The effect of geometric stiffness on the mechamism is included in the program with the axial forces of links obtained through the quasi-static displacement analysis. It is found that the geometric stiffness exerts an important effect upon the elasto-dynamic behavior of the flexible linkage mechanism. Elastic deformation of bearing lowers the natural frequencies of the system, resulting smaller elastic displacement at the mid-point of the links and bigger elestic displacement at the ends of the links than rigid bearing. The above investigation of flexible linkage mechanism shows that the effects of the elastic deformation of bearing on the mechanism should be considered to design the mechanism which satisfies more preciously the purpose and the condition of design.

Traction Performance Improvement Study on a Small-scale Tower Yarder Attached to a Farm Tractor (농업용 트랙터 기반 소형 타워야더의 견인 성능 개선에 관한 연구)

  • In a cable yarding system, a small-scale tower yarder attached to a farm tractor wasdeveloped and used for small-diameter tree harvesting operations. Based on this design, improvement of traction performance was required for medium- and large-diameter tree harvesting operations. In this study, the mechanical transmission employed for the tower yarder was modified into ahydro-mechanical transmission system. Maximum traction forces, including tractor engine speed and hydraulic power pressure, were investigated, and comparisons were made between the mechanical and hydro-mechanical transmission systems. Six tractor engine speeds (1,200, 1,400, 1,600, 1,800, 2,000, and 2,200) and three levels of power transmission mechanism pressure (4.9, 6.9, and 8.8 MPa) were investigated in the two different transmission systems. Results showed a maximum traction force of 15,146.6 N at an engine rotation speed of 757 rpm in the current mechanical transmission system, and 36,140.0 N at anengine rotation speed of 1,575 rpm in the modified hydro-mechanical transmission system. The maximum traction forces for the hydro-mechanical transmission were 2.4 times greater than those of the mechanical transmission, and may therefore be applicable to medium and large-diameter tree harvesting operations. Thus,as a modified version of the conventional transmission system, the new hydro-mechanical transmission system may be cost-effective for use in large-scale cable yarding operations. In the future, however, it will be necessary to investigate problems that may arise from field application tests.

  • The contemporary two-jaw surgical approach usually involves a Le Fort osteotomy of the maxilla and a ramal osteotomy of the mandible with 3-dimensional repositioning of the jaws as well as the occlusal planes. After making the surgical treatment plan. the surgical movements are duplicated in the model surgery. During this procedure, reference poings and lines are drawn on the base of the models over the dental arch and sawcuts are mads according to these marked osteotomy lines. This technique, however, has been found to be inexact. especially when the laws are moved in several dimensions simultaneously. To overcome this. different methods have been developed for an accurate repositioning of the jaws as planned. A new appliance. Surgical Jaw Relater, has been devised by th8 author for the simple 3-dimensional relocation of the upper and lower models, resulting in the easy construction of the splints such as centric relation splint, intermediate and final splint. This article describes an introduction and a clinical application of this appliance. Through the application of this system to the orthognathic cases including two-law surgery. it is proved that the row device is very clinically useful.

An Experimental Study on the Propulsive Characteristics of Sculls (선미노(船尾櫓)의 추력발생기구(推力發生機構) 규명(糾明)을 위한 실험적(實驗的) 연구(硏究))

  • The geometrical characteristics of sculls which are in use for propulsion of Korean traditional row boats were briefly surveyed. A typical dimension of the scull was selected and prototype for test was prepared. Angular displacements and the force components at handle and pivoting point were measured when the scull was operated in moored condition by skilled fisherman. Time histories and trajectories of motion were analyzed with the force generated at the scull blade. It was found out that the thrust of the scull was generated mainly by reaction force. The direction of improvement for better rowing motion could be also suggested. Continued study on this topic in a self-propulsion condition will provide us another interesting informations and prepare a possibility of application in evaluating rowing motion of oar.

  • A long and light-weight forearm of the vertical 2 DOF robot manipulator with a heavy payload driven by parallel drive mechanism is modelled as a Euler-Bernoulli beam with a tip mass subjected to a high speed rotation. Governing equation is obtained by Hamilton's principle and represented as state variable form using the perturbed variables which describe the perturbed errors at the manipulator's final configuration. Digitial optimal control and observer theory are used to suppress the forearm vibration and control the positions of the joint angles with measured/estimated state feedback. Computer simulations and experimental results are obtained and compared each other.
