In this paper, a primitive study of yacht is carried out and an attempt to design a typical yacht is pursuited. General characteristics and types of a yacht is examined and the 1st step to design process is outlined. A model ship of an environmental adaptive yacht is presented and principal dimensions of the yacht is decided.

When we make a place for people, interior space and exterior space are always connected, each influencing the other. To create a better space or increase the quality of an existing space, it is essential to look at the relationship of inside and outside and their boundaries. Without consideration of the landscape, the building itself gives only limited satisfaction to people. This is an important issue for anyone who deals with space. This study intends to explain the important need for a change in attitude towards our built environment and its intrinsic relationship with its natural context. In the study, I try to find design concepts for integration of inside and outside which have accumulated since early Modernism designers and consider cases with different solutions and approaches that make total design sense when looking at the inside and outside as a whole, then, through observation of the cases, I find 5 design methods(Opening, Continuing, Insulting, Wrapping, Interpreting) in connecting the two spaces and analyze the solutions. The various examples which are shown in each patterns will help us to find ideas for the best solutions of integration of inside and outside. It is true that the idea of integration of inside and outside will increase the quality of our environment and it comes with the current thoughts of ecological and sustainable design. Thereby, I suggest designers to change their manner to continuous and integrated point of view in dealing with built environment.

Housing environment for human beings has been diversified and more convenient due to the development of high technology and civilization brought by industrialization in the 20th century. In the 21st century, how to overcome the ecological limit of biased development-centered advancement, that is, how to preserve and hand over a clean and healthy 'sustainable environment' to our next generations has been one of the most-talked about issues. Environmental symbiosis means a wider range of environmental harmony from micro-dimensional perspective to macro one. The three goals of a environmentally friendly house are to preserve global environment, to harmonize with the environment around, and to offer a healthy and comfortable living environment. From the point of view of environmental symbiosis, houses should be designed to save energy and natural resources for preservation of global environment, to collect such natural energy resources as solar heat and wind force, to recycle waste water, and recycle and reduce the amount of the waste matter. Now, the environmentally-friendly house became a new social mission that is difficult to not only challenge but also realize without conversion to a new paradigm, ecologism.

The purpose of this study was to lay out child-friendly planning guidelines for environments in a bid to create residential environments geared toward backing up children's life. Earlier studies were reviewed to make a literature analysis to find out existing planning guidelines for environments, and small-group workshop was held to formulate down-to-earth planning guidelines. And a survey was conducted on the parents of selected children to assess the importance of the selected planning guidelines. The findings of the study were as follows: First, residential environments were categorized into housing spaces and outdoor playing spaces, and 25 and 28 planning guidelines for each field were prepared respectively. When a survey was implemented, all the 53 planning guidelines were rated as important or very important. Second, the guidelines for safety were considered very important, and the importance of the planning guidelines varied with children's age. The findings of the study suggest that the development of more reinforced criteria for children's safety is required to create child-friendly residential environments.

This research considered the city design and public arts theory. As a result, planning ability lacks in the existing mural arts. It were discovered to not coincide with the demands of time. This research attempted practical approach by expanding to public spaces rather than being limited to artistic section. For one of the case, the mural of Jurye Girl's Middle School located in Busan was selected. As a result, the mural that included culture discovered that mural matches well with city's public environment. We conducted survey. 107 participants was randomly selected as students and neighbors in Jure girl's middle school. The results of it reveals that environmentally friendly tendency and cultural implication are relatively higher than others. Mural arts have been focused as space where people live along with the progress of civilization and development of our society. It is important how the relationship between modern public environment space and mural arts shall harmonize. This research proposes social values that can replace the special mood by adding vitalization and liveliness to public environment through various mural contents.

This article summarizes the importance, definition, key strategies and future directions of sustainable packaging design.In modern society, sustainable packaging design is not only concerned with environmental protection and resource conservation, but also involves economic, social and cultural sustainable development.This paper explores strategies to reduce environmental burden and promote ecological balance by using environmentally friendly materials, optimizing packaging design, improving packaging recyclability and reuse. In addition, the article emphasizes the importance of design innovation, such as adopting a simplified design concept and modular system, as well as increasing the versatility of packaging.It also explores the application of life cycle assessment in packaging design to ensure that every step from design to disposal minimizes environmental impact. Finally, despite the environmental and social benefits that sustainable packaging design brings, it still faces technical, economic and regulatory challenges in practice.Future design will require interdisciplinary collaboration, integration of advanced technologies, consumer education and engagement, and enhanced policy and standard-setting to promote widespread adoption and practice of sustainable packaging.

The purpose of this study is to analyze minimalism in the environment-friendly aspect and to suggest methodology of environment-friendly fashion design. The results of this study are as follows. First, it is possible to create newly fashion-designed goods by re-arranging used goods. This method is environment-friendly, in that it recycles resources and simplifies production process. It can also meet the sense of beauty of consumers by reviving the intrinsic beauty of the used goods. Second, When we produce brand new fashion-designed goods with used goods as raw materials, the new ones reflect specific characters of the used goods which originate from their own times and regions. In this way, this method can be a fashion design which accommodate multi-cultural trends. Third, it is possible to produce goods designed by inspiration from a human body. This fashion-design method includes several ways, such as usage of human body silhouette, composition of colors using natural dyeing, and usage of natural materials. Recognizing a human being as a creature interacting with the nature can broaden range of imagination in design methodology.

지구 온난화 현상에 따른 기온 상승과 환경오염으로 인하여 생태계의 예상치 못한 변화는 여름철은 물로 겨울철에도 모기의 발생과 전염병이 증가하고 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 다양한 해충박멸을 위한 제품들이 출시되고 있는데 환경 파괴 등 여러 문제점들이 대두되고 있어 환경오염을 방지하기 위한 해충 퇴치를 할 수 있는 제품개발이 필요하다. 본 연구는 환풍기를 이용해 해충의 습성(색 구분, 후각, 청각, 촉각)을 파악한 후 해충이 좋아하는 빛으로 유인하여 해충을 환기와 동시에 밖으로 배출해내는 환경 친화적인 제품에 관한 연구이다. 이론적 고찰을 통하여 해충이 좋아하는 요소를 파악한 수 가장 효과적으로 해충을 퇴치할 수 있는 환풍기의 구조, 풍량, 빛의 밝기 등의 유인요소를 실험을 통해 검증하여 이 결과를 이용하여 실제 디자인을 실행한다.

The demand for an environment-friendly transportation system, equipped with low energy consumption, and low-or zero-pollution has been on the increase since the beginning of the World Trade Organization era. Simultaneously, the consistent growth of high-speed tram technology, combined with market share, has sparked a fierce competition among technologically-advanced countries like France, Germany, and Japan in an effort to keep the lead in high-speed train technology via extensive Research and development(R＆D) expenses. These countries are leaders in the race to implement the next-generation transportation system, build intercontinental rail way networks and export the high-speed train as a major industry commodity. The need to develop our own(Korean) 'high-speed train' technology and its core system technology layouts including original technology serves a few objectives: They boost the national competitive edge; they develop an environmental friendly rail road system that can cope with globalization and minimize the social and economic losses created by the growing traffic-congested delivery costs, environment pollution, and public discomforts. In turn, the 'G7 Project-Development of High Speed Railway Technology' held between 1996 and 2002 for a six-year period was focused on designing a domestic train capable of traveling at a speed of 350km/h combined and led to the actual implementation of engineering and producing the '2000 high-speed train:' This paper summarizes and introduces one of the G7 Projects-specifically, the design segment achievement within the development of train system engineering technology. It is true that the design aspect of the Korean domestic railway system program as a whole was lacking when compared with the advanced railroad countries whose early phase of train design emphasized the design aspect. However, having allowed the active participation of expert designers in the early phase of train design in the current project has led to a new era of domestic train development and the implementation of a way to meet demand flexibly with newly designed trains. The idea of a high-speed train in Korea and its design concept is well-conceived: a faster, more pleasant, and silent based Korean high-speed train that facilitates a new travel culture. A Korean-type of high-speed train is acknowledged by passengers who travel in such trains. The Korean high-speed prototype train has been born, combining aerodynamic air-cushioned design, which is the embodiment of Korean original design of forehead of power car minimized aerodynamic resistance using a curved car body profile, and the improvement of the interior design with ergonomics and the accommodation of the vestibule area through the study of passenger behavior and social culture that is based on the general passenger car.
