As the environmental paradigm is the major issue today, the guideline of the ecological design in the interior architectural field is needed. One on the knowledge necessary to plan the ecological interior architecture as a designer is the spectification related factors for planning, which should be applied in materialistic matters. In this paper, the knowledge of materials and products needed to design interior space considering the ecological factors is studied. And, a guideline for the eco-design is investigated for the expression of the environmentally friendly perception.

The study examined how age-friendly their living environments the aged perceived and it's significant difference depending on their characteristics. The subject were 96 old persons who aged more than 60 years and lived in Nagasaki city, Japan. They asked how far each neighborhood facility related to the aged was located from their houses, and the age-friendliness of walk way, traffic, multi-family houses for the aged, and interior space of their living houses. Data were collected by using one to one interview. Results were as follows: 1) Most neighborhood facilities related to the aged were located within a walking distance or 10 min. distance by bus from their houses. 2) Among 5 areas of living environments, while traffic, house interior, and pedestrians road were relatively age-friendly, the amount of multi-unit dwellings for the elderly and the usability of wheelchair users in house interior were not age-friendly. 3) Age and education level of the aged influenced on the age-friendliness of their living environments.

The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics and concepts behind Design for Environment(DfE) and Environmental Management System(EMS). This study highlights the success of domestics and foreign corporations that have utilized DfE and EMS as well as explored how DfT based EMS is being used in domestic corporations. Although corporations acknowledge that using environmentally conscious designs provide them with a competitive edge, only 53.6% of fashion corporations have established the environmental policies and use such tools. Furthermore, only 41% use DfE strategies for operating their corporations.

Environment friendly architecture, which will reduce shortcomings of current architectural culture, can be achieved by using natural energy and environment friendly building materials together with their environmental architecture techniques. Particularly, even though the overall building system is perfect, it cannot be considered as comfortable architectural space if the materials are polluted, harmful to human bodies and producing wastes. Therefore, in order to build environment friendly architecture, the selection of the materials is very important and necessary from the planning stage with careful reviews and concern. This study tries to define what the environment friendly materials we, to investigate and to classify them, in order to provide some guidelines for selecting them at plans to build. For examples, the materials can be classified into natural materials, continuously usable materials, recycled materials from wastes, and less polluting materials mixed with natural materials. Finally, this study reviews the existing products in the market and proposes to develop new ones in the future. It will present the circulation of resources in the 21century through recycled and reused materials.

The study aims at looking, into conceptual transfer of environment between Minimal Art and Minimalism architecture and analysing architectural expressional characteristics which could visually show pro-environmental expression from concept of environment-orientation in the architecture in regional minimalism. This study issued the survey of Minimalism architecture as newly architectural trend since Late-Modernism, and pro-environment as important paradigm in the near future. In this analyses, the characteristics of pro-environmental expression can be classified as follow ; a the brightness and darkness of light, b. the perspective view of simplified wall, c. the visualization of environmental characteristics, d. the transparency and reflectiveness of glass, e. the all direction of cube, f. the visual division of architecture. These show that symbolized variety implying expression variety and implying Oriental view of nature were expressed as unique language of regional Minimalism architecture, by visual simplicity as characteristics of Minimalism and Occidental Modernism as motive of Minimalism.

The design trend is changed with the times. The design trend of recent 21 century is eco-friendly design. The optical illusion design is a new trend of digital convergence era. In this study, optical illusion patterns were designed for furniture with eco-friendly UV-curable resin. The micro-patterns of optical illusion design were fabricated with the micro-mold which was mastered using a semiconductor micro-fabrication process by photolithography technique. The micro-patterns of optical illusion design were manufactured on PET film with a roll-to-roll process using a UV-curable resin. The manufactured PET film of optical illusion micro-pattern exhibits hologram effect, optical illusion effect, and texture of metal with the backside digital printing of metal tone. The furniture of new design concept so-called emotional furniture was manufactured with the various optical illusion design patterns. The optical illusion design patterns by UV mold prospect a new trend of interior design materials.

수분산 폴리우레탄 수지는 기능성이 뛰어나고 다양한 용도로 쓰임이 많기 때문에, 용제형 폴리우레탄 수지를 이용한 환경문제에 대처할 수 있는 대안으로 그 쓰임이 점차 늘어나고 있다. 그러나 수분산 폴리우레탄 수지는 용제형 폴리우레탄 수지에 비해 물리적 특성이 떨어지는 단점이 있다. 그래서 우수한 물리적 특성을 유지하면서 용제형 폴리우레탄 수지를 대체할 수 있는 환경친화성 폴리우레탄 수지에 대한 연구가 많이 이뤄지고 있다. 최근 산업환경 변화에 순응하는 환경 친화적 소재를 사용하여 자동차, 선박, 철도 등 수송용 인테리어 내장재를 구성하는 기술로서, 난연성 및 기계적 물성 유지 기술, 그리고 실내 쾌적감을 부여하기 위한 감성기술 및 심미적 요소를 부여하는 디자인 기술이 가미된 복합 기능화 기술개발이 요구되고 있다. 기존의 자동차용 시트 제품의 대부분은 습식 PU와 PVC를 사용하고 있고, 제조과정에서 용제와 가소제 사용 등으로 인해 환경적으로 많은 문제점이 있으며, 이를 대체하기 위한 노력이 많은 부분에서 이루어지고 있지만, 마땅히 대체할 소재를 찾지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 Frothing 기법을 이용한 친환경 foam 제조기술은 기존의 습식 PU foam과 PVC foam을 대체할 수 있는 기술로서, PUD foam의 기계적 물성 및 가공성이 보완된다면 상업적 용도로 많은 분야에서 활용될 것으로 판단된다.

The coast area of our country has various tourist attraction factors of its own such as plenty of islands, uncontaminated waters and so on. Nevertheless, sea tourism and leisure facilities have not been developed enough since the national tourist/leisure policies have mainly been focused on the land tourism so far. Recently, the lake and sea areas are becoming more an more popular to people for spending their leisure times, and they, especially the young generations, are eagerly searching for some good ocean spots to enjoy the dynamics maritime sports. In this paper, we worked on the first design phase of environmentally and visually adaptive yacht, taking the cost effectiveness and the safety factors into account as well.
