The Environmental-Friendly Clothing Consumption Behavior of Middle and High School Students in Seoul (서울지역 중.고등학생의 환경친화적 의복 소비행동)

  • The goal of this research is to determine the variables which influence adolescents' environmental-friendly clothing consumption behaviors. A questionnaire was prepared to survey 768 students in 8 different middle and high schools throughout Seoul. The results of the studies are as follows; First, the experiences in environmental activities were higher than the average. Second, the level of environmental-friendly values was found to be higher than the average. Among the values, environmental-preservation scored the highest, whereas selfishness scored the lowest. Third, adolescents have the strongest desire to express their individuality by means of clothing, which includes comfortableness, price, fashion, and brand. Fourth, the environmental-friendly clothing consumption awareness was average. In this field's subcategory, disposal awareness was above the average. But when buying clothes, the awareness of environmental problems was lower than the common level. Fifth, adolescents were lower in environmental-friendly clothing consumption behavior than the common level. In the subcategory, using behavior and disposal behavior were on the average, but buying behavior was executed in an anti-eco-friendly manner. Sixth, adolescents' price pursuit and clothing disposal consciousness were important factors of environmental-friendly clothing consumption behavior.

The Analysis of Eco-friendly Values and Related Variables of the Elderly (노인의 환경친화적 가치관과 관련변인분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the eco-friendly values of the elderly. Specific objectives of this study were 1) to survey the eco-friendly levels of the elderly, 2) to find out related variables of the eco-friendly values of the elderly 3) to suggest to develop the eco-friendly values of the elderly for volunteer activity of environmental problem solutions. Two hundred eight elderly persons in the region of Cheong-ju(Chung-cheong Buk Do) were selected, and questionnaire was utilized for collecting data. The results were as follows: The eco-friendly levels of the elderly were relatively high and differed significantly according to educational level, health status, religion, participating volunteer activity and life satisfaction. The significant independent variables influencing the eco-friendly values of the elderly were educational level, health status, religion, participating volunteer activity, and life satisfaction. Based on the results of this study, voluntarism of the elderly provides the solution of environmental problem and life satisfaction, self development for the elderly.

  • 경제적인 풍요가 어느정도 이루어지면서 깨끗한 도시환경속에서 삶을 누리고자 하는 욕구도 증가되었다. 이를 반영하듯이 최근들어 환경에 대한 시민들의 관심이 어느때 보다 더욱 커져만 가고 있다. 이와 더불어 도시계획적 흐름도 물적계획에서 비물적계획인 인간중심 위주의 가치관으로 전환되고 있으며, 공원녹지체계의 정립, 도시경관관리방안, 자전거도로의 도입, 보행자도로의 계획과 설계, 대중교통의 활성화 등 많은 환경친화적 프로젝트들이 수행되어져 왔다. 본 연구에서도 기존의 주요 보행자공간으로 다루어져 온 보도공간에 대하여 조사연구하였으며, 도심의 외곽에 위치하고는 있지만 대구시의 남북을 관통하는 주요간선도로변에 접해 있고 보행량에 비해 보도가 지나치게 넓어 비효율적인 토지이용을 보이는 보도공간을 대상으로 하였다. 특히 도심의 외곽지 보도에 관한 연구는 통행량이 많은 도심지의 상업지나 주택지의 보도에 밀려 상대적으로 소홀히 다루어져 왔다. 이 가운데 대표성과 보편성을 가지는 곳으로 선정하여 연구를 수행한 결과 기존의 단순목적 보도공간을 4개의 공간 즉 보행자공간, 자전거도로공간, 차단 및 가로시설공간, 녹지 및 편익공간으로 재구성하였다. 이는 적은 비용과 노력으로 보행의 순기능인 쾌적성과 안전성을 보다 강화시켜나갈 수 있었다. 매연과 소음이 없고 도시민의 건강성를 확보한다는 이유로 여러 선진국에서는 수 년전부터 각광을 받고 있는 것이 보행교통과 자전거교통의 개념인 녹색교통이다. 이러한 녹색교통은 공해감소의 편익도 있지만 무엇보다 매력적인 도시환경의 창출과 인간중심적이라는 가치관에 그 의의가 있겠다.

  • Recently as people's values are changing from development into quality of life, the needs of environmentally friendly construction are gradually increasing, also popular discontent about the construction pollution such as the noise and vibration cause by construction machinery is increasing. Even though it is impossible to eliminate construction pollution fully, it is necessary to make efforts to reduce construction pollution to a minimum. The first step solving these matters is that the necessary sum of expense must be secured as the environmental budgeting method regarding Environmental management costs. To provide an efficient budgeting method, a interview with the person in charge of environment management was conducted. and the environmental management costs were analyzed through the historical data.

  • It is important to understand consumer attitudes associated with their eco-friendly behavior on account of not only environmental reasons, but also corporate aspects. In this study, we examine the relations between variables influencing eco-friendly attitudes and eco-friendly behavioral intentions, namely, recycling, reusing, and reducing (3R). We first, performed a theoretical consideration through reviews of literature on ethical identity, ethical obligation, altruism, and eco-friendly attitudes, and behavioral intentions. Based on the literature review, we designed a study model and drew hypotheses. Further, we collected data using a survey and processed them statistically in order to verify the hypotheses. A total of 265 samples were collected and the data were analyzed using a structural equation model (-LISREL 8.70). The results suggest that ethical identity and altruism significantly influence environmental attitudes. However, the effects of ethical obligations on eco-friendly attitudes are insignificant. The environmental attitudes have a significant effects on the consumer behavioral intention for recycling, reusing, and reducing. Although this study has some limitations, it is expected that it will positively trigger follow-up research.

  • Design takes concrete form from the things which are not yet exist to the molded reality. Creation of value which is accompanied by the rational value could be possible only through the searching examination of the basic concept. All designs are under circumstances because the results and the character of the problems are different under the given conditions and circumstances which are the characteristic of the design. The aim of this study is searching for the differential design conce- pt which is the most appropriate and reasonable in the basic design process in which the phase of the analysis, synthesis and evaluation of the problem. First of all the pursuit value of the times and the change of the view point of value of the product design. How the pursuit value of times were searched and analyzed. Analyze the successful product design realization of the typical trend of the modern design which are 3-2. function-focused design, 3-3. emotion-centered design, 3-4. image communicative design through the metaphor, 3-5. environmental affinity design. On the base of the case analysis how to apply the differential design concept which is coming as a trend in the future society which are sustainable developing society was examined closely. The outcome through the analysis of the success cases are as follows, \circled1 the value of the spirit of the times should be emphasized as the design image, \circled2 environmental appropriateness should be taken into consideration as the first primary factor, \circled3 the realization of value of the fulfillment of differential consumer's needs, \circled4 lead to prolong the life cycle of the product, \circled5 promote the sustaining growth of enterprise, \circled6 user-centered product value should be the first consideration. \circled7 It is necessary to overcome the cultural andinguistic barriers and to reflect the metaphor which people remember well. \circled8 The application of human's true character should be decided beforehand. It is the commonness of values of times and customs. \circled9 The differentiated design concept which meets our mental satisfaction, not material one, will be required. In addition to this the creative and differentiated design concepts which are accompanied by the good design factor under the base of product could achieve the emotional consensus from the consumers. The Effect of Environment-friendly Consumption Consciousness, Consumption Behavior and Consumption Value of Adolescents on Attitude of School Uniform Recycling (청소년의 친환경 소비의식, 소비행동, 소비가치가 교복 재활용 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • School uniform recycling has gained increasing attention as one of the solutions for environmental problems and improvement of home economics. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of environment-friendly consumption consciousness, consumption behavior, and consumption value on attitude of school uniform recycling in adolescents. Using self-completion questionnaire, environment-friendly consumption consciousness, consumption behavior, and consumption value were examined in 426 middle- and high school female students in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. The results are as follows; first, although more than 60% students showed positive attitude for purchasing recycled school uniform, respondents have rarely been purchasing recycled school uniform. Second, environment-friendly consumption consciousness, consumption behavior, and consumption value of students had the significant effect on the attitude of school uniform recycling. Our results suggest that more efforts should be focused on the education of environment-friendly consumption consciousness and consumption behavior.

Changes of Housing in the FCS Curricular from the 1st to 2009 Revised of Secondary School (중등학교 가정과 교육과정의 주생활 영역 내용 변화 - 1차 교육과정부터 2009 개정 교육과정을 대상으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the contents of housing related to characters, objectives, and contents of FCS curricular from the 1st to 2009 revised curriculum of secondary school. The data were downloaded from the NCIC homepage(http://www.ncic.re.kr/2012. 04. 08) from the 1st(1955. 08) to 2009 revised curriculum(2012. 03) of secondary school. After examining the characters and objectives of each curriculum, contents of housing was analyzed by units and context elements of middle and high school separately. The titles of the subject, the objectives, the instructions, the leaning spheres, weekly hours, grade and gender of candidates, the emphasis of the instruction, etc. have been changed through the curriculum revision. The 6th curriculum was the main period to open to both genders, the $7^{th}$ was the period to combine with technology, the 2007 version was to change the structure of contents of home economics, and the 2009 version switched technology home economics from mandatory to optional in high school. The character of the courses was presented at the 1st curriculum, but it was left out from the $2^{nd}$ to $5^{th}$ curriculum. From the $6^{th}$ curriculum, the characters were separately given to middle and high school. The character of housing area started to appear only in high school home economics from the $7^{th}$ curriculum. The course objectives were described in all curriculum of both middle and high school. This applies to housing area as well. The course objectives have been modified in order to reflect value changes due to social issues. During each curriculum, contents of housing continued to change in context, course load, and candidates. Reflection of housing trends and social needs were the main causes of the change. 2009 version emphasizes on eco-life and sense of community.
