This study was conducted to investigate the responses of red pepper (Hongjinju) leaves under water stress. Hyperspectral short wave infrared (SWIR, 1000~1800 nm) reflectance imaging techniques were used to acquire the spectral images for the red pepper leaves with and without water stress. The acquired spectral data were analyzed with a multivariate analysis method of ANOVA (analysis of variance). The ANOVA model suggested that 1449 nm wavebands was the most effective to determine the stress responses of the red pepper leaves exposed to the water deficiency. The waveband of 1449 nm was closely related to the water absorption band. The processed spectral image of 1449 nm could separate the non-stress, moderate stress (-20 kPa), and severe stress (-50 kPa) groups of red pepper leaves distinctively. Results demonstrated that hyperspectral imaging technique can be applied to monitoring the stress responses of red pepper leaves which are an indicator of physiological and biochemical changes under water deficiency.

High salinity is a common stress condition that adversely affects plant growth and crop production. In response to various environmental stresses, plants activate a number of defense genes that function to increase the tolerance. To isolate Arabidopsis genes that are involved in abiotic stress responses, we carried out genetic screening using various mutant lines. Among them, the blh8 ($\b{B}$EL1-$\b{L}$ike $\b{H}$omeodomain $\underline{8}$) mutant specifically shows chlorotic phenotypes to ionic (specifically, $Na^+$ and $K^+$) stresses, but no differences in root growth. In addition, BLH8 is related to plant development and abiotic stress as predicted by a Graphical Gaussian Model (GGM) network program. It implies that BLH8 functions as a putative transcription factor related to abiotic stress responses. Collectively, our results show that gene network analysis is a useful tool for isolating genes involved in stress adaptation in plants.
This study was carried out to analyze the mediating effect of self-soothing ability in the relationship of job environment stress and psychological burnout of youth counselors. To achieve the study purpose, a survey was executed on 150 counselors who gathered for a academic meeting held at Korea National University of Education with the theme of youth counseling on May 5, 2015. The participants included nation-wide counselors working at public agencies, schools, university and colleges, and private counseling offices. Analysis was executed for 113 questionnaires found valid with SPSS v.20, and study findings are as follows: first, career and working conditions youth counselors showed no difference in job environment stress between groups; second, 'lack of challenge' and 'role ambiguity' were found to affect psychological burnout; third, 'resilience' and 'self-disclosure' were found to affect psychological burnout; fourth, self-soothing ability was shown to have a mediating effect in the relationship between job environment stress and psychological burnout of youth counselors. This result will contribute to helping develop programs to cope with stress faced by both experienced youth counselors and counselors in general.
Oxidative stress is a major damaging factor for plants exposed to environmental stresses. In order to develop transgenic rice plants with enhanced tolerance to various environmental stresses, PsAPX1, the gene of ascorbate peroxidase isolated from Pisum sativum was expressed in chloroplast under the control of an oxidative stress inducible sweet potato peroxidase2 (SWPA2) promoter (referred to as PsAPX1 plants). PsAPX1 transgenic plants showed enhanced tolerance to various environmental stresses, such as 170 mM NaCl, UV-B, ozone, 20% PEG, and drought in compared with non-transgenic (NT) plants. These results suggest that chloroplast-targeted over-expression of PsAPX1 gene could be very useful strategy for developing transgenic rice plants with increased tolerance to environmental stresses.
This study seeks to dertermine the influence and mediating effect of work environments among counselors at National Protection Agencies for Elderly(NPAE), who are conducting elderly abuse prevention service when domestic and facility abuse is augmenting due to social distancing as a result of COVID-19, on turnover intention. This study ultimately applied the analysis of 290 replies to surveys that were distributed to 306 workers at a total of 34 National Protection Agencies for Elderly(NPAE). The nationwide investigation was carrid out from 1st July until 30th July, 2020. SPSS 23.0 was used for the analysis and the Sobel-Test was conducted to verify the multiple regression analysis and significance. This was for the confirmation of descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and mediation effect so that the influence and relationships of variables could be verified. The results are as follows. First the job stress of counselors in the NPAE had a positive effect on turnover intention. Second, the work environment of the NPAE was found to have a negative influence on turnover intention. Third, the work environment played a significant partially mediating role in the relation between the job stress and turnover intention among the counselors. Based on such research results, policy and practical implications to reduce the stress, improve the work environment and reduce turnover of counselors in the NPAE were presented.
Department of radiology implements the hospital-based clinical training to accept medical treatment techniques and to adapt experiences for students. However, it might cause negative effects to training education, leading to doubt about major and pressure about training as lots of students experience clinical treatment and complex stress in unfamiliar environment. Regarding this, pressure element that students can experience and diverse variables of training were compared and analyzed. With students in department of radiology for 6 colleges and universities, from September 15th to October 25th in 2011. The degree of stress for students in training was shown high in the fields of cost(3.06) and trainers(3.02). Value and ideal(2.94), role and experiment(2.93), training environment(2.74) and relationships among trainees(2.64) were followed in the order. Except expense regarding stress from clinical training, but in all factors, women showed higher pressure level than men(P<.05) and in stress range according to BEPSI-K, a meaningful difference was shown in fields of training environment, relationships among trainees and role and experiment(P<.01, P<.001, P<.05). Therefore, It has been confirmed that there is correlation between stress of students and satisfaction for clinical training with each other closely.

Oxidative stress derived from reactive oxygen species (ROS) is one of the major damaging factors in plants exposed to environmental stress. In order to develop the platform technology to solve the global food and environmental problems in the 21st century, we focus on the understanding of the antioxidative mechanism in plant cells, the development of oxidative stress-inducible antioxidant genes, and the development of transgenic plants with enhanced tolerance to stress. In this report, we describe our recent results on industrial transgenic plants by the gene manipulation of antioxidant enzymes. Transgenic tobacco plants expressing both superoxide dismutase (SOD) and ascorbate peroxidase (APX) in chloroplasts were developed and were evaluated their protection effects against stresses, suggesting that simultaneous overexpression of both SOD and APX in chloroplasts has synergistic effects to overcome the oxidative stress under unfavorable environments. Transgenic tobacco plants expressing a human dehydroascorbate reductase gene in chloroplasts were showed the protection against the oxidative stress in plants. Transgenic cucumber plants expressing high level of SOD in fruits were successfully generated to use the functional cosmetic purpose as a plant bioreactor. In addition, we developed a strong oxidative stress-inducible peroxidase promoter, SWPA2 from sweetpotato (Ipomoea batatas). We anticipate that SWPA2 promoter will be biotechnologically useful for the development of transgenic plants with enhanced tolerance to environmental stress and particularly transgenic cell lines engineered to produce key pharmaceutical proteins.

The purpose of the study was to carry out research on the work-related stress of child care teachers in employer-supported child care centers. Four-experienced child care teachers were designated for this research, and then data were collected through narrative research. In this study, work-related stress of child care teachers in employer-supported child care centers was found to be of the following types, "laborious oneself caused by the prolonged working environment", "fears about non-permanent employment status", and "a huge mountain named parents work". Research findings were discussed in term of the implication of understanding teacher' work-related stress.
