원발성 식도 악성 흑색종 -1례 보고- (Primary Malignant Melanoma of the Esophagus - a case report -)

  • 식도의 원발성 악성 흑색종은 매우 드문 종양성 질환으로 전세계적으로 약 200례가 보고되어 있다. 저자들은 식도 악성 흑색종의 외과적 치험 1례를 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하였다. 종양은 호두알 크기의 타원형으로 중부 식도에 위치하고 있었으며, 식도-위 경계부위에 2개의 위성병변이 있었다. 종양은 조직학적 검사와 면역조직학적 검사에 의하여 식도원발의 악성 흑색종으로 확진되었다. 개흉적 식도아전절제와 2영역 림프절적출로 근치적 수술을 하였으나, 수술 7개월후 원격전이 재발이 확인되었으며 면역요법에 뚜렷한 효과를 보이지 않고 있다.

추출조건에 따른 호두외피추출물의 특성 (Properties of Black Walnut hull Extracts with Extractive Conditions)

  • Walnut hull is a by-product from the Walnut tree, used as natural dyestuff from ancient times. This study was done to examine the effects of extractive conditions on the properties of walnut hull extracts for making efficient use of the walnut hull as a natural colorant. Aqueous extracts of walnut hull were prepared at various extractive concentration, temperature and time. Then they were characterized using UV-Vis. Spectrophotometer, FT-IR Spectrometer, Prep Liquid Chromatography, and Energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer. The aqueous extracts have two absorbency peaks of UV-Vis. Spectrum, shoulder type peak in the range of 270-280 nm and broad type band around 420 nm. Intensity of absorbency is increased with increase of extraction concentration and time. However, Boiling temperature extraction method showed the most efficiency of all. Intensity of absorbency is also affected by extraction pH. The Prep LC examined two kinds of isolated colorant with different molecular weight. FT-IR spectra of hull extracts showed an absorption band around $3400cm^{-1}$, the peaks at $1700-1600cm^{-1}$, which are characteristic of aromatic compounds with unsaturated ketone and benzene ring. It showed that the extraction contained some mineral ions, such as K, Ca, Si, Mg.

  • Ui-Gum-Bu(義禁府) is regarded as a key organization that reflects the power of the royal authority, mainly because it directly obeys the king's command and retains the power to punish or pardon government officials for severe crimes such as treason or significant breach of Confucian ethics. For this reason, Ui-Gum-Bu held a higher place in the organizational hierarchy of the government than other similar offices such as Hyung-Jo(刑曹), Sa-Heon-Bu(司憲府) and P o-Do-Cheong(捕盜廳). This characteristic of Ui-Gum-Bu is also evident in the architectural style and composition of the office building. The figures of the Ui-Gum-Bu office is depicted in detail in the paintings listed in 『Gum-Oh-Gye-Cheop(金吾契帖』, a record of Ui-Gum-Bu office meetings, and descriptions in the code book 『Gum-Oh-Hun-Rog(金吾契帖)』, both written in 18th century. The purpose of this study is to reveal the overall transition process of the Ui-Gum-Bu office building from the beginning until its demolition in the early 20th century. Based on research materials of 18th century, its architectural composition and characteristics will be dealt in detail.

호두인 에탄올 추출물의 사고화탄소 유도 간섬유화 억제 효과 (Inhibitory effects of the Juglans sinensis Walnut Ethanol Extract on Carbon Tetrachloride-induced hepatic fibrosis in Rats)

  • The inhibitory effects of the Juglans sinensis walnut ethanol extract (JSWE) on carbon tetrachloide (CCl₄)-induced fibrosis, serum transaminases (GOT and GTP), hepatic glutathione (GSH), serum pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β and IL-6) were investigated in rats. JSWE significantly inhibited on CCl₄-induced fibrosis in dose-dependent manner. Moreover, JSWE significantly inhibited on the serum levels of GOT, GTP, IL-1β, and IL-6 in dose-dependent manner in CCl₄-induced fibrosis rat. However, JSWE markedly increased the production of hepatic GSH in a dose-dependent manner. These results show that JSWE may explain some known biological activities of Juglans sinensis walnut including their anti-fibrotic and anti-inflammatory effects, and is of considerable benefit in the treatment for live diseases.

호두 첨가에 따른 청국장의 이화학적 특성 및 항산화능 변화 (Changes in the Physicochemical Characteristics and the Antioxidative Activity of Cheonggukjang by Addition of Walnut)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the changes in the physicochemical characteristics and antioxidant activity of cheonggukjang with the addition of walnuts. The pH of cheonggukjang did not change significantly with the addition of walnut. But the water content decreased significantly. Walnut addition to the soybean was expected to have a positive effect because the number of Bacillus subtilis was not reduced. The viscous substance content was significantly decreased when more than 20% of walnut was added to cheonggukjang. The addition of walnut made the color darker. The flavonoid and polyphenol content was sharply increased in proportion to the walnut addition and the DPPH radical scavenging activity of cheonggukjang also increased. Altogether, it was found that the addition of walnut had a positive influence on the cheonggukjang by increasing the antioxidant activity.

호두 속껍질 없는 것과 있는 것의 물 추출물 투여가 생쥐의 비장세포 및 대식세포의 활성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Administration of water extract of Juglandis Semen without Inner cortex and with Inner cortex on Activity of Splenocytes and Macrophages in Mice)

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of the administration of Juglandis Semen without inner cortex (JE) or with inner cortex (JEIC) on activity of splenocytes and peritoneal macrophages in BALB/C mice. JE (300 mg/kg, p.o.) did not affect the cell viability of T- and B-lymphocytes in murine splenocytes, but JEIC (300mg/kg, p.o.) increased the cell viability of T- and B-lymphocytes. Furthermore, JE decreased the population of B220$^+$ cells in splenocytes, but JEIC enhanced the population of Thyl$^+$ cells. Also, JEIC enhanced the population of splenic CD4$^+$ cells. JE decreased the production of nitric oxide and the phagocytic activity of peritoneal macrophages, but JEIC increased the production of nitric oxide and the phagocytic activity of peritoneal macrophages. These results suggest that JEIC is more potent than JE against the immune response induced by splenocytes and macrophages.

호두복합추출물이 골수유래대식세포의 파골세포 분화에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Juglans regia Complex Extract on Osteoclast Differentiation from Bone Marrow Derived Macrophage)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the inhibitory effects of Juglans regia complex extract(JCE) consisted of Juglans regia, Eucommia ulmoides, Eleutherococcus senticosus and Zingiber officinale on osteoclast differentiation. Cell toxicity test by using CCK-8, TRAP activity and TRAP positive multi-nucleated cell counting were performed to evaluate inhibitory effect on differentiation of osteoclast from bone marrow derived macrophages(BMMs) induced by receptor activator of nuclear $factor-{\kappa}B$ ligand(RANKL). As a result, JCE inhibited RANKL-induced osteoclast differentiation in BMMs dose-dependently without cytotoxicity. These results suggest that JCE may have a potential role for treating bone lytic diseases such as osteoporosis.

발열제어부품소재 적용을 위한 실리콘 복합조성물의 열전도 특성 (Thermal Characteristics of Silicone Composites for the Application to Heat-Controllable Components)

  • Hexagonal boron nitride particles (s-hBN) modified with 3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane (APTES) were used for the preparation of silicone composite materials. The microstructure of the composite materials was observed, and the thermal conduction and mechanical characteristics of the composite sheets were studied based on the compositions and microstructures. When a small amount of s-hBN particles was used, the thermal conductivity of the composite improved as a whole, and the tensile strength of the sheet also increased. The thermal conductivity and tensile strength of the composite in which a small amount of carbon fiber was added along with s-hBN were further improved. However, the use of carbon nanotubes with structural characteristics similar to those of carbon fiber resulted in lower thermal conductivity and tensile strength. Elastic silicone composites exhibiting 2.5 W/mK of thermal conductivity and a low hardness are expected to be used as thermally conductive interfacial sheet materials.

견과류로부터 효율적인 DNA 추출 방법 비교 (Comparison of methods of DNA extraction from tree nuts)

  • 본 연구에서는 견과류로부터 식품 분석에 사용될 DNA를 4가지 방법으로 추출하고 그 효율을 비교하였다. 동일한 양의 시료를 사용하여 추출된 DNA의 양은 CTAB법이 가장 우수한 것으로 확인되었지만, 추출 시간이 수배이상 오래 걸리고 유기용매를 사용한다는 한계점이 있다. 다른 방법들과 DNA 추출 양의 차이가 큰 잣, 캐슈너트, 피스타치오 너트, 땅콩의 시료는 CTAB법이 가장 효율적인 방법으로 판단되며, 호두, 헤이즐넛, 아몬드의 시료는 변형 CTAB법과 실리카 막법이 CTAB법을 대체할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 추출된 DNA를 식물 내재유전자 및 각 견과류에 특이적인 유전자를 사용하여 PCR을 진행하였으며, 모든 추출 방법에서 DNA가 정상적으로 증폭되는 것을 확인하였다.

주글론을 이용한 천연 모발염색 (Natural Dyeing of Hair using Juglone)

  • 모섬유에 높은 염착성을 가진 호두외피의 주색소인 주글론을 모발염색에 적용 가능성을 알아보기 위해 주글론의 모발에 대한 염색성을 조사하였다. 모발염색을 하기 위해서 먼저 시중 헤어전문점에서 사용하는 방법으로 모발을 표백하였다. 모발염색의 특성상 염색시간을 10-20분으로 섬유염색보다 훨씬 짧게 설정하였으며 염착성, 인장강도, 전자현미경 분석을 하였다. 염색시간이 증가함에 따라 염착성은 증가하는 경향을 보였으며 인장강도는 떨어져 모발 손상이 일어난 것을 알 수 있었다. 모발손상은 전자 현미경 사진으로 확인 되었다. 주글론 염색에 의해 모발에 YR 계열의 색상을 낼 수 있었다. 동시매 염 방법으로 철매염제를 사용한 결과 염착성 증진은 크지 않았으나, YR 계열 내에서 더 진한 색상을 얻을 수 있었다. 천연 모발염색에 주글론을 사용할 수 있을 것으로 사료되며, 염색조건에 따라 다양한 갈색계 열 색상을 부여할 수 있다.
