Impact of Student Assessment Activities on Claim and Evidence Formation in High School Argument-Based Inquiry (고등학교 논의기반 탐구 과학수업에서 학생 평가활동이 주장과 증거 형성에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of student assessment activities on claim and evidence formation in argument-based inquiry (ABI) for high school students. The participants of the study were 166 grade 10 students from six different classes in the same high school. The experimental group (84 students) was taught Argument-Based Inquiry with students' self and peer assessment activities. The comparative group (82 students) was taught without the activities. Over one semester students participated in five ABI programs that we developed. According to the analysis of the claim and evidence from groups, the experimental group had a significantly higher mean score than the comparative group. The result of analysis of students' assessment in the experimental group, the frequency about accurate and sufficient evidence revealed to be high and students assessed whether peers' claims fit with the evidence and whether peers' explanations of the evidence's validity was sufficient. Students' answers in the survey and interviews showed that the students though they could improve the accuracy of their ideas, appropriateness of their evidence, and the method of presenting evidence based on the assessment results.

The Impact of Changes in Social Information Processing Mechanism on Social Consensus Making in the Information Society (정보화사회에 있어서 사회적 정보처리 메커니즘의 변화가 사회적 컨센서스 형성에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구)

  • The advancement of information technologies including the Internet has affected the way of social information processing as well as brought about the paradigm shift to the information society. Accordingly, it is very important to study the process of social information processing over the digital media through which social information is generated, distributed, and led to social consensus. In this study, we analyze the mechanism of social information processing, identify a process model of social consensus and institutionalization of the results, and finally propose a set of information processing characteristics on the internet media. We deploy the ethnographic approach to analyze the meaning of group behavior in the context of society to analyze two major events which happened in Korean society. The formation process of social consensus is found to consist of 5 steps: suggestion of social issues, selective reflection on public opinion, acceptance of the issues and diffusion, social consensus, and institutionalization and feedback. The key characteristics of information processing in the Internet is grouped into proactive response to an event, the changes in the role of opinion leader, the flexibility of proposal and analysis, greater scalability, relevance to consensus making, institutionalization and interaction. This study contributes to the literature by proposing a process model of social information processing which can be used as the basis for analyzing the social consensus making process from the social network perspective. In addition, this study suggests a new perspective where the utility of the Internet media can be understood from the social information processing so that other disciplines including politics, communications, and management can improve the decision making performance in utilizing the Internet media.

Haptic recognition of the palm using ultrasound radiation force and its application (초음파 방사힘을 이용한 손바닥의 촉각 인식과 응용)

  • A high-intensity ultrasound wave generates acoustic streaming and acoustic radiation forces when propagating through a medium. An acoustic radiation force generated in a three-dimensional space can produce a solid tactile sensation, delivering spatial information directly to the human skin. We placed 154 ultrasound transmit elements with a frequency of 40 kHz on a concave circular dish, and generated an acoustic radiation force at the focal point by transmitting the ultrasound wave. To feel the tactile sensation better, the transmit elements were excited by sine waves whose amplitude was modulated by a 60 Hz square wave. As an application of ultrasonic tactile sensing, a region where tactile sense is formed in the air is used as an indicator for the position of the hand. We confirmed the utility of ultrasonic tactile feedback by implementing a system that provides the number of fingers to a machine by receiving the shape of the hand at the focal point where the tactile sense is detected.

  • 반도체 및 디스플레이 소자 제조를 위한 진공 플라즈마는 다양한 공정 조건하에서 다양한 공정 가스의 물리화학적 반응에 의한 박막의 형석 및 식각 반응을 유도한다. 실 공정 하에서 기체 성분의 환경 조건에 의하여 박막층 및 식각 구조 형성에 심각한 영향이 발생할 수 있으며, 공정 조건에서 기체 압력을 완벽하게 컨트롤 하는 것은 현실상 불가능하므로 기체 부분압력이 실시간으로 반드시 모니터링 되고 이를 피드백으로 하여 압력 변수가 조정되어야 완벽하게 공정을 제어할 수 있다. 이를 위하여 현장에서 플라즈마 공정을 실시간 in-situ 모니터링 할 수 있는 다양한 진단 방법이 도입되고 있으며 접촉신 진단 방법은 플라즈마와 섭동으로 인한 교란을 유발하고, 이온에너지 측정의 한계가 존재하며 비접촉식 방법 중의 하나인 유도형광법(LIF)은 측정 물질의 제한으로 인하여 플라즈마 내에 존재하는 다양한 가스 종의 거동을 살필 수 없는 등 현실 적용 측면에서 실 공정에 적용하는데 단점이 존재한다. 공정 상태 및 RF에 의한 영향을 주고받지 않고, 민감한 공정 변화의 감지 및 혼합가스를 사용하는 실시간 공정 진단을 위하여 비접촉 광학 측정 방식인 발광 분광 분석법(optical emission spectroscopy, OES)이 각광받고 있으며, 본 강습에서는 분광학의 기본 개념 및 OES를 이용한 진공 플라즈마 진단 방법에 관한 전반적인 개요를 설명하도록 한다

  • The purpose of this paper is to explore ways to assess computational thinking from a formative perspective and to design a process for assessing programming learning using Python. Therefore, this study explored the computational thinking domain and analyzed research related to assessment design. Also, this study identified the areas of Python programming learning that beginners learn and the areas of computational thinking ability that can be obtained through Python learning. Through this, we designed an assessment method that provides feedback by analyzing syntax corresponding to computational thinking ability. Besides, self-assessment is possible through reflective thinking by using the flow-chart and pseudo-code to express ideas, and peer feedback is designed through code sharing and communication using community.

User Sentiment Analysis on Amazon Fashion Product Review Using Word Embedding (워드 임베딩을 이용한 아마존 패션 상품 리뷰의 사용자 감성 분석)

  • In the modern society, the size of the fashion market is continuously increasing both overseas and domestic. When purchasing a product through e-commerce, the evaluation data for the product created by other consumers has an effect on the consumer's decision to purchase the product. By analysing the consumer's evaluation data on the product the company can reflect consumer's opinion which can leads to positive affect of performance to company. In this paper, we propose a method to construct a model to analyze user's sentiment using word embedding space formed by learning review data of amazon fashion products. Experiments were conducted by learning three SVM classifiers according to the number of positive and negative review data using the formed word embedding space which is formed by learning 5.7 million Amazon review data.. Experimental results showed the highest accuracy of 88.0% when learning SVM classifier using 50,000 positive review data and 50,000 negative review data.

Development of a Mentorship Education Model for the Gifted of the Science Education Institute (과학영재교육원 사사교육을 위한 모형 개발)

  • This study was performed to develop a model for mentorship education in the science education institute for the gifted. Existing mentorship education models were focused on R&E, which involved science high school students as research participants. For this purpose, a new model was proposed with comparatively definite stages and terms, and based on the theoretical background concerning science inquiry abilities and scientific creativities or the mentorship education in the science education institute for the gifted. Existing mentorship models for science-gifted students were analyzed and compared with the scientific inquiry process and science paper form. A science paper form consisting of four stages was selected. A new model was constructed consisting of six stages, and this model was modified to be made fit for application to students in the physics mentorship course at the science education institute for the gifted in K National University. Good points and improvable points of the model through the application were identified, and the model was modified accordingly. In conclusion, a new model was proposed as a mentorship model for science-gifted students. This model was constructed using the PREPARATION-INTRODUCTION-METHOD-RESULT-CONCLUSION-FINISH format.

  • In this paper, we investigated difficulties that middle school students face in the teaming process of proof, and then inquired how does learning of proof using GSP ease students' difficulties. Throughout the inspection, we identified that students have difficulties in understanding process of premise and conclusion, use of notation, process of reasoning. And we identified, throughout learning process of proof using GSP, students can be feedbacked for their guess or reasoning, generalize the special case to general properties and have attitude checking ideas needed in proof by themselves.

  • 본 논문은 온라인 커뮤니티를 통해 사용자들이 정보교류와 의사소통을 활발히 전개하여 사용자혁신 (User Innovation)을 촉진하는 사례들과 이와 관련된 현안 이슈들, 그리고 기업의 사용자혁신 활용 전략을 다루고 있다. 특히 인터넷의 보급과 확산을 통해 사용자들이 온라인 커뮤니티를 형성하고 상호 교류할 수 있는 장이 마련되어 사용자혁신이 더욱 활성화 될 수 있으므로, 휴대기기 산업에서 이러한 사례를 발굴하여 분석하였다. 특히 본 연구에서는 MP3 플레이어 산업에서 기업이 온라인 커뮤니티를 통해 고객정보를 어떻게 획득/처리/활용하는지, 그리고 스마트폰인 블랙잭 제품에서 어떤 과정을 통해 사용자혁신이 이루어지는 지를 사례연구 하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 1)온라인 커뮤니티에서 사용자의 역할과 (정보공유, 아이디어 창출, 문제해결, 정보취합, 제품테스트, 사용의견 제시, 제품홍보 등) 기업의 대응전략, 2)기업과 고객간 커뮤니케이션 패턴 (질문/불평/사용후기 및 피드백/시제품/공지 등) 특성, 3)온라인 커뮤니티 내에서 사용자간 커뮤니케이션 패턴과 현안, 4)온라인 커뮤니티 활성화를 통한 신제품개발 촉진방안 등으로 구분하여 제시되었다. 마지막으로 이러한 사용자혁신 사례를 바탕으로, 사용자혁신을 촉진하고 신제품개발과정에서 사용자의 참여를 강화할 수 있는 정책적 함의를 정리하였다. 특히 개방형 혁신이 강조되는 상황에서 사용자혁신은 개방형 혁신의 한 형태도서도 의미가 있으며, 향후 더 많은 사례연구와 실증분석이 요구된다.

Suggestion for the development model of next generation e-learning contents drawn from the principle of web progress (웹의 진화 원칙에서 도출해 낸 차세대 e-Learning 콘텐츠의 발전 모델 제안)

  • It is very active that existing companies of providing e-Learning contents try to differentiate themselves through a business model based on Web 2.0. For instance, Etoos, online education website (www.etoos.com) run by SK Communications has made more space where students can participate in the Web 2.0 era and overhauled its website completely, turning into an open-ended one, which strengthens learning and fun in 2007. This study is to analyze the present state of e-Learning contents with representative e-learning sites for middle and high school students, to find that the development direction for next generation e-Learning lies in developing contents focusing on learners that can get effective feedback and drawing collective intelligence grounded on the essence of Web 2.0, and to suggest 'the project to form virtual private tutor community in e-Learning contents.'
