Therefore, the research that endeavors to find the usage behavior and the acceptance intention of users of technologically innovative products is a very important quest. This study empirically analyzes the factors that influence commercialization of a technologically innovative product: cloud computing. Existing studies examined acceptance intentions by expanding the TAM model and excluded attitude and usage behavior. This study determined attitude, usage behavior and personal characteristics of consumers to be important influencing factors. The results of the empirical analysis are as follows: First, the self-efficacy of personal characteristics had a significant effect on ease of use and acceptance intention and perceived costs had a significant influence on the factors of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Second, research on the systematic characteristics of cloud computing confirmed that security was an important factor affecting acceptance intention while innovativeness was critical to ease of use. Third, of the usage characteristics among users of technologically innovative products, perceived usefulness had an effect on the acceptance and usage behavior of cloud computing, and perceived ease of use had an important influence on perceived usefulness. Currently, when cloud computing services have not yet become widespread to the public, this study proposed meaningful results for policy direction and commercialization strategies by revealing variables that influence acceptance and usage behavior.

  • Display industry in Korea has been rapidly developing over 20 years, now taking the top-class leading position in the world. Nevertheless, many previous studies have mainly focused on major panel set makers. To overcome the drawbacks, this study focuses on supplier companies in the upstream of display industry such as materials, components, and equipments sectors. The research method used in this study is an industry value chain perspective combined with architectural innovation approach. Display panel is produced through fabrication process and modular process, each having a different characteristics of process architecture. This research figured out that there are quite a different development characteristics between materials and components suppliers and equipment suppliers. The number and revenue of materials and components suppliers were quite larger than equipments suppliers. However, the former has been growing mainly in the field of modular process, having a very weak position in the field of fabrication process. On the contrary, equipments suppliers have been showing a continuously growing pattern in the field of fabrication process. The R&D expenditures between these two kinds of suppliers showed a similar pattern. The fabrication process of display panel production is characterized as a highly integral architecture characteristics, so as to be a strong barriers to local suppliers, resulting less development of materials and components suppliers in Korea.

  • The national government, as well as many regional governments, have supported the 'Ppuri industries', and the Daejeon region is in need of developing these sectors. Various research studies have examined the ppuri industries. However, there are limited studies concerning innovative activities and difficulties in the industries. Therefore, this paper focuses on firms' innovative activities and difficulties in the ppuri industries in the Daejeon region and provides policy implications. For this purpose, we surveyed firms supported by Daejeon Technopark's Ppuri industries programs, utilizing an innovation survey questionnaire developed by STEPI. We assumed that these firms have high intention for innovation among firms in the Daejeon's ppruri industries, and tried to identify characteristics and problems of innovative activities by comparing results with those of STEPI's Korean Innovation Survey. The results show that the overall pattern of innovative activities of Daejeon's ppuri industry firms do not differ from those found in the Korean Innovation Survey. However, there are a few notable differences. The rate of aborted innovation in the Daejoen's ppuri industries was higher than those found in the Korean Innovation Survey. Lack of financing was a major factor hampering innovation. These results provide policy implications that industrial and regional characteristics of ppuri industries must be reflected in the policy, and also policy measures for lowering the rate of aborted innovation.

  • Recent research on organizational innovation, such as. new managerial processes, practices, suggests it can be an important source of firm's competitive advantage. The challenge is not only offering new products and services, but also changing the nature of management within organizations. In this study, we focus on management innovation at the organization level and investigate the role of transformational leadership behavior as a key antecedent. Transformational leadership may complement an organization''s increasing rigidity by maintaining a sense of meaningfulness in members of the organization, which may be more flourishing to organizational innovation. Due to its prominent role within organizations, CEO has the ability to greatly influence management innovation. In particular, we focus on leadership behavior and examine transformational leadership of CEO. Additionally, as contextual variables like organizational structure(complexity, formalization, centralization) may influence the impact of transformational leadership, we investigate its moderating role. Findings show that transformational leadership behaviors positively contribute to organizational innovation. In addition, our study indicate that less complex, less formal and less central, organizations have benefit more from transactional leadership in strengthening organizational innovation.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare and analyze characteristics of Gangwon Innovation City and Wonju Company Town. Both were created with similar purpose, place, time, and scale. However, they were created with different approaches: relocating public institutions and attracting private institutions. For research data, population microdata provided by the National Statistical Office were used. As a result of the analysis, the Gangwon Innovation City and the Wonju Company Town greatly influenced the population growth of Wonju and the movement of the population within Wonju. The influx of population into the study area brought positive changes in both demographic structure and population indices. Excluding relocation to Wonju-si, Innovation Cities and Company Town accounted for more than 50% of those who migrated from the metropolitan area (Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon). The supply of apartment houses (apartments) in the Innovation City and the Company Town stimulated the transfer from the inside of Wonju to this area. For households that moved to Gangwon Innovation City and Wonju Company Town, the most common reasons for moving in were housing, occupation, and family.
