오늘날 정보기술은 항만 운영을 위한 필수적인 기술에 해당되며 항만의 경쟁력을 가늠하는 척도로도 항만의 정보화 수준은 매우 중요한 가치를 지닌다. 그러나, 항만의 정보화 수준에 대한 연구는 아직까지 매우 부족하고 최근의 수행된 선행연구의 경우에도 정보화 수준을 평가하는 지수를 개발하는데 주안점을 두고 있어, 컨테이너 터미널들의 실질적인 정보화 수준의 측정과 분석에 관한 연구가 결여되었다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 첨에 주목하여, 우리나라 주요 터미널의 정보화 수준을 분석하고, 몇 가지 시사점을 제시하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 한다. 특히, 본 연구에서는 선행연구의 지수모텔에서 고려되지 못했던 계층간 상호중복성 등을 고려하여 보다 명확한 지수모델을 수립하여 주요 컨테이너 터미널의 정보화 수준을 분석하였다.

This study utilizes Monte Carlo simulation to forecast the time charter rate of vessels, the three-month Libor interest rate, and the ship demolition price, to mitigate future uncertainties involving these factors. The simulation was performed 10,000 times to obtain an exact result. For the empirical analysis - based on considerations in ordering ships in 2010-a comparison between the Monte Carlo simulation-based stochastic discounted cash flow (DCF) method and traditional DCF methods was made. The analysis revealed that the net present value obtained through Monte Carlo simulation was lower than that obtained via regular DCF methods, alerting the owners to risks and preventing them from placing injudicious orders for ships. This research has implications in reducing the uncertainties that future shipping markets face, through the use of a stochastic DCF approach with relevant variables and probability methods.

It is debated whether the time value of bulk cargo should be reflected in the economic assessment of SOC investments. The purpose of this study is to present the basic considerations that should be addressed to reflect the time value of bulk cargo. The study first tried to understand the status of foreign countries, related research cases, and the limitations of applying findings to the domestic situation. Further, the method of reflecting the time value of bulk cargo, as well as the extent to which it is reflected, varies across countries. Furthermore, the reflection of the time value derived from the transport selection model remains a controversial issue. To overcome these limitations, this study suggests basic environment considerations to reflect time. Although the need to reflect the time value of bulk cargo is fully recognized, it seems that there are issues that need to be reviewed and solved before its actual implementation. To complement this, further research needs to be conducted, and it is expected that more clear guidelines will emerge.

At this point that port industry brings a new change as the concept of 'Green Logistics' appears, studies on an economic analysis of existing port Re-modeling have normally been conducted focused on market value factors such as Benefit-Cost analysis, On the other hand, there have been few studies on the analysis of Non-market value factors such as environmental value. Therefore, the purpose of this study is aimed to establish a Feasibility analysis model of Incheon inner port Re-modeling in the aspect of Non-market Benefit Factors classified by related factors such as, marine environment, waterfront facility and welfare of users by using AHP methodology based on the extracted result through previous studies.

The purpose of this research is to verify the strategic fitness and relevance of the distribution park for a hub port in Northeast Asia and to find a method to be a hub-port with a competitive edge. The strategic factor of distribution park development are policy, methodology and promotion method So these factors are analysed by structural equation model. The essential results of the research show that distribution park should be actually developed to produce value-added and to be port cluster.

Masan Port, which is a main entrance to Korea, has undergone the tough time these days. Many problems are mainly due to the deterioration of harbor facilities, the shortage of waterfront area and the decrease of the trading volumes. Especially the trading volumes are seriously affected by the Busan New Port, which was not only very close to the Masan Port but constructed in a large scale. For the Masan Port to develop continuously, therefore, it is vital to modernize harbor facilities, redevelop the old harbor, expand its waterfront, construct green port and develop harbor for sightseeing. At the same time, Masan port should be ready to develop a higher value added port. To vitalize Masan port's economy, we have to push forward a differentiation strategy that makes Masan port specialized harbor for distributing goods like hard and heavy cargo.

Since the mid 1980s, the concept of logistics has become more important to the enterprises in strategic sense because it had aggrandized itself to more comprehensive and integrative concept. Therefore study on the service organization of the logistics system for customer’s satisfaction from the management’s point has been focused as one of the major subject in order to improve the logistics quality which would ultimately increase the value of logistics service. This study has been focused on what the port logistics functions and the factors of the port logistics quality are those Korean port managers acknowledge as important factor. And examins these port logistics quality levels and the port logistics value (port productivity, service results) obtained by the results of these activities while reviewing the relation of the custom value which the port managers evaluate in order to evaluate and promote the competitiveness of the Korean port. According to the study results the port logistics function which the Pusan Container Terminal managers recognized as important were customer service management the flexibility of the port facilities and curtailment of the original operation cost of the port. It also indicated that the managers recognized the importance of the customer-oriented terminal management as it showed a close relationship with the port quality level.

The paper evaluated the effects of port hinterlands and suggested the policies to improve them in Korea. The results of evaluation indicated that it is difficult for the effects to be evaluated so good. It seems that a lot of efforts should be made to make port hinterlands carry out their own functions well, in that, in particular, they have had so bad effects in carrying out such functions as production, international trade, and city. Policy actions were suggested including reduction of rent, strengthening international logistics networks, and governmental funding etc.

Recently e-marketplace, one of the e-business models, has gotten the spotlight so many companies have invested in the E-marketplace work or considered doing business in such a fashion. According to these conditions, Internet business chances are expanded and strategic activities are increased in ocean or harbor fields, as well. In addition, these days, port-related-ideas have changed just increasing the carloadings, expanding the harbor facilities so called quantity growth into creating the high valued-added business, namely quality growth. The Shipping Instrument supply business is one of the important high valued-added businesses of the harbor-related field. However, because the Shipping Instrument supply business at Gwangyang Port is very poor and operated on a small scale, the harbor service business has not been activated. Thus this study demonstrates that the e-Marketplace is forming a way to expand the Shipping Instrument supply business in order to develop the harbor service business at Gwangyang Port.
