Antioxidant Activity of Colored Rice and Identification of New Substances, Oryzafuran and Allantoin (유색미의 항산화기능 및 신물질 oryzafuran과 allantoin의 추출분리)

  • 질병의 예방, 노화억제, 돌연변이 억제 등 다양한 생리활성을 나타내는 안토시아닌 색소 C3G가 다량 함유되어 있는 흑자색 유색미의 성분연구를 수행한 결과 9가지의 천연화합물을 분리하였으며, 그 중 항산화 기능이 매우 뛰어난 페놀성 화합물 oryzafuran을 최초로 분리 그 구조를 확인하였다. 또한 allantoin과 같은 알칼로이드도 쌀에서는 처음으로 분리하였다. 이러한 결과를 통해 흑자색 유색미는 식용이상의 역할을 수행할 것으로 판단된다. 아울러 이러한 성분의 정량분석 방법과 합성과 관련된 메커니즘, 성분의 약리적 기능, 유전자원 평가 등 산업화를 위한 체계적인 연구가 수행되어야 할 것이며, 더 나아가 고C3G, 저단백, 저알레그렌, 고불포화지방산 등과 같은 다기능성 유색미 품종을 육성 보급함으로써 국민보건 및 농가소득에 크게 기여할 것으로 판단된다. 특히 이와 같은 성분이 주로 분포하는 미강은 도정과정을 통해 대부분 제거되기 때문에 회수하기가 용이하고, 따라서 부산물로 발생하는 흰쌀을 식품가공분야에서 이용할 수 있어 산업적으로 가치가 매우 높다고 판단된다.

LDPE필름포장이 단감의 품질변화에 미치는 영향

  • 감(Diospyros kaki)은 한국과 일본이 주산지이며 국내 단감의 재배 품종은 만생종인 ‘부 유’가 주종을 이루고 있으며 독특한 맛, vitamin C 등 영양적 가치와 함께 식품으로서 안전성이 우수한 과실로 평가되면서 소비량이 매년 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 단감은 국내에서 생산되는 과실로서는 드물게 PE필름에 포장된 상태에서 유통되고 있다. 이렇게 포장된 과실은 저온상태에서 유통되어야 MA의 효과를 충분히 발휘할 수 있으며 유통기한도 연장될 수 있을 것으로 생각되나 현재 국내에서 저온 유통되는 단감은 찾아보기 어렵다. 이에 현행 상온유통에서 PE필름 밀봉 방식과 무포장 상태의 과실의 품질변화를 살펴봄으로써 그 문제점을 파악하고 반응표면분석을 통하여 최적 저장조건을 찾아내고자 하였으며 유통조건을 고려하여 0.05mm LDPE 필름밀봉방식의 품질변화를 보았으며, 문제점을 파악하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 LDPE 필름포장이 단감의 품질변화에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 단감은 2$0^{\circ}C$에서 0.05mm LDPE필름으로 포장하여, 당도, 수소이온농도, 경도를 측정하고 또한 $O_2$(1, 3, 5%) $CO_2$(5, 10, 15%)의 9구분으로 환경기체조성을 조절하여 중심합성계획법에 의해 반응표면분석을 하고 종합적으로 검토하였다.

Change of the saccharide content of fruit bodies by the addition of saccharides on oyster mushroom substrate (느타리버섯 배지의 당첨가에 따른 자실체의 당성분함량 변화)

  • Oyster mushroom is one of the popular mushrooms for Korean people and it is thus one of the mushrooms that were mostly cultivated in Korea in addition to winter and king oyster mushrooms. To promote the consumption in terms of its nutritional value and determine the absorption mechanism in its physiological and metabolic aspects, we investigated the sugar composition of its fruit bodies according to the amount of sugar component in the medium. As a result from the treatment of 4 different sugar components to the sawdust medium of oyster mushroom varieties (i.g., Suhan 1 ho, Yeorum, Chunchu 2 ho), we detected fructose, glucose, ribose, xylose as a monosaccharide with ${\alpha}$-lactose and trehalose as a disaccharide. The sugar alcohols were also detected including glycerol, mannitol, myo-inositol, and sorbitol. The sugar components that were detected in all treatments were trehalose, mannitol, ${\alpha}$-lactose, fructose, glucose, ribose, and myo-inositol and the rest of the components were found in some treatments with their different quantity included in the fruit bodies. The amount of monosaccharides included in fruit bodies is comparatively low and Suhan 1 ho contained them more than other varieties. There was no remarkable difference in the amount of sugar components in fruit bodies depending on treated sugars and their amounts in the treatment. With the increase of lactose treatment, the sugar components were markedly increased and the amount of trehalose in the fruit bodies was different according to the varieties. Therefore, it is not possible to detect the trend of sugar components according to the medium used in the cultivation. The sugar alcohols in the fruit bodies were comparatively contained more in Suhan 1 ho and Chunchu 1 ho. The amount of mannitol in the fruit bodies was not possible to be detected in terms of its trend according to the treatment. For myo-inositol, its quantity is gradually increasing in Suhan 1 ho and Chunchu 1 ho and it is not possible to detent the trend in Yeorum. In conclusion, we only detected ${\alpha}$-lactose as a sugar component that showed a correlation between the amount of treatment and the amount of the fruit bodies. Therefore, the sugar components detected in the fruit bodies were transformed rather than direct absorption into fruit bodies and further studies are needed to address this question.

Frequency of Spontaneous Polyploids in Monoembryonic Jeju Native Citrus Species and Some Mandarin Cultivars (단배성 제주 재래귤 및 만다린잡종에서 자연 발생적인 배수체의 발생 빈도)

  • Polyploids are a potentially important germplasm source in seedless citrus breeding program. Seedlessness is one of the most promising traits of commercial mandarin breeds that mandarin triploid hybrids possess permanently. The formation of new constant triploid hybrids can be recovered through diploid species hybridization from the fusion of divalent gametes at low frequencyor intra-and inter-ploidy crosses. However, extensive breeding work based on small $F_1$ hybrid seeds developed is impossible without a very effective aseptic methodology and ploidy event. In this study, in vitro embryo culture was employed to recover natural hybrids from monoembryonic diploid, open-pollinated mandarin. Flow cytometry was used to determine ploidy level. A total of 10,289 seeds were extracted from 792 fruits having approximately 13 seeds per fruit. Average frequency of small seeds developed was 7.1%, while the average frequency of small seeds per fruit were: 8.9% for 'Clementine' 10.2% for 'Harehime' 2.6% for 'Kamja' 3.1% for 'Pyunkyool' 2.8% for 'Sadookam' and 7.0% for 'Wilking' mandarin. Average size of a perfect seed was $49.52{\pm}0.07mm^2$ ('Clementine') while the small seed measured $7.95{\pm}0.04mm^2$ ('Clementine'), which was about 1/6 smaller than the perfect seed. In total, 731 small seeds were obtained and all of them contained only one embryo per seed. The efficiency of 'Clementine' was 14 times higher than 'Wilking' and more than 109 times higher than 'Pyunkyool'. The basic information on spontaneous polyploidy provides for the hybridization of constant triploids and increases the efficiency of conventional cross.

Studies on the Short Fermentation of the Mushroom Compost with Rice Straw (양송이 퇴비배지(堆肥培地)의 단기발효(短期醱酵)에 관한 연구(硏究))

  • The short period fermentation of the mushroom compost was studied as a method for the labor saving and mechanization of composting. Rice straw was crushed, watered and supplemented with organic nutrient sources. The straw-nutrient mixtures prepared were stacked and turned for short periods at the phase I and the phase II was carried out for 8 days. The total nitrogen of the short compost was lower than that of the conventional straw compost and it caused the yield decrease. The productivity of the short compost could be improved by the supplement of nurient sources. The effective nutrients were perilla meal and rice bran. Higher microflora of the rice straw-nutrient mixture during fermentation could shorten the composting period. For the short compost method the proper period of the phase I was 5 days.

Comparison of the nutritional compositions of oxidative stress-tolerant transgenic rice and conventional rice (산화 스트레스 내성 형질전환 벼 현미의 주요 영양성분 분석)

  • Nutritional assessment of transgenic crops to improve safety evaluations is important for food production. An oxidative stress-tolerant rice was generated by stable insertion of the TC gene-a tocopherol cyclase isolated from tobacco-into the genome of a common variety of japonica colored rice. The nutritional composition of the brown rice grains from the transgenic TC line was compared with that of the parental rice cultivar Heugnambyeo and two different varieties of non-transgenic rice. The results indicate that the analyzed nutritional compositions of the brown grains from the transgenic TC line were within the range of values reported for other commercial lines, and measurements of nutritional compositions were equivalent to those of the non-transgenic rice.

Rice Production, Distribution, and Utilization in China (중국의 쌀 생산, 유통 및 이용현황)

  • 쌀은 중국에서 중요한 식량작물로 제9차 5개년 계획(1966-2000년) 동안 재배면적 31.4백만 ha이며 생산량은 단위 ha당 6,303kg으로 198백만톤에 이르며 이는 재배면적으로는 식량작물의 27.7%, 그리고 생산량으로는 전체식량작물의 40%를 각각 점하고 있다. 이러한 재배면적과 생산량은 각각 세계전체면적과 생산량의 20.7%와 33.7%를 차지하는 많은 량이다. 중국의 남부지역은 전지역의 73.5%가 이모작으로 재배되며 주품종은 Indica이다. 중국의 중부지역은 이모작과 일모작의 재배형태가 2:3으로 공존하고 있으며 양쯔강 이북은 주로 일모작의 형태이다. 중국의 쌀 재배면적은 1960년대 이후 점차 증가하다가 1980년대 후반으로 정체되었다가 최근 90년대 말에 이르러서는 재배면적의 감소가 가속화되고 있으나 단보당 생산량은 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 2001년 중국의 쌀소비량은 138백만톤으로 이의 85.2%는 식량용으로, 5.8%는 사료용으로, 1.3%는 가공용, 1.5-2.0%는 수출용으로 그리고 1.2%는 종자용으로 소비되었다. WTO체제에 들어서도 중국의 쌀 생산에는 크게 영향을 받지않을 것으로 여겨지는데 그 이유로는 충분한 생산능려과 자급률, 쌀의 낮은(4%) 국제교역비율, 총생산량에 대한 낮은 쿼터비율 등을 들 수 있다. 그러나 WTO체제 가입에 따른 압력 또한 존재하는 것이 사실인데 그것은 낮은 품질, 국제가격보다 높은 국내가격 등을 들 수 있다. 향후 중국 쌀의 발전적 전략들로는 쌀의 안정적 발전을 지속하는 일, 쌀 재배구조 조정과 함께 높은 미질을 가지는 품종육종, 기계화를 비롯한 경작기술의 발달, 쌀과 부산물 가공기술의 개발연구, 특징 기능을 함유하는 유전공학적 기술의 적용, 토지와 도시화 그리고 식량순환에 시스템의 개혁 등 과학기술을 고양하는 일 등을 들 수 있다.TEX>$\times$10cm의 소식일수록 짧아서 재식주수와 경장은 정의상관이 인정되었다. 9 경직경은 30$\times$10cm, 40$\times$10cm의 소식일수록 크고 20$\times$10cm의 밀식일수록 작았다 10. 수량구성요소인 주근장과 수량인 건근중은 30$\times$10cm, 40$\times$10cm의 재식주수가 적을수록 높아서 재식주수와는 부의 상관이 인정되었다. 11 이상과 같은 결과로 보아 경직경이 크고 주근장이 길어서 10a당 건근중이 많은 30$\times$10cm(33주/$m^2$)가 알맞은 재식거리였다.에 대한 인식을 새롭게 하고 농약취급시의 건강장해예방행동을 촉구하는 등의 효과도 높은 것으로 예방의학적인 유용성이 크다고 볼 수 있다. 미침을 알 수 있었다. 대두 단백질로 코팅된 golden delicious는 상온에서60일 동안 보관하였을 경우, 사과표피의 색도 변화를 현저히 지연시킴을 확인하였다. 또한 control과 비교하여 성공적으로 사과에 코팅하였으며, 상온에서 보관하여을 때 사과의 품질을 30일 이상 연장하는 효과를 관찰하였다. 이들 결과로부터 대두단백질 필름이 과일 등의 포장제로서 이용할 가능성을 확인하였다.로 [-wh] 겹의문사는 복수 의미를 지닐 수 없 다. 그러면 단수 의미는 어떻게 생성되는가\ulcorner 본 논문에서는 표면적 형태에도 불구하고 [-wh]의미의 겹의문사는 병렬적 관계의 합성어가 아니라 내부구조를 지니지 않은 단순한 단어(minimal $X^{0}$ elements)로 가정한다. 즉, [+wh] 의미의 겹의문사는 동일한 구성요 소를 지닌 병렬적 합성어([$

A Study on the Artificial Intelligence-Based Soybean Growth Analysis Method (인공지능 기반 콩 생장분석 방법 연구)

  • Soybeans are one of the world's top five staple crops and a major source of plant-based protein. Due to their susceptibility to climate change, which can significantly impact grain production, the National Agricultural Science Institute is conducting research on crop phenotypes through growth analysis of various soybean varieties. While the process of capturing growth progression photos of soybeans is automated, the verification, recording, and analysis of growth stages are currently done manually. In this paper, we designed and trained a YOLOv5s model to detect soybean leaf objects from image data of soybean plants and a Convolution Neural Network (CNN) model to judgement the unfolding status of the detected soybean leaves. We combined these two models and implemented an algorithm that distinguishes layers based on the coordinates of detected soybean leaves. As a result, we developed a program that takes time-series data of soybeans as input and performs growth analysis. The program can accurately determine the growth stages of soybeans up to the second or third compound leaves.

Evaluation of Scab Resistance and Effect of Photosynthetic Rates on Fruit Characteristics among Elite Pear Seedlings (배 우량계통의 검은별무늬병 저항성 평가 및 광합성률이 과실 품질에 미치는 영향 구명)

  • BACKGROUND: The scab, which is caused by Venturia nashicola, gives serious damages to pear trees. 'Niitaka' accounts for 82% of areas in pear cultivation. However 'Niitaka' is a scab susceptible cultivar. So, most of Korean farmers who growing pear trees have suffered by economic losses with the scab. In this research, we evaluated the scab resistance among elite pear seedlings to clarify genetics about the scab resistance. And we analyzed photosynthetic features with these seedlings to develop suitable cultivar which is advantageous for producing quality fruits during the growth and development of plants. METHODS AND RESULTS: We measured the rates of scab incidence among seedlings in a field experiment condition and an in-vitro test. An in-vitro test has been done with field experiment-based results. We made plant materials by grafting branches of each seedlings with 'Kongbae' rootstocks. And they had been grown for one month. Then, scab conidia suspension is sprayed to seedlings and sustained for 40 days under the controlled environment. As the results, 6 seedlings displayed lower incidence rates than other seedlings and 'Niitaka'. We also measured instant photosynthetic rates of each seedlings to determine the correlation between photosynthetic rates and fruit characteristics. However, it seemed that there is no correlation between them. CONCLUSION(S): Among the seedlings, 6 seedlings displayed the higher resistance to scab than other seedlings and 'Niitaka'. This characteristics is considered to be come from the gene expression of European pear. And we found that photosynthetic rate in trees rarely does not influence the fruit characteristics. It is considered to be affected by cultivar's own characteristics.

Molecular cloning, sequences analysis and in vitro expression of the dihydroflavonol 4-reductase gene from Gypsophila paniculata L. (안개초(Gypsophila paniculata L.)로부터 dihydroflavonol 4-reductase 유전자의 분리 및 분석)

  • Dihydroflavonol 4-reductase (DFR) is a key enzyme of the flavonoid biosynthesis pathway which catalyses the NADPH-dependent reduction of 2R,3R-trans-dihydroflavonols to leucoanthocyanidins. In this study we describe cloning and expression of the genes encoding the flavonoid-biosynthetic enzyme DFR in Gypsophila paniculata L. Inspection of the 1279 bp long sequence revealed an open reading frame 1063 bp, including a 36 bp 5' leader region and 181 bp 3' untranslated region. Comparison of the coding region of this DFR cDNA sequence including the sequences of Arabidopsis thaliana, Citrus sinensis, Dianthus caryophyllus, Ipomoea batatas, Matthiola incana, Nierembergia sp, Petunia hybrida, Solanum tuberosum, Vitis vinifera reveals an identity higher than 69% at the nucleotide level. The function of this nucleotide sequences was verified by comparison with amino acid sequences of the amino-terminus and tryptic peptides from purified plant enzyme, by northern blotting with mRNA from wild type and mutant plants, by in vitro expression yielding and enzymatically active reductase, as indicated by the small leucopelargonidin peak. Genomic southern blot analysis showed the presence of only one gene for DFR in Gypsophila paniculata.
