  • 효율적인 인터페이스 정의 및 관리를 위하여 개발된 MDMS (Message Definition and Management System) 는 인터페이스 요구사항명세서(IRS: Interface Requirement Specification)과 인터페이스 설계기술서 (IDD: Interface Design Description), 인터페이스 구현 및 통합의 단계로 이루어진 인터페이스 개발 과정을 통합 관리할 수 있도록 해준다. 이러한 통합관리는 인터페이스 개발에 따른 IRS, IDD, 구현코드에 걸친 일관성 유지를 쉽게 해주며, 소프트웨어 개발 과정에서 가장 문제가 많이 발생하는 단계라고 할 수 있는 소프트웨어 통합에 있어서 인터페이스 불일치로 인한 문제의 대부분을 제거해 준다. MDMS 기반의 인터페이스 관리는 한번의 인터페이스 정의로 IRS, IDD, 송수신 코드까지 생성함으로써 인터페이스 정의 및 개발의 단계를 한단계로 축소하여 각 단계 사이의 불일치 발생이 미연에 방지되며, 일관성 유지 노력이 필요없다. 삼성탈레스에서는 2008 년 이후 10 여개의 함정전투체계 프로젝트의 소프트웨어 개발에 MDMS 를 적용하여 소프트웨어 개발 생산성의 향상을 이루었다. 특히 인터페이스 정의, 설계, 문서 작성, 코드 구현, 형상관리가 통합은 소프트웨어 인터페이스 개발과정에서의 불필요한 중복 작업을 최소화하고, 그에 따른 문서와 코드간의 불일치를 근본적으로 제거할 수 있었다. 또한, 소프트웨어 개발 관리 측면에서도 인터페이스의 복잡도를 평가하여, 향후 유사 시스템의 소프트웨어 아키텍처 구성에 활용할 수 있다.

Rule-Based Engine to support Warships' Text Communication (군 함정 문자 교신 지원을 위한 규칙 기반 엔진 설계)

  • The development of IT technology has brought many changes in military operations. For example, the way of transmitting and receiving information from one another has changed. Partiicularly, in the case of the ROK Navy, they utilize encrypted real-time chattig over wire wireless network in operations and tranings. However, text communication is being utilized more in exanging of simple informations, and not for the partical informations required in the operations and exercises, doctrines and guidebooks are still being used in these cases. Therefore, I have designed a rule-based engine which can provide real-time informations by linking ECA rules to text communication, and it has been verified by running virtual scenarios. As a rusult, this engine showed an accuracy of 83%.

  • 본 논문은 군과 경찰 등에서 수행하는 시뮬레이션 사격 훈련 중 스크린 사격과 VR 사격이 혼합된 복합 훈련 환경에서 사용할 수 있는 일체형 시뮬레이션 사격 서비스에 대해 연구하였다. 이 서비스는 스크린과 HMD에 투사되는 목표물에 대해 사격 훈련이 가능하도록 설계한 서비스로 하나의 가상공간에서 사용할 경우 스크린을 이용한 개인 사격 훈련과 VR을 이용한 팀 사격 훈련이 동시에 가능하다. 일체형 시뮬레이션 총기의 총구에 비가시 적외선 레이저 모듈을 장착하여 스크린 사격이 가능하도록 하고, 총열 상단에 HTC Vive Tracker를 장착하여 VR 사격에서 훈련자의 자세 및 위치를 인식하게 한다. 총열 하단에는 사용자의 행동을 제어하는 손잡이 형태의 인터페이스 모듈을 장착한다. 비가시 적외선 레이저 모듈과 인터페이스 모듈에서 발생한 신호는 일체형 시뮬레이션 총기의 총열에 장착한 무선 통신 모듈에 의해 블루투스 방식으로 통합 제어 장치로 전달되어 처리함으로써 혼합 환경에서 사용이 가능하다. 스크린 사격과 VR 사격이 동시에 가능한 혼합 환경에서 시험한 결과 운용이 가능한 것을 확인하였다. 일체형 시뮬레이션 사격 서비스는 기존 사람 중심의 훈련 서비스에서 자동차 또는 함정 등과 같은 조종 훈련 플랫폼과 연동하여 운용할 수 있는 기술 발전이 필요하다.

  • Anti-Air Warfare(AAW) functionality of the naval combat system is the key functionality to ensure the ship's survivability. We have applied a novel method using model-based-simulation to analyze and design AAW functionality of the Patrol Killer Experimemnt Combat System. In this approach, an AAW functional model is described with the FSM(Finite State Machine) and directly executed for the AAW simulation. After prototyping using model based simulation, Hardware In Loop Simulation(HILS) is conducted as the AAW functionality is interfaced with the other ones of the combat system for completing the integration of the system components. This incremental and iterative development approach based on the model based simulation can minimize the development risks and costs caused by the system complexity for military system, bringing out the merit of the rapid prototyping.

Design of Two-Stage CMOS Power Amplifier (이단으로 구성된 CMOS 전력증폭기 설계)

  • This paper presents a 2-stage CMOS power amplifier for the 1.75 GHz band using a $0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS process. Using ADS simulation, a power gain of 28 dB and an efficiency of 45 % at an 1dB compression point of 27 dBm were achieved. The implemented CMOS power amplifier delivered an output power of up to 24.8 dBm with a power-added efficiency of 41.3 % and a power gain of 22.9 dB. For a 16-QAM uplink LTE signal, the PA exhibited a power gain of 22.6 dB and an average output power of 23.1 dBm with a PAE of 35.1 % while meeting an ACLR(Adjacent Channel Leakage Ratio) level of -30 dBc.

  • Ammunition magazine, which is installed on the ground, has difficulty in protecting from the external attack, and accidental explosion should cause great damage to the life and property. For these reasons, it is needed to develop underground magazine that it has the advantages of safety, security and maintenance. This paper introduce the design case for blasting facilities, which should resist blasting pressure, as well as layout of underground magazine, which takes a safety for explosion and a working space of loading/unloading machine into consideration. On the layout, in case of ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ underground magazine, put three storage chambers in position almost parallel with principle stress direction, where less effected on discontinuity and hard rock area. Also, secured safe distance according to safety criteria of the Defense Ministry, and verified suitable layout by trace simulation for loading/unloading machine on working stage. Blasting design was performed on evaluation of maximum blast pressure between donar and acceptor chambers, and design condition for blast door, valve, etc. Diminution facilities against explosion, such as thrust block or debris trap, determined its size after plan in accordance with blasting criteria and calculation by structural analysis.

Development of Design Space Exploration for Warship using the Concept of Negative Design (네거티브 설계 개념을 이용한 함정 설계영역탐색법 개발)

  • Negative space in the discipline of art defines the space around and between the subject of an image. The use of negative space is an element of artistic composition, since it is occasionally used to artistic effect as the "real" subject of an image. In painting, it is a technique that negatively touches the background of an object to be expressed, so that it gives a feeling of unique texture and silhouette by touching unnecessary parts while leaving necessary parts. As in art, negative space in a design can also be useful to identify an image of infeasible design ranges with a straightforward view. Similarity between two disciplines leads to the introduction of the negative space concept for design space exploration. A rough design space exploration using statistics and visual analytics may support more efficient decision-making, and can provide meaningful insights into the direction of early-phase system design. For this, the approach guarantees dynamic interactions between visualized information and human cognitive systems. Visual analytics is useful to summarize complex and large-scale data. It is useful for identifying feasible design spaces, as well as for avoiding infeasible spaces or highly risky spaces. This paper investigates the possible use of the negative space concept by using an application example.

Design and Fabrication of Semi-cylindrical Radar Absorbing Structure using Fiber-reinforced Composites (섬유강화 복합재료를 이용한 반원통형 전자파 흡수구조의 설계 및 제작)

  • The stealth technology can increase the survivability of aircrafts or warships and enhance the capability of mission completion in hostile territory. The purpose of this paper is to present the low observable structure with curved surfaces made by fiber-reinforced composites and to show the possibility of developing omnidirectional stealth platforms for military applications. In this study, we developed a radar absorbing structures(RAS) based on a circuit analog absorber to reduce the radar cross section(RCS) of an object with curved surfaces. Firstly, the RAS with a periodic square patterned conducting polymer layer was designed and simulated using a commercial 3-D electromagnetic field analysis program. Secondly, the designed semi-cylindrical structure with low RCS was fabricated using fiber-reinforced composites and conducting polymer. To make the periodic pattern layer, acts as resistive sheet, the intrinsic conducting polymer paste containing PEDOT with a polyurethane binder was used. Finally, the radar cross section was measured to evaluate the radar absorbing performances of the fabricated RAS by the compact range facility in POSTECH.

  • We know that the all of warfare system has been becoming complex and variety in warfield thru the Gulf-War. The all of warfare electronic systems is designed to inter-operate by networks in recently. Especially Warfare Equipment systems of Men-of-War(War ship) as like KDX(Korea Destroyer, Experimental), FF(Frigate), PCC(Costal Patrol Craft), Submarine are connected by Combat System Databus to the Command system(C2 System), so C2 system can control all of equipments in ship. In this view, the status of network(Combat System Databus) is very critical parameter in war field. So In this paper, we propose the method of Network Management System construction for War ship, and especially propose the architectural design of network management system for DX(Destroyer, Experimental) equipments using SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol). And Link Utilization is monitored by simulation. 

The Conceptual Design and User Requirement Analysis of the HCI Multi-function Console for Ship (HCI 기반 선박용 다기능 콘솔의 사용자 요구조건 분석 및 개념 설계)

  • The multi-function console system in ships has currently exposed operational difficulties due to its complex interfaces although it supports a variety of functionalities. In this paper the concept of a human computer interaction (HCI) based multi-function console system is proposed, which can support intuitive operation environments by the analysis of users' needs to shipboard systems. Expert interviews and surveys are carried out in order to obtain users' requirements. Through the survey results, the HCI based multi-function console system is conceptually designed, which is optimized to the input of multi-touch screen. It is expected that the HCI based multi-function console system can provide ship operators with easy interfaces to the console system as well as safe operation in a rough ocean environment.
