The data were collected through self-report questionnaires between March 7 and April 20, 2016. Participants were comprised of a convenience sample of 122 female college students. Stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed subjective health status (${\beta}=.23$, p<.011), premenstrual syndrome symptoms (${\beta}=-.22$, p<.012), and average length of menstrual period (${\beta}=-.17$, p<.044) to be significant predictors of subjective happiness in female college students. These variables accounted for 14.0% of subjective happiness scores. It is meaningful that premenstrual syndrome symptoms and average length of menstrual period affected the subjective happiness in female college students. Regarding the subjects of the research, 41 female university students at one university were made into the P-samples. And, by selecting 34 Q-samples from the total of 141 Q-populations, the forced distribution took place in terms of the 9-points scale. The subjects were interviewed, and the contents regarding interviews were recorded. The data were analyzed with the QUANL program. As a result of the research, the 4 types were discovered. They appeared as 'the professional knowledge pursuing type', who consider the expertise regarding the skin management important, 'the nature-oriented type', who express the importance of the skin rather than the functional, cosmetic products, 'the active self- management type', who pursue the highly-functional cosmetic products and the active skin management, and 'the self-ostentation type', who consider the external parts, rather than the health, important. As a result, based on the results of this research, the special characteristics by each type regarding the skin health management of the female university students must be understood, and a differentiated educational method or approach method for the skin health management resulting this must be considered.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of appearance stress, alcohol intake, and eating attitude on self-esteem of female undergraduate students. Participants were 150 female undergraduate students who responded to a survey conducted from March to July of 2017. Data collected were analyzed by stepwise multiple regression analysis using an IBM SPSS 23.0. The influencing factors of self-esteem were satisfaction with college life and appearance stress, and the power of the variables was 11%. The results verified that college life and appearance stress were important factors influencing self-esteem, a critical element in the personality dimension that assesses self-affirmation. Therefore, self-esteem should be improved by providing a buffer to revitalize character resources for positive self-internalization, the formation of a healthy self-image and affect regulation which can enable one to flexibly cope with situations of appearance stress. Also, external resources should be provided inside and outside of school to help university students become cognizant of an objective perspective of the various environments of college life they face, as well as to have a positive view of themselves in college life by regulating the differences between the environments they face and their individual circumstances.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of ear acupressure therapy on premenstrual syndrome of the female college students. This research design of our study was a quasi-experimental design. Out of the 27 female college students, 13 were assigned to the experimental group and 14 to the control group. The data was obtained over 3 months from K college located in G city. The use of instrument to assess the premenstrual syndrome is Keele's VAS(Visual Analogue Scale) with the opening records. The subject of the experimental group received the ear acupressure therapy for 3 times for 60 days and the other control group did not get the ear acupressure therapy treatment. We analysed the data and extracted the values of percentage, mean, standard deviation, $x^2$-test, t-test, and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ using SPSS program. The VAS score of the premenstrual syndromes before the ear acupressure therapy was 7.3(experimental group), 7.46(control group) but after the ear acupressure therapy, the VAS score of the premenstrual syndromes was 3.36(experimental group), 7.17(control group). The result of this study reveals that the ear acupressure therapy was effective in improving the symptoms of the female college students who had the premenstrual syndromes.
