Hydration Heat Analysis of Coping With Ambient and Placing Concrete Temperature (교각 코핑부의 외기온도와 타설온도에 따른 수화열 해석)

  • The thermal stresses due to hydration heat in massive concrete structures are affected by ambient temperature and placing concrete temperature. It is needed to predict the thermal stresses considering ambient temperature and placing concrete temperature. In this study, hydration heat analyses of coping were carried out. After the maximum tensile stress was occurred at 2,75 days the crack index was increased. Therefore the possibility of crack occurrence was rare. The possibility of crack occurrence can be reduced by placing concrete temperature drop. Therefore some method to drop the placing concrete temperature may be effective to reduce the possibility of crack occurrence.

Absorption of Water by Husked and Naked Barley (겉보리 및 쌀보리의 수화속도)

  • The hydration of water, at $20^{\circ}\;30^{\circ}$ and $40^{\circ}C$ for 10-360 minutes, by the two varieties of husked barley and of naked barley which were polished to 40 and 30%, respectively, was investigated. The absorption was directly proportional to the square root of the hydration time and accounted for by the diffusion equation: 1-M = $(2/{\sqrt\pi})\;(S/V){\sqrt{Dt}}$, where 1-M is the relative moisture gain and S/V is the surface-to-volume ratio. The average diffusion coefficient (D) was given by the Arrhenius relation: D = $D_{0}\;exp\;(-Ea/RT)$, where the activation energy for both husked and naked barley was about 7.2 Kcal/mole. The average value of D for naked barley was slightly higher than that for husked barley.

Effect of Hydration Heat and Drying Shrinkage of Mass Concrete Using Hwangtoh Binder (황토결합재를 이용한 매스콘크리트의 수화열과 건조수축 효과)

  • In this paper, the applicability of hwangtoh, as an alternative of cement paste, is investigated for the solution of internal heat and shrinkage caused by the hydration of cement paste. Several small-sized specimens of hwangtoh and ordinary portland concrete(OPC) were compared as to compressive strength, heat of hydration, and shrinkage strain. Moreover, the applicability of mass structure was reviewed through the test of large-size specimens. The 28-day compressive strength of hwangtoh concrete(HBC), ranged 18 to 33 Mpa, can reach that of ordinary portland concrete. Not only the maximin internal temperature of HBC was read about 1/4 of OPC as it is cured, but also its drying shrinkage decreased as lower as 50% of OPC starting from 60 days. Therefore, hwangtoh binder is more favorable than cement one in the view of hydration heat and shrinkage under the construction of mass structures.

Effect of the Fineness on the Properties of Portland Cement (분발도가 포틀랜드 시멘트의 물성에 미치는 영향)

  • In order to investigate the effect of fineness on the properties of Portland cement, we prepared five kinds of portland cements with different Blaine values(2300, 2500, 3000, 3500, 45oo $\textrm{cm}^2$/g) and measured Ca(OH)2 analysis, hydration heat, the fluidity and the physical properties of them. According to the results, as the Blain value of cement is lower, the rate of hydration is delayed, and the hydration heat and the compressive strength are decreased. But the fluidity of cement paste is improved. Especially, the hydration heat of the cement with 2500$\textrm{cm}^2$/g of Blaine value is decreased about 15% compared with 3500 $\textrm{cm}^2$/g cement.

  • The influence of $H_3BO_3$ in one of inorganic retarder for the hydration of OPC was investigated. The shape of needdle Ettringite formed in few minitues for a no addition of $H_3BO_3$ but, retarded to form of Ettringite and $Ca(OH)_2$ according to addition of $H_3BO_3$. Hydration was retarded for tranquil of Al ion by to be low of pH.

  • 본 논문은 최근 급변하는 스마트 시대에 발 빠르게 대처하기 힘든 장애인들과 일반인간의 단절을 해소하기 위해 도움을 주고자 한다. 사람들 간의 융합을 위해서는 기본적인 대화가 진행되어야 하는데 청각언어 장애인들과의 대화를 위해서는 수화를 사용하여야 한다. 하지만, 일반적으로 수화언어에 대한 지식이 미흡하고 원활한 의사소통에 큰 문제점을 가지고 있다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 립모션을 이용한 수화 인식 툴의 개발을 통해 일반인과 청각언어 장애인들간의 의사소통을 증진시켜주는 것이 목적이다.

Studies on the Development of weed Control Method for Paddy Rice by Bensulfuron-methyl Combination Suspension Concentrate (Bensulfuron-methyl 혼합(混合) 액상수화제(液狀水和劑)의 사용법(使用法) 개발(開發) 연구(硏究))

  • This study was conducted to investigate the efficacy of weed control by pyributicarb{O-[3-tert-butylphenyl] N-[6-methoxy-2-pyridyl]-N-methyl thiocarbamate}/bensulfuron-methyl{methyl 2-[[[[[[4, 6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yl] amino] carbonyl] amino] sulfonyl] methyl] benzoate} SC and oxadiazon{5-tert-butyl-3-[2,4-dichloro-5-isopropoxyphenyl]-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2(3)-one}/bensulfuron-methyl SC, and to develope weed control methods for paddy rice. There was little difference between suspension concentrate and granule of pyributicarb/bensulfuron-methyl and oxadiazon/bensulfuron-methyl combination in the effect of weed control. Pyributicarb/bensulfuron-methyl SC and oxadiazon/bensulfuron-methyl SC were diffused from the point of application to 6m. Pyributicarb/bensulfuron-methyl SC applied on water surface from irrigation inlet and in paddy water from dike controlled more than 90% of weeds. Pyributicarb/bensulfuron-methyl SC was precipitated about 1-2cm per 1 hour after dripping on water surface. The efficacy of weed control by pyributicarb/bensulfuron-methyl SC was higher in 0-1cm than in 6-7cm standing water depth.

Method of Decreasing Cracking Index by Different Mix Conditions for Separated Placement and its Field Application (콘크리트 배합요인별 상·하부 분리타설에 의한 수화열 균열지수 저감방안 및 현장적용)

  • In this research, considering the practical situation of separated placing method for mass concrete structure, an efficient method of controlling the heat of hydration is suggested by comparing between the simulated values and actual measurements conducted with the optimum mix design obtained from the various mix conditions with different types and amount of supplementary cementitious materials(SCMs). As the result of the research, firstly, the optimum mix designs for top and bottom layers were determined by Midas gen as OPC to FA of 85 to 15, and OPC to FA to BS of 50 to 20 to 30, respectively. The concrete mixtures prepared with the mix designs determined from the simulation satisfied the target performance range in slump, air content and compressive strength. Additionally, from temperature measurement for the actual mass concrete placed during spring, the maximum temperature difference between surface and core was about $10^{\circ}C$ with 59 and $49^{\circ}C$ for top and bottom layers, respectively, and 1.4 of cracking index was obtained. Therefore, considering the practical conditions of mass concrete construction, it is considered that the different heat of hydration method using different mix designs with SCMs can be an efficient method for controlling thermal cracking and settling cracking of mass concrete.

  • Quality control of early age concrete significantly influences the long term performance. Primary factors for early age concrete quality control should include the relative humidity and temperature variation, and these are more important as structures become massive and huge. Temperature raise due to cement hydration causes stress, which can develop to cracking with internal and/or external restraints. Exposure conditions including ambient temperature, humidity and wind also significantly affect the cracking behavior of early age concrete. Among many of studies on the early age concrete behavior, investigation on the variation of temperature and relative humidity internal of concrete is not common. That is in part because the difficulties in measuring the relative humidity and temperature inside the concrete. This study used a digital sensor with an appropriate logger to measure internal temperature and relative humidity. This direct measuring method is expected to provide more reliable and comprehensive data acquisition on the early age behavior of concrete.

Insecticidal Susceptibility and Emergence of First Instar Larvae of Pseudaulacaspis pentagona (뽕나무깍지벌레 1세대 부화 약충의 발생과 살충제 감수성)

  • The white peach scale (Pseudaulacaspis pentagona) is a significant pest of trees belonging to the Rosaceae family. We investigated the effect of ten insecticides on hatching rate of first instar white peach scale larvae (crawlers). The insecticides are Dinotefuran WG, Benfuracarb WG, Pyrifluquinazon WG, Clothianidin SG, Buprofezin WP, Buprofezin+Imidacloprid SC, Buprofezin+Etofenprox WG, Buprofezin+Thiacloprid SC, Benfuracarb+Buprofezin WG, Acetamiprid+Buprofezin EC. We observed that several crawlers emerged in early May, with the average number being 45.7. Hatching period was approximately 14 days, and the hatching success rate was approximately 77.7%. Overwintering females produced an average of 58.7 eggs. All insecticides achieved 100% mortality in crawlers. Our results suggest that these insecticides can effectively control white peach scale when used at the crawler stage.
