The purpose of this study is to analyze the usage patterns of document delivery services of domestic users based on usage transaction data about photocopying services of KISTI-DDS that the most important document delivery organization in Korea.. For the purpose of this study, it was investigated the number of processed document, type of favorite documents, ordering coverage for photocopying, delivery methods of photocopying documents for users in DDS(document delivery service) through transaction data of DDS during the past 4 years from 2000 to 2003.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the research trends of library and information science in Korea by means of the subject analysis of the Korean journal articles published during the last sixty years and by means of the ciation analysis of the literatures cited in the journal articles. The results of this study are as follows. First, the subjects of the journal articles are difference from the articles by publication period. The core subjects of the research have been changed over the years. Second, the subjects of library and information science literatures in foreign languages cited in the journal articles are difference from the literatures by citation period and by literature age. Third, the subjects of other disciplinary literatures in foreign langauges cited in the journal articles is difference from the literatures by citation period and by literature age. Fourth, although the half-life of library and information science literatures cited in the journal articles is difference from the literatures by subject, the half-life of the literatures of this discipline is 10-year.

This study is to analyze impact factor, self-citation, immediacy index and cited half-life through citation analysis of scholarly journals of LIS field in Korea. This study was analysed the 9,329 references cited in Korean scholarly journal of LIS field. As a result, it analyzed that the articles of Korean LIS journal among the cited references in scholarly journal of LIS field in Korea is very insignificant. In other words, the percentage of citations was observed 19.1% in Journal of Korean Library and Information Science Society (KSLIS), 20.2% in Journal of the Korean Society for Library and Information Science (KLISS), 17.0% in Journal of the Korean Society for Information Management (KOSIM), 18.8% in Korean Biblia Society for Library and Information Science (KBIBLIA). Also, the cited half-life was analysed 5.87 years in KSLIS, 5.40 years in KLISS, 4.25 years in KOSIM, 3.57 years in KBIBLIA. And Impact factor has been found to be very low compared to journals of other fields.

The purpose of this study is to develop a media literacy education model that helps public librarians plan and operate media literacy education programs in South Korea. To develop the model, a mixed methods study consisting of a literature review, a survey of librarians, and interviews with professors, public librarians, and media literacy instructors was conducted, Additionally, an expert advisory committee was formed and consulted to obtain opinions on the developed model. As a result of survey and interviews, public libraries and librarians are perceived to have a responsibility to improve citizens' media literacy, and public libraries are recognized as the best educational institution to achieve that goal. By reflecting on the literature review and analysis of the research findings, the research team developed, and presents herein, a media literacy education model that includes educational objectives, core competencies, educational targets, media types, and roles and functions for each educational subject.

연구자들이 국외 생명과학관련 문헌정보를 찾으려면 PubMed와 같은 세계적인 문헌정보서비스를 많이 이용하며, 국내 생명과학관련 문헌정보를 찾으려면 KISTI 학회마을, KoreaMed 등 여러 사이트를 방문해야 한다. 이에 생명과학관련 연구를 원활히 수행할 수 있도록 생명정보 데이터베이스와 분석도구를 서비스하고 있는 KISTI 바이오인포매틱스센터(CCBB) 홈페이지에서 인터넷상의 Open Access 문헌정보와 국내 학회정보를 수집하여 메타 데이터베이스를 구축하여 서비스하고자 한다. 또한 생명과학 관련 주제별 Open Archiving 커뮤니티의 구성과 운영을 통한 연구자간의 정보교환을 유도하고, 더불어 논문뿐만 아니라 세미나, 연구노트 등의 최신의 연구정보를 공유할 수 있도록 본 프로토타입 시스템을 설계하였다.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the essence and directions of the library and information science education in Korea. For this purpose, first, the introduction and development of library and information science education in Korea was examined in this research; Second, the problems in the library field as well as the academic community of library and information science are analyzed; Third, based on these findings, the essence and directions of developing library and information science education are explored. In this research, an attempt was made to figure out the essence of library science education with the focus on libraries as 'the quality as a facility', not as 'a facility itself.' Furthermore, it was emphasized that Korean Library Association should establish the essence of library and information science education, develop the standard program for educating professional librarians, and improve the certification system and educational institutions for librarians by connecting the library field with the academic community of library and information science.

This study applied dynamic topic modeling on titles and abstracts of 55,442 academic papers in 85 SSCI journals from 2001 to 2020 in order to analyze research topic trend in library and information science. The analysis revealed four major themes of library management, informatics, library service, and library system in 10 major topics. The results also showed subtopics in information science and library management topic areas to change over time, while library service remained stable over 20 years to establish itself as a robust topic. In addition, medical information emerged as a significant sub-topic of informatics, thus exemplifying the interdisciplinary characteristics of library and information science field.

Individuals majoring in Library and Information Science (LIS) typically find employment in the library sector, such as working as librarians, university librarians, and in public libraries. Recent advancements in information technology and shifts in work outlooks have broadened the professional opportunities for students majoring in LIS in several sectors. Research on career exploration varies based on the university major or occupation. This paper suggests a methodology for conducting surveys and analyzing data efficiently to support ongoing career exploration for students majoring in LIS. It also examines the findings of a career exploration survey conducted among LIS majors. The survey findings indicate that individuals majoring in LIS are adapting their salary expectations and priorities in alignment with societal shifts, showing a preference for diverse career opportunities outside traditional librarian roles. Effective support and ongoing research are essential for the career development of LIS majors in this environment.
