Characteristics and Potential on YouTube's Chinese Language Education Channel Contents (유튜브 중국어 교육 채널 콘텐츠에서 나타나는 특징과 발전 가능성)

  • This study divided video content of current representative YouTube channels on Chinese language education into internal and external elements for analysis. By examining these channels, this study found that they have various external and internal elements. In addition, YouTube classes also have certain distinct characteristics that are non-existent in traditional classroom or face-to-face classes, and show potential to serve as a new educational medium that can fill the gaps in existing classroom classes. However, a large number of these channels still have problems with their internal and external elements, which seem to require not only the effort and attention of the instructors creating the videos, but also considerable time and human and material resources.

Analysis of Faculty Perceptions and Needs for the Implementation of AI based Adaptive Learning in Higher Education (대학 교육에서 인공지능 기반 적응형 학습 구현을 위한 교수자 인식 및 요구분석)

  • This study aimed to analyze the level of professors' understanding and perception of adaptive learning and proposed how college can implement successful adaptive learning in college classes. For research purposes, online survey was conducted by 162 professors of A university in capital region. As a result, professors seemed to feel pressure to provide students personalized feedback and gave concerned that students don't study enough in advance before participating in class. It was also found that professors realized that they have low level of understanding about adaptive learning, while they revealed intention to make use of adaptive learning in their class. They also answered that adaptive learning system is the most helpful support for encouraging professors to apply adaptive learning in real class. We proposed what is required to encourage professor to implement adaptive learning in their class.

  • The user satisfaction and needs of an academic library were caught through a questionnaire survey in this study. The aim of this study is to draw up the CRM based plan for meeting user needs on the study. The users' demographic information, library resources & their use, homepage, services, and facilities/environment of the library were categorized in the questionnaire and analyzed for this study. The major conclusions of this study are: (1) The library resources use was the highest, and its facilities/environment was the lowest in the user satisfaction study. It also revealed that there are much necessities for the quick acquisition and dissemination of the requested material to the library users, and for the inter-library loan (ILL) services among campuses for the subscription books in the library resources use study, too; (2) There are a lot of necessities for the improvement of OPAC retrieval and the subscription books system, and menu rearrangement in the library homepage; (3) There are a lot of necessities for the plans of more frequent library event, more detailed event guidance, and more reinforcement of public relations such as SMS, push services of SDI etc. in the library user services; and (4) There are a lot of necessities for the improved policies to the complaints of library users such as the lack of common study place and lockers, air conditioning and heating problem, complaints about facilities management of restroom (lack of toilet paper), library accessibility on campus, unauthorized user management etc. in the facilities/environment of the library.

  • The use of manipulative materials is one of the most important teaching-learning methods at primary level, and is recommended across all grade levels and for all areas of mathematics. This study looked into specific manipulative materials suggested in Korean elementary mathematics textbooks and analysed perceptions and actual use of the manipulative materials according to the teachers. As a result, although most teachers were fully familiar with mathematical topics for which manipulative materials can be used and actually used those materials in lessons, but their knowledge on the efficiency of manipulatives and the way to use them efficiently was found somewhat insufficient. This suggests that teachers' knowledge on manipulative materials must be enhanced and there should be active measures taken to support the use of it.

  • 통계는 연역적 사고를 강조하는 수학의 다른 영역과 달리 귀납적 추론과 직관적 사고를 요구한다. 따라서 학교 수업에서 학생들이 실제적인 상황을 모델링 할 수 있도록 하며, 주어진 상황에서 자료를 올바르게 산출하고 분석 할 수 있도록 적절한 지도 방법이 필요하다. 그렇지만 학교 수업은 대다수 알고리즘 연습 위주의 통계 학습-지도로 통계적 사고 교육이 제대로 이루어지지 못하고 있다. 이로 인해 학생들은 형식적인 통계 처리에는 익숙하지만 통계 교육의 궁극적 목적인 변이성과 자료를 현명하게 다루는 능력이 부족하다. 본고에서는 피상적인 기계적 계산위주의 통계교육에서 실제적인 자료를 수집하고, 이를 적절히 가공 처리하여 정보의 가치를 높일 수 있는 통계 지도 방향을 탐색해 보고자 한다.

The Effect of Havruta Problem making on Learning Attitude, Learning Flow, Self-directed Learning Ability of Nursing Students in Pathology Class (병리학 수업에서 하브루타 문제만들기 적용 후 간호대학생의 학습태도, 학습몰입, 자기주도적학습능력 평가)

  • The Purpose of this study was to confirm the effect of Havruta-problem-making consisting of extracurricular activities in pathology classes on nursing students' learning attitude, learning commitment, and self-directed learning ability. Data collection was conducted from August 25 to December 23, 2023 for 84 nursing students in the M University. Paired t-test was conducted on the collected data using the SPSS/WIN 20 program. As a result of the study, learning attitudes (t=-2.00, p=.046), learning flow(t=-1.54, p=.124) and self-directed learning ability (t=-.63, p=.529) were statistically significantly improved by applying Harbuta-problem making. Since Havruta-problem making has been identified as an effective teaching method for nursing students, a study is suggested to confirm the difference between grades. In addition, there is a lack of research that measures the learning attitudes of college students, so repetitive research is needed.

Development and Application of Issue-Centered Teaching.Learning Process Plan for Environment-Friendly Housing Education (환경친화적 주생활 교육을 위한 쟁점중심 교수.학습 과정안 개발 및 적용)

  • The purpose of this study was to develope issue-centered teaching learning process plan for environment-friendly housing education and to apply it to the housing section of Technology Home Economics in a middle school. PRO-CON cooperative group model was used for the teaching learning process plans of 2-session lessons according to the ADDIE model. In the development stage, 7 activity materials and 20 teaching learning materials (4 reading texts, 12 pictures and photos, & 5 moving pictures) were developed for 2-session lessons. The plans applied to the 7 classes, 222 students, in the third grade of the G middle school in Gyeonggi-do during July 10th-17th, 2008. The results showed that the final pro-con was influenced by the rationals of juries' pro-con of each team and the representative's discussion besides one's environmental perspective. The intention to implement environment-friendly housing activities was significantly increased between before and after the lessons. The contents, methods, goals, and process of the 2-session lessons were evaluated over medium to somewhat higher levels. Those evaluations except methods and general satisfaction with the lessons were differed by sex, students' and their families' interests in environments but not by the type of housing. These results might support that pro-con cooperative group model of controversial issues on parking lot would be appropriate to environment-friendly housing lessons and could apply to broad issues on housing and various schools in other areas.

  • The Internet had been taken properties which were both a slow speed and low-bandwidth of the first time. It was impossible to transmit large multimedia data because of a Internet properties. After tens of Year Passed, many people began to transmit multimedia data in the Internet which had fast-speed and high-bandwidth. Some people want to team classes to be taught in school through the Internet. And, educators wish to use multimedia data in the educational field. Due to previous reasons, many parts in the educational field had tried to join real-time objects to multimedia objects. But, real-time data didn’t appear easily due to many faults like network errors and system bugs if we want to control data in order to teach and learn classes. Then, this paper separates real-time and unreal-time data and controls these data that aye made a time scheduler to have time information in the extended SMIL-file for deceasing these faults.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop an education system to protect elementary school students from inappropriate information and verify the effect of the program. It was deemed necessary that an education system be developed for the cultivation of appropriate information selection and self-censorship of inappropriate Internet information. To this time, however, schools have not placed great importance on this concept because of the lack of the documents and the teaching strategies. Our system gives support on three levels to a learning course according to collected documentation. The learner receives not only feedback activities and results from others and the teacher, but also counsel from the teacher about difficulties. The system implementing this methodology indicated that both the students' recognition of harmful information and their moral values were improved as the result of applying the system in a local elementary school.
