Measurement of Improved Learning Outcomes using Job Assignment Teaching Method (직무배정 수업기법의 학습성과 향상도 측정)

  • Kim(2011) showed that the team-based teaching method which is focusing on the individual job assignment solves the backlash effects of peer-evaluation method and suggested that it should be studied if the job assignment teaching method does not worsen the learning outcomes[1]. To analyse the learning outcomes of the job assignment teaching method is the purpose of this paper. This paper evaluates the improvement of the learning outcomes which are resulted from a variance of education style that each member of project team was given his specific task. Firstly, all the students evaluate a learning satisfaction and quality of outcomes by themselves. Secondly, an instructor and some professionals evaluate all the outputs. The results showed that the learning outcomes evaluated by students and instructors are improved significantly. The suggested method in this paper, which focuses on the job assignment of team project, could improve the learning outcomes of team project in engineering education.

  • 문제 해결 상황에서의 전이 학습에 관한 연구는 실제 학습 장면에서 학생들이 문제를 좀 더 쉽게 이해하도록 하고, 이를 바탕으로 효율적인 학습이 일어나도록 한다는 점에서 중요하다. 본 연구의 목적은 컴퓨터 학습 환경에서 학습 자료의 난이도와 예제의 사용이 전이에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대하여 알아보고자 수행되었다. 첫 번째 실험에서는 문제 구조가 비교적 잘 정의되어 있는 확률 문제를 대상으로 하여 학습 자료 유형과 난이도가 전이에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 실시되었다. 학습 자료 유형은 재인(recognition), 증명(verification), 유추(analogy) 세 가지 조건이었으며, 문제의 난이도는 피험자의 수행 평가를 기준으로 하여 세 가지 수준으로 조작되었다. 두 번째 실험에서는 학습 자료 유형과 예제(earlier example)가 전이 학습에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 실시되었다. 실험 결과 학습 자료 유형과 난이도 각각의 주효과가 통계적으로 유의하였으며, 예제의 제시유무는 전이 검사에서만 경향성을 보였다.

An Importance-Performance Analysis on the e-Learning Content Components of Cyber Graduate School (원격대학원 콘텐츠 구성요소에 대한 중요도-수행도 분석: J대학 원격대학원 사례를 중심으로)

  • In this study, the importance-performance analysis (IPA) of the content components of remote graduate students was conducted. To this end, an online survey of 221 remote graduate students at J University obtained the following results. First, the importance of content components by area was in the order of learning content, interaction, teaching-learning strategy, and evaluation, and the degree of execution was in the order of teaching-learning strategy, interaction, evaluation, and learning content. Second, it was found that there were significant differences between importance and performance in the four areas of content components: learning content, teaching-learning strategy, interaction, and evaluation. The importance-execution analysis (IPA) was conducted in two dimensions: region-specific and item-specific, and the results are as follows. The learning content was found to be the maintenance area, the teaching-learning strategy and interaction were the key improvement areas, and the evaluation area was the overinvestment area. The results of this study can be used as basic data to diagnose the present of remote graduate school content and to gauge what needs to be improved in the future based on it.

  • This research presents a performance assessment system of which the purpose is to increase the effectiveness of the instruction and learning through the on-the-job superintendent of the instructor, the self-directed learning of the learner, and the interaction between instructors and students. The presented performance assessment system applies the problem-based situated learning of the web-based performance assessment to the production, the execution, the assessment, and the transmission of the test. For the effective administration and learning in the school, we applies the Problem-Based Learning of constructivism and the web-based situated learning of the learning community to the system design. The production of the web-based performance assessment shows that the problem-based and self-directed learning of the assessment are achieved through the web-based automatic production of the performance assessment, and the contextual learning by case-based learning is performed by the production of the template of the performance assessment.

  • This study analyzed the relationship between the characteristics of learners and the achievement level according to the language they learn in programming education for non-major students. The learner's characteristics were set as mastery goal, situaltional interest, cognitive engagement, and self-efficacy for performance, and path analysis was conducted to understand the relationship between the language used and the learning achievement. Situaltional interest and cognitive engagement were found to have an effect on self-efficacy for performace, and self-efficacy for performance had an effect on academic achievement. At this time, the type of programming language to be studied showed a moderating effect on learning achievement. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that appropriate instruction is needed for each language used in programming lessons for software non-majors.

  • The recent change of educational evaluation puts particular emphasis on performance assessments which can appraise learning processes as well as learning results. The performance assessment is not only helpful for the improvement of teaching and learning methods, but also for making the learning activities significant to learners themselves. In this paper we propose and implement a system to support the internet-based and essay-typed performance assessment, in which student's performance can properly be evaluated. Teachers can be relieved from the burden of testing and provided with convenient methods of evaluation. We analyze the performance of the implemented system by evaluating practical usages of selected instructors and students group.

  • 학습과 감정은 지능형 시스템을 구현하는데 있어 가장 중요한 요소이다. 본 논문에서는 강화학습을 이용하여 사용자와 상호작용을 하면서 학습을 수행하고 내부적인 감정모델을 가지고 있는 지능적인 가상 캐릭터를 구현하였다. 가상 캐릭터는 여러 가지 사물들로 이루어진 3D의 가상 환경 내에서 내부상태에 의해 자율적으로 동작하며, 또한 사용자는 가상 캐릭터에게 반복적인 명령을 통해 원하는 행동을 학습시킬 수 있다. 이러한 명령은 인공신경망을 사용하여 마우스의 제스처를 인식하여 수행할 수 있고 감정의 표현을 위해 Emotion-Mood-Personality 모델을 새로 제안하였다. 그리고 실험을 통해 사용자와 상호작용을 통한 감정의 변화를 살펴보았고 가상 캐릭터의 훈련에 따른 학습이 올바르게 수행되는 것을 확인하였다.

The Characteristics of the Learning Performance according to the Indoor Temperature of the Learning Environment and the Color of the Learning Materials (학습 환경의 실내 온도와 학습재료의 색채에 따른 학습수행의 특성)

  • This study examined whether the combination of the indoor temperature on the learning environment and the colors of the learning materials affect the learning performance. To do this, the condition of indoor temperature was divided into three conditions: the neutral condition which is the appropriate temperature condition of the learning activities ($22.5{\sim}24^{\circ}C$), the high-temperature condition (> $24^{\circ}C$), and the low-temperature condition (< $22.5^{\circ}C$). In addition, colors of red, blue, black, and green were used as the warm, cold, and neutral colors, and the verbal-working memory task was used as the learning task. As a result, it was not significant differences in the response time of the learning task, whereas, in the accuracy rate of the learning task, the performance was more accurate in red- and black-color conditions. These results could be interpreted as the saliency and color-temperature of the red color, and the familiarity and specificity of the black color.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of learning motivation on interaction in online collaborative learning. The study subjects are 79 university students who take courses in teaching. Learning motivations measured the intrinsic goal orientation, extrinsic goal orientation, tasks value, control of learning beliefs, test anxiety, self-efficacy, goal orientation by MSLQ. Next, the level of interaction was measured by online collaborative tasks. The group for online cooperation tasks consisted of four to five people and random assignment. The level of interaction was used frequency and score that quantitative Value assess. The collected data were analysed using multiple regression analysis(stepwise). As a result, self-efficacy and extrinsic goal orientation, tasks value, mastery goal orientation were positive effect on frequency and score. next, test anxiety and performance avoid goal orientation were negative effect on frequency and score.

Extended Direct Learning Control for Single-input Single-output Nonlinear Systems (단일 입출력 비선형 시스템에 대한 확장된 직접학습제어)

  • In this paper, an extended type of a direct learning control(DLC) method is proposed for the effective control of systems which perform a given task repetitively. DLC methods have been suggested to overcome the defects of iterative learning control, the learning process should be resumed from the beginning even if a slight change occurs in the desired output pattern. If a given desired output trajectory is "proportional" to the output trajectories which are learned previously, we can obtain the desired control input directly without the iterative learning process by using the DLC. First, most existing DLC methods are shown to be applicable only to single-input single-output systems with the relative degree one and then, an extended type of DLC is proposed for a class of nonlinear systems having the relative degree more than or equal to one by using the known relative degree of a nonlinear system. By the simulation results for the arbitrary nonlinear system with the relative degree more than one, the validity and the performance of the proposed DLC method are examined.
