The purpose of this study is to obtain science high school students' perceptions of scientists and their work before and after the Green Investigation program with scientists. This study also attempts to determine whether the program affected the participants' perceptions of scientists and their work. A modified DAST was carried out with 64 high school students. Findings revealed that Korean science high school students had normal perceptions of scientists, such as images of 20 to 30 year old males wearing laboratory coats and working alone in research labs with test tubes, flasks, and several machines in the background. After the intervention, students drew fewer typical items representing scientists and had significantly different perceptions of their work places between the pretest (M=1.69, SD=1.14) and posttest (M=1.96, SD=1.24, t=4.43, p<0.001) with the eta squared statistics (.24). These findings reflect the need for continued efforts of developing green investigation programs with scientists for students. Some future studies based on this study are also introduced.

Due to COVID-19, most schools are conducting online learning. In this study, a total of 12 block-type educational programming tool classes were conducted in the form of online learning for 6th grade elementary school students, and then quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed students' perceptions of their learning experience on entry learning. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the learner easily recognized the use of the entry program and the difficulty of learning contents, and the learning satisfaction was high. When students face difficulties, it was found that they received the most help from the hint function provided by the site itself, and they were found to be less aware of the necessity of teachers when learning entry. As a result of the qualitative analysis, it was found that the learner felt a lot of novelty and fun through easy and simple operation. On the other hand, it was found that the learning contents and hints were not understood, which made them difficult and felt that the hint contents were insufficient. It was found that students felt a sense of accomplishment by creating and manipulating programs as they wish.

The purpose of this study is to identify various issues contributing to the current issues of students not wanting to major in science and engineering. and further explore various strategies to encourage their higher education in the science and engineering area. The study administered survey on students' perception towards the science related profession including respondents' gender, grade, their attitude towards woman scientists, perception on the woman scientists, scientists as profession, their level of knowledge on the scientists, and if there is any they respect. The results indicated that overall perceptions on the scientists as career for high school students was positive, but there was more negative acceptance for the juniors since they are more concerned with their majors at the university: higher for students who are in the natural science area than the ones in the social science school since they are more directly related than others. The perception on the woman scientists and girls in the science and engineering majors was positive. However, there were some differences in the response level among the items. Among these, considering the job availability and conditions, the perception was more negative than the others. Also the result indicated that both boys and girls disagree that the science-related profession may be gender-inappropriate for girls due to physical and cognitive characteristics. Results also indicated the level of awareness among scientists, they had higher awareness for male scientists than that of the female, and also international ones than the national ones. The purpose of this study is to examine high school students' perception of male home economics teachers and identify diverse viewpoints. To this end, the Q method was used, which is useful for operant subjectivity studies in which research participants create their own opinions and viewpoints. Based on the general procedures of the Q method, this study finalized 40 statements comprised of the representational system of high school students on male home economics teachers, which are Q samples, from the Q population. The statements were Q-sorted by P samples comprised of 31 high school seniors and analyzed using the QUANL program. The results showed that there were 4 different viewpoints of high school students on male home economics teachers. The type 1 focused on individual traits, claiming that the 'male' gender of home economics teachers and the 'home economics' subject are merely individual traits of the teachers. The type 2 focused on the subject, perceiving male home economics teachers with focus on the subject of home economics. The type 3 focused on competencies, thinking that male home economics teachers have sufficient skills and competencies to teach home economics. Finally, the type 4 focused on character, valuing the character of the teachers and thinking that male home economics teachers are great teachers who took up the challenge of teaching home economics. This study has significance as it provides the basic data for in-depth understanding of students' perception of male home economics teachers in individual context.

The purpose of this study was to examine the students' responses when students were confronted with anomalous situations in physics. 16 students were selected from one middle school in Busan by examining the pre-test results. To measure students' responses and cognitive conflict levels, written Cognitive Conflict Levels Test(CCLT) developed in a previous study was used together with interviews. Students' responses were tape-recorded. Two kinds of anomalous situations were presented. One was a quantitative demonstration with scale, the other was a qualitative demonstration without scale. In the quantitative group, all students observed anomalous situations correctly. However, in the qualitative group, many of their observations of anomalous situations were incorrect. The students who observed anomalous situations based on preconceptions tended not to abandon their preconceptions, and suggested confirmation experiments which were supposedly to support their preconceptions. The students who recognized results very differently from their preconceptions when confronted with anomalous situations abandoned their preconceptions and suggested alternative experiments. The students who changed their beliefs about preconceptions showed higher cognitive conflict levels than who didn't abandon their preconceptions.
This study researched 122 high school students?and 97 chemistry majored teachers?perceptions on evaporation and boiling compared heating and no heating situations. From the results, it was found that the teachers?thoughts of evaporation and boiling depend on the situation were stable, but students?thoughts were depend on the situations. The high school students thought evaporation as boiling on the situation of heating and thought boiling as evaporation on the situation of no heating. These phenomena were related to the explanations of science textbooks. In many textbooks, evaporation concept was explained in the situation of no heating and boiling concept was explained in the situation of heating.
