Purpose : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the timing of puberty and the factors inducing advanced puberty in elemental school students of low grades. Methods : The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade elemental students from the Goyang province were randomly selected, and their sexual maturation rate was assessed by physical examination. After obtaining an informed consent, a questionnaire was administered to the parents; eating habits, lifestyle, use of growth-inducing medication, and present illness of the students were evaluated to determine the factors that induced advanced puberty. The data were statistically analyzed. Results : We selected 170 children and the girls:boys sex ratio was 1.2:1. Two 9-year-old boys were in genital stage 2. Two (14.3%) 6-year-old girls, 6 (19.4%) 7-year-old girls, 15 (39.6%) 8-year-old girls, and 4 (57.1%) 9-year-old girls were in breast stage 2. The average pubertal timing predicted for girls was $9.11{\pm}1.86$ years. The main factors influencing pubertal timing were obesity scale, frequency of eating fast food, and the use of growth-inducing medication. A high rating on the obesity scale and high frequency of eating fast food indicated advanced stage of puberty. Growth-inducing medication induced puberty through obesity. Conclusion : We proposed that predictive average pubertal timing in girls was 9.11${\pm}$1.86 years, which was consistent with the previously reported findings from abroad. The significant influencing factors in advanced puberty were obesity scale and frequency of fast food.

This study examined the effects of irrational beliefs, impulsivity and happiness on problem gambling of Korean and Australian college students. Data were collected from 581 college students of Korea, and 100 college students of Cairns of Australia. As a result, The overall mean of the CPGI was significantly different between Koreans and Australians (t=-29.828**). As for classification of gamblers by sub-type of CPGI, the number of problem gamblers in Australians was 7.0% compared to 5.3% for Koreans, showing a significant difference. In Multiple regression analyses, irrational beliefs, happiness, and the frequency of gambling significantly predicted problem gambling of Koreans (R2 = 0.175 F = 23.441, p < .001). On the other hands, irrational beliefs and the frequency of gambling significantly predicted problem gambling of Australians(R2 = 0.368, F = 10.844, p < .001). Through this study, it was found that the factors affecting the problem gamblers of Korean and Australian are different. It is required to continue further education on gambling among young adults of Korea and Australia.

Humanistic knowledge had positive correlation with cultural competence. Also, the empathy ability was positively correlated with humanistic knowledge and cultural competence. Finally, cultural competence, empathy ability and level of academic score have shown to influence cultural competence. The research founds that humanistic knowledge, empathy ability and level of academic score influenced cultural competence of nursing students. Therefore, this study provides the basic information for improving the curriculum and quality of nursing for nursing students' cultural competency enhancement.
This article presents new perspectives for classification of students' mathematical errors on the basis of experiential structuralism. Experiential structuralism's mechanism gives us new insights on mathematical errors. The hard core of mechanism is consist of 6 autonomous capacity spheres that are responsible for the representation and processing of different reality domains. There are specific forces that are responsible for this organization of mind. There are expressed in terms of a set of five organizational principles. Classification of mathematical errors is ascribed by the theory to the interaction between the 6 autonomous capacity spheres. Different types of classification require different autonomous capacity spheres. We can classify mathematical errors in the domain of linear function problem solving comparing cognitive psychological mechanism of experiential structuralism.
The purpose of this study is to investigate how pre-service secondary mathematics teachers modify mathematical tasks from a textbook and learning opportunities they have during the task modification. In the pursuit of this purpose, tasks was selected from derivative units in a textbook and five pre-service teachers was asked to modify the tasks. The findings from analysis are as follows. First, the cognitive demands of modified tasks were maintained or higher than those of the originals. Pre-service teachers' tendency toward conceptual understanding of derivative seems to make the result. Second, task modification provided a lot of learning opportunities for pre-service teachers. They tried to know intention of curriculum and textbook, realized the importance of predicting students' responses, and had opportunities for cooperation and reflective thinking.

This study was intended to investigate predictability among variables having an effect on problem solving skill and achievement in collaborative learning by utilizing SNS at university. To this end, 61 first-year students majoring in early childhood education at I community university in the national capital region were surveyed. And on the basis of the collected data, a multiple regression analysis was carried out. The results of carrying out the analysis are as follows. First, it was shown that self-efficacy, peer learning and help seeking had a significant effect on problem solving skill, and explained 70 of variability in problem solving skill. Second, it was shown that peek learning, help seeking and problem solving skill significantly predicted achievement, and explained 72% of the variability in achievement. Third, problem solving skill partially mediated the relationship between self-efficacy and achievement. The above-mentioned results imply that learning motivation should be increased so that learners have self-efficacy in order to improve college students' academic achievement in collaborative learning by utilizing SNS at university, and a class environment making it possible to actively provide peer learning and help seeking should be designed and a specific scheme enabling the enhancement of the problem solving skill should be considered.
In this article we studied the role of spreadsheet in teaching function and modeling activity by some examples and students' activity performed by the six 10th graders. We especially focused the role of spreadsheet in understanding of various kinds of functions and the families of functions, and in the explanation of the given modeling problem situations. The functions of automatic copy, graphic and the cell reference of spreadsheet can be used to make students observe the causes and effects of changes of the various kind of mathematical representations of functions such as algebraic formulas, tables and graphs. Especially those functions give students a chance to identify family of functions by changing the parameters and this may lead them to the discovery of mathematical facts. In modeling activities they play a key role in the stages of the analysis of the model, explanation of the results of model and conjecture of the real world situations. As well as they make students find the rules underlying in the real world by making spreadsheet as simulation environments, which are almost impossible to make in paper and pencil environments, and give them a chance to justify their findings using mathematics.

Humanities are as crucial as the technology itself in the intelligent information society. Human-centered convergence information technology (IT), which reflects emotional and human nature, can be considered a unique technology with an optimistic outlook in the unpredictable future. Based on this research background, this paper proposed an education model that can improve the IT humanities capabilities of various learners, including elementary and secondary students, prospective teachers, incumbent teachers, school managers, and the general public, through analysis of previous studies on convergence education models. Furthermore, the practical aspects of the proposed model were closely examined so that the proposed education model could be stably incorporated and utilized in the educational field. There are seven strategies for implementing the education model proposed in this paper, including research on textbooks, teaching and learning materials, activation of research results, maker space creation, global joint research, online education operation, developing living lab governance, and diversification of self-sustaining platforms for sustainable and practical education. In the future, validity verification through expert Delphi is required as a follow-up study.

The aim of this study was to test the correlation of ethical values and perception of biomedical ethics in nursing students. Data was collected from September 10th to October 5th 2012, was analyzed using the t-test, the one-way ANOVA, the Scheffe, the Multiple regression and Pearson's correlation. The average point of consciousness of biomedical ethics was 2.98(${\pm}0.2$). The highest score of 3.27(${\pm}0.5$) was seen in the category of the ethics for 'right to life of the fetus', the lowest score of 2.70(${\pm}0.4$) was seen in the 'organ transplantation'. As a result of analyzing on general and specific aspects, the difference was found in gender and ethical values(F=6.148, p=<.001). In gender, the score of biomedical ethics(r=0.108, p=.003) and ethical values(r=-0.185, p=.002) were showing a positive correlation. The predictors of biomedical ethics was gender(${\beta}$=0.205, t=3.399, p=<.001), the possibility of biomedical ethics problems depend on the development of science (${\beta}$=0.142, t=2.261, p=0.025) and ethical values(${\beta}$=0.189, t=3.119, p=0.002). These results can provide a basic data to enhance the consciousness of biomedical ethics and establish a educational program of biomedical ethics for nursing students.
