The goal of this research was to study the effects of the Mathematical Problem Generating Program on problem solving ability and learning attitude. The experiment was carried out between two classes. One class was applied with the experimental program (treatment group), and the other continued with normal teaching and learning methods (comparative group). In this study, two 5th grade elementary classes participated in Seoul city. In this study, the students were tested their problem solving abilities by the IPSP test and learning attitude by the Korean Education Development Institute (KEDI) before and after use of the program. The collected results were t-tested to find any meaningful changes. The results showed the followings. First, use of the mathematical generating program showed meaningful progressive results in problem solving ability. Second, the students that used the program showed positive results in learning attitude. In conclusion, learning mathematics using the problem generating method helps students deeper understand and solve complex problems. In addition, problem solving abilities can be improved and the attitude towards mathematics can be changed while students are using an active and positive approach in problem solving processes.

Although many studies have investigated the effectiveness of concept mapping and the learning cycle, in Korea none have explored the effectiveness of concept mapping and the learning cycle combined. This study explored the effectiveness of concept mapping, the learning cycle, and a combination of concept mapping/learning cycle(CL) in high school biology class. Students' science achievement, the science related attitudes and scientific inquiry ability was measured. The results indicated that concept mapping, the learning cycle, and CL treatment were significantly different from the traditional one in science achievement(p< .05). However, the three treatments were not significantly different from each other. No significant difference exists among different learnings in high and average-ability students. But, concept mapping was the most effective in low-ability students. For the students' scientific inquiry ability, CL and learning cycle were more effective than concept mapping and traditional learning. No significant difference exists among different learnings in high-ability students. CL and learning cycle were more effective than concept mapping and traditional learning in average and low-ability students. For the students' science related attitudes, concept mapping, the learning cycle, and CL were more effective than the traditional learning. But, there was no significant difference among these three groups.
This study was conducted to serve as a basis for education by identifying the correlation of college admission type, college-life satisfaction and academic achievement of radiologic science students. Data were collected from 2 universities and 2 colleges located in Gyeonggi Provice, North Chungcheong Province, North Gyeongsang Province. A total of 371 questionnaires were collected, 363 of which were included in this study. The results showed that there were no differences in academic achievement according to the type of college admission. It could be able to interpret that since department of radiologic science is popular, students with high academic records applies the department of radiologic science and there are less deviation of academic records among students. A correlation analysis of academic achievement showed learning attitude is a statistically valid factor. Learning attitudes can be changed by exposure to the environment. This will require a variety of program development for improving learning attitudes. In addition, academic achievement of radiologic science students is associated with license acquisition. It need to be made together research on determinants and development of learning method to improve the learning attitude.

In a small-scale class, children gradually lose interests in studying and develop negative and passive attitudes in class activities due to the uniform education. Although many cooperative instruction WBI models are studied and designed, there has not been any research on cooperative instruction model appropriate for a small-scale class. In this study, instructors participate in classes, each in connection with other small-scale classes, and WWW based cooperative instruction model, WIEZ, which can affect students' learning attitude on long-term basis, was designed and embodied. Currently, WIEZ is being under experimental test in three schools at Kyung-nam where instructors design classes, and students divided into groups participate in classes in this system.
The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of students' storytelling on the science learning motivation and science related attitude in elementary science class. We had developed storytelling materials for 11 class hours on the 'Heat transfer and our life' unit based on the analysis of the 4th grade-science curriculum. The research sample was 22 4th graders who were belonged to one of the classes at an elementary school in Gwangju. The test of students' science learning motivation and science related attitude were administered before and after the storytelling treatment, and the difference was checked by the paired t-test using SPSS program. Students' perceptions on the storytelling were also investigated. The conclusions of this research are as follows. First, the students' storytelling tend to have somewhat positive influence on learning motivation. The each mean of post-test in the domain of attention, confidence and satisfaction was significantly higher than that of pre-test. Second, students' storytelling have a positive influence on scientific attitude. Although the means of post-test were higher than those of pre-test in both science subject attitude and scientific attitude domain, a statistically significant difference was found only in the scientific attitude domain. For future researches, the development of more story-materials or strategies for effective storytelling is needed.
In this study, Jigsaw III cooperative learning strategy and traditional learning strategy have been applied to the 'electricity' chapter of grade 8 science textbooks to know the effects of learning strategy, gender, and GPA on the students' science achievement and science learning attitude of middle school female students in gender-separated classes. For this purpose, 143 students of 4 classes in separated classes were chosen from a middle school in Daegu. One female class and one male class were assigned to the experimental group and other female class and male class were assigned to the control group. Traditional learning strategy was applied to the control group and the Jigsaw III cooperative learning strategy was applied to the experimental group. Four worksheets for expert groups were used for 18 hours through 5 weeks. Both tests for science achievement and learning attitude were administered as pre and post test. The test results were analyzed through analysis of covariance(ANCOVA) as pre test score as covariant The overall conclusions of this study were as follows: The Jigsaw III cooperative learning has improved science achievement, especially on subjective-type questions, of female students and mid-lower level students. The Jigsaw III Cooperative Learning has also improved self-directed attitude toward science learning. Female students have expressed more positive opinion about the Jigsaw III cooperative learning.

In a 7th graders' cooperative science class, verbal behaviors were categorized and their relationships with the improvement of learning strategies used. motivation, and attitudes were investigated. Students' perceptions of cooperative learning were also studied by the achievement level. Verbal behaviors in cooperative learning were positively related with the improvement of monitoring and organization strategies used, self-efficacy, and attitude toward science class. In the analyses of students' perceptions of cooperative learning, medium- and low-achieving students had positive perceptions but some high-achieving students had negative ones. In the aspect of effectiveness of cooperative learning, especially, medium- and low-achieving students perceived that they could learn more and better due to verbal interactions with peers. To be contrary, high-achieving students perceived that they learned less and superficially.
In this study, we develop the mathematical modeling teaching materials focused function units of mathematics textbooks and establish the appropriate teaching and learning model. Using mathematical modeling materials and developed instructional materials for teaching high school students is aimed to improve the academic achievement, mathematical attitude and fear. The problem of this study is as follows : First, between the groups using mathematical modeling and a traditional textbook teaching academic achievement groups showed that there is a difference? Second, between the groups using mathematical modeling and a traditional textbook teaching mathematics between groups showed that there is a difference of mathematical attitude and fear? Third, what are the lessons for the students' responses using mathematical modeling?
