A Sense of Self-identity in Elementary School Children of Multi-cultural Families: The relations between the Maternal Mother's Behaviors and the Children's School Satisfaction (다문화가정 초등학교 아동의 자아정체감 연구: 어머니 양육행동과 학교생활만족도와의 관계를 중심으로)

  • This study had a purpose to present a comprehensive grasp of the variables that influence a sense of self-identity in children of multi-cultural families. The participants were 310 elementary school children from the fourth to sixth grades and who were currently enrolled in North Jeolla Province. The results were as follows. First, no significant difference was found for a sense of self-identity according to the children's gender. But a significant difference was found according to the nationality of the mothers. Second, the boys' self-identity was affected by mother's rejection of discipline/reprimand behaviors and the girls' self-identity was affected by school satisfaction. Last, children's selfidentity was affected by the mother's nationality(Japan, China, and Philippine).

The Influences of Conflict with Parents, Peer Relationship, and School Adaptation of Adolescents from Multicultural Families and their Satisfaction with Life : The Mediating Effects of Self-Esteem (다문화가정 청소년의 부모자녀갈등, 또래관계, 학교생활적응이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향 : 자아존중감의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate if self-esteem mediates the effects of conflict with parents, peer relationship and school adaptation in relation to the satisfaction with life of adolescents in multicultural families. The subjects of the present study are 152 adolescents of multicultural families ranging from 12-16 years of age from the cities of Seoul, and Daegu, and the provinces of Gyeong-gi, and Gyeong-buk, South Korea. The measured constructs are Conflict with Parents, Friendship, School Adaption, Self- Esteem and Satisfaction with Life Scale. The dates were analyzed using path analysis. The major results of this study demonstrate that self-esteem does not mediate the effects of conflict with parents and peer relationship in relation to the satisfaction with life of adolescents in multicultural families. However, self-esteem does mediate the effects of school adaptation in relation to the satisfaction with life of adolescents in multicultural families.

Effects of Depression and Daily Stress on Female High School Students's Resourcefulness (여고생의 우울과 일상적 스트레스가 자원동원성에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate depression, daily stress and resourcefulness in female high school students and to identify variables influencing resourcefulness. Data were collected 152 female high school students. Data were treated statistics using ANOVA, t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, Scheffe's test and Stepwise Regression Analysis. The mean score of depression was 7.29±8.38. There was statistically significant difference in depression on factors such as relationship with parental rearing attitudes, school fellow, satisfaction of school life. The mean score of daily stress was 105.88±19.63. There were statistically significant difference in daily stress on variables such as relationship with school fellow, parental rearing attitudes. The mean score of resourcefulness was 21.68±33.50. There was statistically significant difference in resourcefulness on factors such as academic achievement, satisfaction of school life. Resourcefulness was negatively correlated with depression and daily stress. Depression was positively correlated with daily stress. Factor influencing resourcefulness were daily stress, academic achievement, which explained 35.7%. Further researches with careful sampling will be needed to reinforce the resourcefulness of high school students.

Effect of Life Stress on the Sleeping Disorder of University Student (대학생의 생활 스트레스가 수면장애에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to clarify the effect of sleeping disorder on the life stress of the university student on the side of cooking for himself, housing noise, dissatisfaction in school life, ill health, problem in future and a sense of values. A self-boarding student apart from a family (p<.042) had a higher sleeping stress. Noise of housing environment (p<.002), life dissatisfaction in university (p<.007), ill health (p<.010), life stress (p<.004) led to a more sleeping stress. Both gloomy prospects (p<.002) and a sense of values (p<.001) disturbed a university man's sleep. Cooking food for oneself, housing noise, displeasure in university life, ill health, gloomy prospects and a sense of values gave risen to the university student's sleeping disorder.

Affecting Factors on the Living Satisfaction Degree in University Dormitory's Service: Focusing on the Foreign Students of "G" University (대학교 기숙사 생활 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인: G대학 외국인 학생을 중심으로)

  • Government and many universities have been trying to get the more international students. Foreign students in university are increasing remarkably in Korea. So these authorities have to consider their service competency for new foreign student's living satisfaction. In this paper, we described about the living satisfaction degree on the university dormitory's service in Korea. After reviewing and summarizing the related literatures, our hypotheses are established which the satisfaction be affected by some service factors such as facility, foods, and noise factors in university dormitory's environments. The 99 Chinese students living in G-university dormitory responded to our study. Empirical analysis was performed among a university in Sungnam city named as G-university by using questionnaires sheets. Analysis results are show that satisfaction degree on the university dormitory's service is affected significantly by facility and foods service factors respectively. However noise factor was not the significant variable.

Time Use and Satisfaction Levels of Elementary School Students on Jeju Island (제주도 초등학교 학생의 생활시간 사용 및 만족도)

  • This study has attempted to investigate the time use of the elementary school students and their satisfaction levels by their general characteristics for the educational guidance. The sample of this study consisted of 387 elementary school students on Jeju Island who are in the fifth or sixth year. The data were analysed by frequency, percentage, mean, t-test, ANOVA and Duncan's test. The major results of this study were as follows; The results of this study showed that the students spent much time for studying including extra programs as like their ages. Also, their leisure time focused on watching TV or doing computer. The levels of satisfaction according to the time use were slightly high although their time allocation was not various. The time use of the students and their satisfaction levels were significantly affected by the general family situation related to parents as well as their own characteristics. The variables such as the student's sex, parent's educational level, whether the mother is employed or not, and monthly allowance were important to result in the differences of the time use and satisfaction levels among the students. The leisure time was strongly related with the satisfaction levels.

  • The purpose of this study was to conduct the instruction for 'Family Life Planning' based on backward design and measured the learners' understanding and satisfaction for testing validity. In short, the result of this study are as follows: In this study, first of all, the students could explain significant concepts, knowledge, and principles for the planning of family life; they could interpret and apply them; they have perspectives on them; they could empathize them; and they could have self-knowledge. The students could also accomplish high achievements for important concepts related to the field of family life planning. In conclusion, this study showed that the developed instruction was very effective for the students to achieve fruitful results, accelerating the learners' persistent understanding. Second, the learners had high satisfaction on the instruction of Family Life Planning based on backward design with the average score of 3.68 out of the perfect score 4. The students could be satisfied with the developed instruction since they could have high interest in the class thanks to diverse learning materials, and they could take an active part in the learning tasks based on group activities and questions. Also they could apply the contents that they learned through task performances to new situation and context. Therefore, this study proved that the developed instruction enhanced the learners' satisfaction on class.

The Effect of College Festival Participants' Experience on Festival Satisfaction, Re-participation and Peer Relation Enhancement: Focusing on College Life Participation (대학축제체험이 축제만족, 재참가의도, 교우관계에 미치는 영향: 대학생활 참여정도를 중심으로)

  • This research aimed to verify possibly expanding college festival's performance to ordinary life. College festivals have consolidated student communities and created college culture. Recently, the festivals have been challenged for commercialization such as celebrity concert and company sponsorship. College festival is a text, which is based on ordinary college life and should served a role to restore college life. Pine & Gilmore's experience model was used to find that quality festival experience leads to satisfaction and satisfaction enhance peer relations. More participate school life, the better experience the festival program. Total 195 of questionnaires were administered to college festival participants and coding data were analyzed by regression and t test. Result found that College festival experience significantly affects festival satisfaction(H1), festival satisfaction affect re-participation(H2) and peer relations(H3). High level of school life participation group showed significant differences in festival experience and other variables in compare with low level group(H4). Theoretical /practical significances and research limitation were included.

Influence of Work-Family Conflict on Family and Job Satisfaction of Working Mothers :Focused on the Moderating Effect of Family-Friendly Benefit (영유아와 초등학생 자녀를 둔 여성 근로자의 직장-가정 갈등이 가정 및 직장생활만족에 미치는 영향 :가족친화제도의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the availability of family-friendly systems for female workers with children under elementary school, and to verify that the availability of family-friendly systems can mitigate the negative effects of workplace-home conflicts on family and work-life satisfaction. To this end, data of 538 female employees with children younger than elementary school students were analyzed using the sixth data of the Korean Women Manager Panel. According to the analysis, the type of family-friendly system such as time flexibility system, career flexibility system, and worker support system all showed significant adjustment effect in relation to workplace-family conflict and work life satisfaction. The career flexibility system was the only one that showed a control effect on family life satisfaction. To help talented female workers work for their children without severing their careers, the government proposed active support for businesses and the government to help them use the family-friendly system.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide students with basic information about the stress of the national examination and the stress of the students who have difficulties in school life and the development of counseling and education program for satisfactory academic life. The survey of the 213 students of dental hygiene departments in Chungcheong, Gyungsang region was carried out. As a result of SPSS 3.0 analysis, the index of happiness Satisfaction was the highest points. Happiness index showed statistically significant difference in gender, personality, friendship, academic achievement, pocket money satisfaction, and health status. There was statistically significant difference between the major and the major in satisfaction, personality, friendship, motivation, and power status, and happiness index and major satisfaction were statistically significant.
