  • The purpose of the study is to see how the bibliotherapy program has an effect on the improvement of a junior high school student's career maturity degree, and how it can be applied to students for developmental and collective approach. In this experiment, bibliotherapy program was progressed 11 times for 60 minutes to twenty second grade students of W junior high school in Kyeonggi-Do. There are two groups: one is the control group, and the other experiment group. In order to verify the effect of a bibliotherapy program a correspondence specimen t-test analysis was used. The degree of youth's course maturity has been checked to see if there is any difference between the preliminary inspection and the post inspection for both the experiment group and the control group. Moreover, ANCOVA was applied in order to grasp if there is any difference between the experiment group and the control group to the post mark.

  • This study aims to find methods to improve the scientific literacy of the youth, which comprise the group who will lead the upcoming era of knowledge and science. To do this, the study focuses on improving the youth's understanding of science and their ability to utilize it. It is widely recognized that scientific literacy Is highly essential in this era of scientific revolution and innovations. Accordingly, various kinds of programs are being developed in Korea and other countries. In particular, 'Project 2061' is designed to enable a permanent learning system by improving problem-solving ability through the scientific process. This system plays an Important role In supporting the Americans' Pursuit of Increased literacy in the fields of science, mathematics, and engineering. To improve the scientific literacy of young people, content development in relation with school courses as well as information services that arouse Interest and curiosity In the field of science is very important. In addition, It is necessary to develop a problem-solving program by stages. Further studies focusing on methods of improving scientific literacy of the youth are recommended.

  • This study intends to implement a OPAC prototype for digital kids. To the end, this study applies prototyping techniques that design, evaluate and improve an early sample model. Included in this study are as follows: (1) design a conceptual model of new OPACs based on the information need analysis of digital kids, (2) implement a OPAC prototype with WordPress 4.2 version, (3) evaluate the prototype OPAC from the viewpoint of digital kids and children librarians, and finally, (4) suggest the improved model and implementational strategies for kid's OPAC. 6 fourth and fifth graders in the elementary school and 5 children librarians in public libraries participate in the final evaluation process.

For this, a semi-structured interviews were carried out with teacher librarians and elementary school teachers and elementary students in five elementary schools. The results were as follows: Students and Teachers divided standard and attribute for assessing reading attitudes as student's ability, personality and behavioral aspects towards reading. Students were aware of the necessity of reading and accepted a pleasant feeling of reading. However, group of students with low reading skill recognized reading as an academic purpose as compared to other student groups and expressed a negative feeling on reading. Peers, teachers and family members were recognized as figures who make an impact on reading by students and further considered the subject, content and physical attribute of book as important factors. Teachers recognized reading attitude as a concept on attitude about book and book reading. Further they mentioned reading environment, interests, habits, books, and experience as factors affect reading attitude.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide an in-depth analysis on the publication patterns of the 1,029 journal articles by the Life Sciences' faculty at the K University, for the years 2004-2017 and to investigate any difference between their publication patterns and the citedness for the years 2004-2018. Among the three funding agency types, the research publications supported by foreign funding received the more citations than publications by other types of funding, and the study also found a statistical difference in the citedness (F = 10.467, p < .000***). In addition, the internationally co-authored publications received more citations than three other types of co-authored publications in terms of the immediacy index per publication and the average citations per publication.

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between personal traits and information behavior theoretically. Personal traits are often represented by "major type of personality found in an ethnic group or society" and measured by both degrees of affection and dependency in this study. In turn, information behavior is used to include unique features in information needs, information seeking, information source preference, and information searching pattern in library and internet. The data was collected through a survey with 162 college freshmen, and analyzed for both frequency test and Chi-square test. The major research result shows that dependency rather than affection has a statistically meaningful relation with information behavior, in particular, information needs and source preference. Also made are several methodological suggestions for further research.

Bloom created the original taxonomy of the cognitive, affective, psychomotor domain for categorizing level of abstraction of questions that commonly occur in educational settings in 1956. During the 1990, Anderson & Krathwohl, Marzano led a new educational taxonomy which met for the purpose of updating the Bloom's taxonomy, hoping to add relevance for 21st century teaching and learning. The educational taxonomy with information literacy process is relationship. The purpose of this study is restructure of information literacy process based on educational object taxonomy.

  • In spite of the strong request that Internet, a new IT technique, should be extensively used in classroom settings, WBI is not still wide spread. One possible reason is that most WBIs developed so far are not qualitatively different from the traditional classroom ones and various design models for WBI are unknown. Developing a WBI program according to Goal-based Scenarios (GBS), a constructivistic instructional design model, this study offers a useful case for the design and development of WBI to educators and implementers. The program developed embodied seven important components of the GBS model. The development process also included needs assessment, task analysis, and learner and environment analysis, which are the basic components of the domain of instructional design. The GBS development case in this article will provide concrete guidelines to educational practitioners who have an intention to create a new type of WBI in schools as well as in corporate.
