  • A simplified safety assessment is carried out on rock-cavern type disposal of LLW using the analytical repository source term (REPS) model. For reliable prediction of the leach rates for various radionuclides, degradation of concrete structures, corrosion rate of waste container, degree of corrosion on the container surface, and the characteristics of radionuclides are considered in the REPS model. The results of preliminary assessment show that Cs-137, Ni-63, and Sr-90 are dominant. For the parametric uncertainty and sensitivity analysis, Latin hypercube sampling technique and rank correlation technique are applied. The results of the potential public health impacts show that radiological dose to intruder in the worst case scenario will be negligible and that more attention should be given to near-field performance.

  • This paper provides a new approach for predicting the corrosion resistivity of reinforced concrete structures exposed to chloride attack. In this method, the prediction can be updated successively by a Bayesian theory when additional data are available. The stochastic properties of model parameters are explicitly taken into account into the model. To simplify the procedure of the model, the probability of the durability limit is determined from the samples obtained from the Latin hypercube sampling technique. The new method may be very useful in designing important concrete structures and help to predict the remaining service life of existing concrete structures which have been monitored.

  • Matrix-star and Half-Pancake graphs are modified versions of Star graphs, and has some good characteristics such as node symmetry and fault tolerance. This paper analyzes embedding between Matrix-star and Half-Pancake graphs. As a result, Matrix-star graphs $MS_{2,n}$ can be embedded into Half-Pancake graphs $HP_{2n}$ with dilation 5 and expansion 1. Also, Half Pancake Graphs, $HP_{2n}$ can be embedded into Matrix Star Graphs, $MS_{2,n}$ with the expansion cost, O(n). This result shows that algorithms developed from Star Graphs can be applied at Half Pancake Graphs with additional constant cost because Star Graphs, $S_n$ is a part graph of Matrix Star Graphs, $MS_{2,n}$.

  • This paper presents the problem of partitioning the Single-Stage Shuffle-Exchange Network(SSEN). An algorithm, named SSEN_to_PSEN, is devised to transform an SSEN into a Partitionable Shuffle-Exchange Network (PSEN). The proposed algorithm presents that the SSEN can be partitioned into independent sub-networks without additional links for N $\leq$ 8. Additional links are needed in order to partition an SSEN, but only when N $\geq$ 16. The running time of the algorithm SSEN_to_PSEN is $\theta$(NlogN). By comparing with a hypercube network, the PSEN is less expensive than a hypercube network even when some additional links are added. By partitioning, a large PSEN in a massively parallel machine can compute various problems for multiple users simultaneously, thereby the processing efficiency of the machine is improved.

  • The Pyramid-Technique is based on mapping n-dimensional space data into one-dimensional data and expressing it as B-tree ; and by solving the problem of search time complexity the pyramid technique also prevents the effect \"phenomenon of dimensional curse\" which is caused by treatment of hypercube range query in n-dimensional data space. The Spherical Pyramid-Technique applies the pyramid method’s space division strategy, uses spherical range query and improves the search performance to make it suitable for similarity search. However, depending on the size of data and change in dimensions, the two above technique demonstrate significantly inferior search performance for data sizes greater than one million and dimensions greater than sixteen. In this paper, we propose a new index-structured PdR-Tree to improve the search performance for high dimensional data such as multimedia data. Test results using simulation data as well as real data demonstrate that PdR-Tree surpasses both the Pyramid-Technique and Spherical Pyramid-Technique in terms of search performance.

  • Star graph is a well-known interconnection network to further improve the network cost of Hypercube and has good properties such as node symmetry, maximal fault tolerance and strongly hierarchical property. In this study, we will suggest embedding scheme among star graph and pancake graph, bubblesort graph, which are variations of star graph. We will show that bubblesort graph can be embedded into pancake and star graph with dilation 3, expansion 1, respectively and pancake graph can be embedded into bubblesort graph with dilation cost O($n^2$). Additionally, we will show that star graph can be embedded into pancake graph with dilation 4, expansion 1. Also, with dilation cost O(n) we will prove that star graph can be embedded into bubblesort graph and pancake graph can be embedded into star graph.

  • One key obstacle which has been identified in achieving parallel processing is to communicate effectively between processors during execution. One approach to achieving an optimal delay time is to use expander graph. The networks and algorithms which are based on expander graphs are successfully exploited to yield fast parallel algorithms and efficient design. The AKS sorting algorithm in time O(logN) which is an important result is based on the use of expanders. The expander graph also can be applied to construct a concentrator and a superconcentrator. Since Margulis found a way to construct an explicit linear expander graph, several expander graphs have been developed. But the proof of existence of such graphs is in fact provided by a nonconstructive argument. We investigate the expander network on the hypercube network. We prove the expansion of a sin81e stage hypercube network and extend this from a single stage to multistage networks. The results in this paper provide a theoretical analysis of expansion in the hypercube network.

  • Matrix-star, Pancake, and RFM graphs have such a good property of Star graph and a lower network cost than Hypercube. Matrix-star graph has Star graph as a basic module and the node symmetry, the maximum fault tolerance, and the hierarchical decomposition property. Also it is an interconnection network that improves the network cost against Star graph. In this paper, we propose a method to embed among Matrix-star Pancake, and RFM graphs using the edge definition of graphs. We prove that Matrix-star $MS_{2,n}$ can be embedded into Pancake $P_{2n}$ with dilation 4, expansion 1, and $RFM_{n}$ graphs can be embedded into Pancake $P_{n}$ with dilation 2. Also, we show that Matrix-star $MS_{2,n}$ can be embedded into the $RFM_{2n}$ with average dilation 3.

  • This paper introduces the Parallel Advanced Loosely coupled Multiprocessor (PALM) architecture, which is based on HCH(m,p), where m is number of links per a communication processor (CP) and p is the number of application processors (APs) connected to the CP. communication links between a pair of CPs and/or between a CP and an AP, are made of dual-Port RAMs, which provide fast and reliable word-parallel communication between processors. Among the wide spectrum of HCH networks, HCH(m,2) is also known to be a cost optimal topology, such that HCH(m,2) consists of the largest number of APs retaining the minimal number of CPs and communication links. We also implement a testbed based on HCH(2,2). The experiment result shows that the small communication/computation ratio of the PALM system would realize fine-grain parallelism on message-passing MIMD systems.

  • LMTT (Linear Motor-based Transfer Techn-ology) is a horizontal transfer system for the yard automation This system is based on PMLSM (Permanent Magnetic Linear Synchronous Motor) toot consists of stator modules on the rail and shuttle car. In this research, the kriging interpolation method with sequential sampling find the optimum design of mover in LMTT. The design variables are considered as the transverse, longitudinal and wheel beam's thicknesses. The objective function is set up as weight, while the constant function are set up as the stresses generated by four loading conditions. The objective function is set up as weight. The optimum results obtained by the suggested method are compared with those by the GENESIS.
