AGV Dispatching with Stochastic Simulation (확률적 시뮬레이션 기반 AGV 배차)

  • In an automated container terminal, various factors affect the operation of container handling equipment such as quay cranes and AGVs, and thus calculating the exact operation time is nearly infeasible. This uncertainty makes it difficult to dispatch AGVs well. In this paper, we propose a simulation-based AGV dispatching algorithm When dispatching an AGV to an operation, the proposed algorithm conducts multiple stochastic simulation for the succeeding AGV operations for the predetermined period to collect stochastic samples of the result of the dispatching. In the stochastic simulation, the uncertainty of crane operations is represented as a simple probability distribution and the operation time of a crane is determined according to this. A dispatching option is evaluated by the total delay time of quay cranes which is estimated by averaging the quay crane delay of each simulation In order to collect a sufficient number of samples that guarantee the credibility of the evaluation, we devised a high-speed simulator that simulates AGV operation The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is validated by simulation experiments.

Strategies to Attract Transshipment Container Cargos from/to China by Korea Ports (우리나라 항만의 대중국 환적화물 유치방안에 관한 연구)

  • Rapid growth rate of container traffic in China has caused the fierce competition to attract Trans-shipment Container Cargos from/to China among competitive ports in Asia. Therefore, this paper aims to suggest some strategies to attract them from/to China by Korea ports. To do so, it evaluates the preference of important ports in the competitive situation and the competitiveness of important ports in Asia, and finally proposes the relative order of important factors. Based on the evaluation of it, Both the Pusan and the Kwangyang ports have to strengthen port facility to attract move traffic and in detail, reinforce the number of berth, yard areas and handling equipment. they also have to provide high qualify of services to deliver cargos in time. not being damaged and swiftly response to shipowner and shipper's claim.

A Study on the Relationship Between Berth Occupancy Rate and Ship Size at Exclusive Bulk Terminal (Bulk 부두의 선박 대형화에 따른 선석별 점유율 비교 분석 - P제철 원료부두를 중심으로 -)

  • The aim of study is to analyze the berth occupancy rate according to the ship size. P Iron and steel company operate exclusive bulk terminal at P port and G port and the depth of water at berth are not so equal each other. And to reduce the sea transport cost between loading port and unloading port P and G, P company increases the number of large ship while ship scheduling. But it causes to increase the berth congestion at the specific water depth berth owing to the draught of large ship. At this point, usually ship waiting time starts to rise even at low levels of berth occupancy rate, and will rise more and more sharply at the level of full utilization. But it is not common at exclusive terminal like P port and G port. Bulk ships arrive at port according to the early planned arrival time and the coefficient of variation of ship arrival time is not so big. So queueing time at exclusive terminal does not rise sharply near 80-90 berth occupancy rate.

  • In order to mitigate the overcapacity of Busan port, Busan new port has been developed as transshipment port which is capable of handling 8,000 TEU containership. Generally, design of transshipment port has to reflect the capacity of feeder because both mother vessels and feeders enter the planned port at the same time. However, the existing plan of Busan new port capacity needs to be reexamined since the adopted capacity of each berth at new port, 300,000 TEU, does not seem to be enough to handle both mother vessels and feeders. Therefore, in this study we calculated the required number of berth and berth length by considering cargo handling capacity in terms of the ship size and this study makes some implications in relation with the terminal development plan.

  • This paper deals with energy storage system for saving the energy of RTGC(rubber tired gantry crane). Advantage and disadvantage of battery, super-capacitor, and flywheel as an energy storage system were surveyed. Even if a flywheel energy storage system includes some problems such as manufacturing technique and high price, it is surveyed with a promising energy storage system In addition, RTGCs using battery or flywheel as the energy storage system were quantitatively presented through a survey of literatures. It was found that the both RTGC with those systems can reduced the waste of energy.

  • LMTT(Linear Motor based Transfer Technology) is a new type of transfer system used in the maritime container terminal fur the port automation, and largely consists of a controller, shuttle car, and rail. The shuttle car is divided into the frame part, the driving part, and wheels. In order to design this system, various researches on each part of it must be conducted. In this study, we dealt with the optimum design for the frame part of the shuttle car designed from previous studies on the strength of the frame with respect to the number of cross beams to minimize the weight of the shuttle car and to satisfy design criteria of cargo-handling systems in container terminal. For the optimization of the frame, thicknesses of each beam were adopted as design variables, the weight of the frame as objective function, and stress and deflection per unit length as constraint condition.

  • 본 논문에서는 해저케이블 부두 하역용 장비인 코일링 암(coiling arm)에 대한 구조설계 및 해석을 수행하였다. 본 연구에서는 구조설계를 위해 3차원 CAD프로그램을 이용하여 모델링하였고 구조해석 프로그램을 이용하여 유한요소법에 기초한 전산해석 기법으로 해석을 수행하였다. 코일링 암의 목적에 맞추어 케이블을 케이블 탱크에 가이드 할 수 있도록 베어링 및 롤러를 설계하여 메인 암이 회전하고 케이블 가이드가 이동할 수 있도록 하였고, 기존의 외국 모델에서 사용하던 와이어 및 모터 시스템을 이용한 케이블 가이드 작동방식을 유압 시스템을 이용한 작동방식으로 변경하여 설계 및 제작이 쉽고 사용자가 직관적으로 작동할 수 있도록 설계하였다. 자중 및 케이블 하중에 대한 응력 해석을 수행하였고, 유압시스템에 의한 파손 가능성을 고려하였다. 케이블 가이드에 이동 및 지면 경사도에 따른 전복해석을 수행하였으며, 설치 장소를 고려한 풍하중 효과도 추가로 고려하였다. 본 연구를 통해 코일링 암의 작동방식을 개선하였으며 설계 및 해석 방법을 확립과 더불어 국내 최초로 실제 코일링 암을 제작 및 설치하였다.

  • According to the development of marine transportation business and the modernization and over sizing of vessel transportation equipment. shipping equipment used in the terminal are getting more atomized and speedier. thus the efficiency of shipping and discharging depends upon the degree of practice of terminal operating manpower. It means that cultivation of experts in this field is essentially needed and it is becoming a serious problem to guarantee the training programs to provide high-class. high-skilled manpower. The best result can be expected when we use the real equipment for training purposes. but it will cause many difficulties such as budget problem. To overcome this situation. we developed the Virtual Container Crane Simulator(VCCS System) which enables the operator to learn the operation of the equipment as well as safety problems within a short time. VCCS system begins with establishing the direction of operation by setting the appropriate motions for each step. and then it instructs the basic operation. It enhances the driver's ability to cope with accidents during operation and completes and completes the mastery of operating techniques with The repetition of practice.

  • As the rapid increase of the container trade, most of the container terminals strive to improve the container handling productivity. Therefore, they consider to find efficient operating strategies and to introduce new container handling facilities. In terms of equipment, there are a variety of types of quay cranes. Single-lift crane operates only one container regardless of size and twin-lift crane operates two 20' containers or one 40' container simultaneously. Tandem crane, recently introduced, can operate four 20' containers or two 40' containers simultaneously. In this paper, we propose the mathematical model and the solution procedure of the ship loading scheduling problem for the tandem crane.
