Synthesis of CuO nanoparticles by liquid phase precursor process (액상프리커서법에 의한 산화구리(CuO) 나노 입자의 합성)

  • Copper oxide (CuO) nanoparticles were successfully synthesized using a precursor in which industrial starch was impregnated with an aqueous solution of copper (II) nitrate trihydrate. The microstructure of the precursor impregnated with an aqueous solution of copper nitrate trihydrate was confirmed with a scanning electron microscope (SEM), and the particle size and the crystal structure of the copper oxide particles produced as the temperature of the heat treatment of the precursor increased was analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the scanning electron microscope (SEM). As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the temperature at which the organic matter of the precursor is completely thermally decomposed is 450-490℃, and that the size and crystallinity of the copper oxide particles increased as the heat treatment temperature increased. The size of the copper oxide particles obtained through heat treatment at 500-800℃ during 1 hour was 100nm~2㎛. It was confirmed that the copper oxide crystalline phase is formed at a heat treatment temperature of 400℃, and only the copper oxide single phase existed up to 800℃. And it was also confirmed that the size of particles produced increased as the calcination temperature increased.

  • 핵융합의 고체형 증식(Helium Cooled Solid Breeder : HCSB) 블랑켓(Blanket Module)은 삼중수소 증식을 위해서 Li4SiO4, Li2TiO3, Li2O 및 Li2ZrO3 등의 페블이 고려되고 있다. 이러한 페블을 제조하기 위해서는 먼저 각각의 분말 제조가 선행되어야 한다. 한국의 Test Blanket Module(TBM)은 Li4SiO4 페블을 개발을 개발하여 사용할 예정이고 옵션으로 Li2TiO3 페블을 개발하는 것으로 되어 있다. Li4SiO4 페블을 개발하기 위해서 먼저 분말합성이 필수적이다. Li4SiO4 분말을 합성에 하기 위해서는 Lithium 금속염과 실리카 졸을 용매 및 폴리머 캐리어로서의 두 가지 기능을 하는 에틸렌글리콜에 첨가한 후 가열하여 완전히 용해시킨 후 혼합 용액을 건조시켜 겔형의 전구체를 제조한다. 이를 하소한 후 결정화시켜 Silicate 분말을 얻는데 이때의 건조, 하소 및 결정화 온도의 조건에 따른 분말의 크기 및 특성이 각각 다르다. 즉, 바인더 물질의 비율과 합성온도에 따라 특성이 약간씩 다른 분말을 얻을 수 있었다. 이렇게 얻어진 Silicate 분말은 지르코니아 볼을 이용하여 약 24 시간 동안 볼 밀링 과정을 통해 입도가 작은 미세한 Silicate 분말로 만들었다. 합성된 분말은 여러 가지 시험 및 분석을 통해서 검증되었으며, 불순물 등은 관찰되지 않았다.

  • The (1-x)MgTiO$_3$-xSrTiO$_3$(x=0,0.1) ceramics were prepared by the conventional mixed oxide method. The structural properties were investigated with sintering temperature and composition ratio by XRD, SEM and DT-TGA. Increasing the sintering temperature from 130$0^{\circ}C$ to 1$600^{\circ}C$, second phase was decreased and grain size was increased. In the case of 0.9 MgTiO$_3$-0.1SrTiO$_3$ ceramics sintered at 130$0^{\circ}C$, dielectric constant, quality factor and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency were 22.61, 10,928(at 1GHz), +50.26ppm/$^{\circ}C$ , respectively.

  • 기계적 에너지를 전기적 에너지로 변환하는 에너지 변환소자인 압전 세라믹스는 액추에이터, 변압기, 초음파모터, 초음파 소자 및 각종 센서로 응용되고 있으며, 그 응용분야는 크게 증가하고 있다. 최근에는 이러한 압전 소자를 앞으로 도래하는 ubiquitous, 무선 모바일 시대의 휴대용 전자제품, robotics, MEMS 분야 등의 대체 에너지원으로 응용하기 위한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 특히 인간의 걷기 운동 등과 같은 일상적인 동작으로 필요한 전력을 얻을 수 있고, 세라믹 소자를 이용하기 때문에 전자노이즈가 발생되지 않을 뿐 아니라 반영구적으로 사용할 수 가 있어서, 기존 이차전지를 대체 또는 보완 할 수 있는 방안도 검토되고 있다. PZT계 세라믹스는 높은 유전상수와 우수한 압전특성으로 전자세라믹스 분야에서 가장 널리 사용되어지고 있지만 $1200^{\circ}C$ 이상의 높은 소결온도 때문에 $1000^{\circ}C$ 부근에서 급격히 휘발되는 PbO로 인한 환경오염과 기본조성의 변화로 인한 압전 특성의 저하가 문제시 되고 있다. 또한 적층 세라믹스의 제작 시 구조적 특성상 내부전극이 도포된 상태에서 동시 소결이 필요한데, 융점이 낮은 Ag전극 대신 값비싼 Pd나 Pt가 다량 함유된 Ag/Pd, Ag/Pt 전극이 사용되고 있어 경제성이 떨어지는 단점을 갖게 된다. 순수 Ag 전극을 사용하거나 Ag의 비율이 높은 내부전극을 사용하기 위해서는 $900^{\circ}C$ 이하에서 소결되고 우수한 전기적 특성을 보이는 압전 세라믹스를 개발 하는 것이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 압전특성이 우수한 $(Pb_{1-x}Cd_x)(Ni_{1/3}/Nb_{2/3})_{0.25}(Zr_{0.35}/Ti_{0.4})O_3$ 계의 조성을 설계하고, 소걸온도를 낮추기 위해서 2 단계 하소법을 이용하였다. 또한 $MnCO_3$, $SiO_2$, $Pb_3O_4$ 등을 소량 첨가하여 액상 소결 특성을 부여하여 소결 온도를 감소시키려는 시도도 하였다. 분말을 볼 밀링 (ball milling)을 통해 24시간 동안 혼합하고, 혼합된 분말은 $800^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 동안 하소하였다. 하소한 분말을 다시 72시간 동안 볼 밀링 하여 최종 분말을 얻었다. 최종 분말에 PVB를 첨가하여 직경 15mm의 디스크 형태로 성형한 후, 850~$975^{\circ}C$ 범위에서 온도를 변화시키면서 소결을 하였다. 최종 분말 및 소결된 시편을 XRD분석을 통하여 상을 확인하였고, SEM을 이용하여 미세조직을 관찰 하였다. 전기적 특성을 평가하기 위하여 두께를 1mm로 연마한 시편에 Ag 전극을 도포하여 $650^{\circ}C$에서 열처리한 후, 분극처리 하였다. 압전특성은 $d_{33}$-meter로 측정하였고, impedance analyzer를 이용하여 압전 특성 (전기기계결합계수 및 기계적품질계수)을 측정 하였다. 또한 강유전체 특성 평가 장치 (Precision-LC)를 이용하여 분극-전계 특성을 평가하였다. 이상의 연구를 통하여 소결 온도가 $900^{\circ}C$인 경우에서도 양호한 압전 특성을 확보 할 수 있었다.

  • Cobalt oxide (Co3O4·CoO) ultra fine particles were synthesized by liquid phase precursor method. cobalt(II) chloride hexahydrate (CoCl2·6H2O) was as a starting material. A plant-derived crystalline cellulose was used as impregnating materials. A impregnated precursor was calcined at a temperature of 350 to 900℃ to obtain cobalt oxide particles having a particle size of 1 to 10㎛. The crystallization process and morphology according to the calcination temperature were examined, and the properties of the synthesized powder were evaluated using SEM and XRD. It was confirmed that a crystal phase of Co3O4 began to form around 350℃ and crystal growth occurred up to 900℃. At a temperature above 500℃, the Co3O4 crystal was changed to another crystal phase CoO.

Effect of Calcining Temperature on Planr Coupling Factor and Resonance Characteristics of PZT (하소온도가 PZT의 Kp와 공진특성에 미치는 영향)

  • The effect of calcining temperature on planar coupling factor Kp resonance and antiresonance frequency of $Pb(Z_{0.53}Ti_{0.47})O_3$ doped with $Nb_2O_5$ has been investigated. The calcining temperature ranged from $700^{\circ}C$ to 110$0^{\circ}C$ The calcining temperature affected on antiresonance frequency more strongly than the resonance frequency. Therefore the Kp was almost entirely dependent upon the antiresonance frequency. The p and antiresonance frequency of the sample in creased with the calcining temperature reaching a maximum at about 90$0^{\circ}C$ When a poling electric field of 35KV/cm was applied to the sample calcined at 90$0^{\circ}C$ and sintered for two hours at 120$0^{\circ}C$ Kp attained a maximum value of 0.64 which is in good agreement with the results of other investigators.

  • The effect of calcining temperature ranged from $700^{\circ}C$ to 110$0^{\circ}C$ on sintering characteristics of morphotropic $Pb(Zr_{0.53}Ti_{0.47})O_3 doped with $Nb_2O_5$ has been investigated. The ratio of sintered grain size to calcined grain size decreased as the calcining temperature increased. The hardness as well as the sintered density of the samples reached a maximum at about 90$0^{\circ}C$. The X-ray diffraction pattern of the sintered sample showed both tetragonal and rhombohedral phases. The tetragonal phases intensity increased with the calcining temperature going through a maximum at about 90$0^{\circ}C$ while the rhombohedral phase intensity remained uneffected. The both intensity were about the same at 90$0^{\circ}C$ The dielectric constant of the sintered samples reached a maximum um while the dielectric dissipation factor showed a minimum at the calcining temperature of about 100$0^{\circ}C$.

  • Characteristics of Al2O3-ZrO2 powders prepared by sol-gel process and their sintering behavior were investigated as a function of calcination temperature. The sol-gel processed powders were calcined at 800, 900, 1000, 1100, 1200$^{\circ}C$, and analyzed by X-ray diffraction technique. Pore size and distribution of green compact of the calcined powders were measured by mercury porosimeter. It is suggested that the optimal temperature of calcination for the sintering of Al2O3-ZrO2 powder prepared by sol-gel process is 1100$^{\circ}C$. In the Al2O3-17vol.% ZrO2 sintered specimen, which was sintered at 1600$^{\circ}C$ for 2hrs in air, 69vol.% tetragonal phse existed.

  • Effects of calcination temperature on microstructure and electric-magnetic properties of Mg-ferrite were investigated. As the calcination temperature increase, the green density and the sintered density increase due to the enhancement of densification of calcined powder. The grain size in the sintered ferrite increases with increasing the calcination temperatures from 800 to 100$0^{\circ}C$, but decreases from 1000 to 120$0^{\circ}C$. The resistivity decreases with increasing the calcination temperatures from 800 to 110$0^{\circ}C$, but increases from 1100 to 120$0^{\circ}C$ due to the microstructure which consists of small, uniform grian size and pores at grain boundaries. Magnetization increases slightly due to the increasement of the sintered density while Curie temperature is almost constant regardless of calcination temperatures.

  • The calcining temperature ranging from 900$^{\circ}C$ to 1300$^{\circ}C$ affected on the planar coupling factor and resonance characteristics of BaTiO3 ceramics doped with 0.2 wt% MnO2 have been investigated. Dielectric constant planar coupling factor and anti-resonance frequency of the sample increased with the calcining temperature up to 1,200$^{\circ}C$ and decreased above that temperature but the resonance frequency decreased slightly with the increasing calcining temperature. The planar coupling factor and anti-resonance frequency increased with the sintered density and dielectric constant while the resonance frequency was almost constant. The resonance and anti-resonance frequency increased with the sample temperature.
